I’m a sprinter and 4 months ago I had a hamstring injury that prevented me from running and lifting weights. Meeting Janet changed everything. The Alexander Technique has helped me to use my body in ways that do no agravate my injury, make me feel lighter, and much more in control of my movements. I have started running again and now incorporate the technique into my running form. Thank you Janet.

Janet is wonderful! It’s kind of hard to understand what she is doing in the beginning so you have to hang in there… The awareness of things and choices she speaks of in the body seem so subtle as to not really matter. However, after a half dozen sessions, I could easily feel what she was describing and after a dozen sessions, I can say with certainty that they are definitely _not_subtle and I wonder how I never felt or was aware of these things in my body before! I feel lighter in general and the pain has diminished significantly. My entire perception of how my body moves and interacts with the world has changed and I can now see it will continue to change. I leave her session feeling on top of the world and that anything is possible. Highly recommended.

I had heard of the Alexander Technique years ago and was always curious about it. I had always wanted to improve my posture and thought the technique might be a good way to do that. As it turned out it was way more detailed, nuanced and amazing than a simple technique to improve posture. I have taken two series of classes with Janet over the last several months and what she teaches is difficult to describe in words. Let’s just say that I’ve been a competitive athlete my entire life. I learned things in this class like how to get up out of a chair and how to walk down the street in the most efficient way possible. Janet’s class totally exceeded my expectations. Lastly she taught me a toolset that I can use everyday not just to improve my posture and reduce pain, but to employ an efficient and relaxed way of moving through the world. Thanks Janet.

I took a four-evening seminar on Alexander Technique(AT) with Janet earlier this year, and found it both fascinating and useful. During those four evenings, I really came to appreciate how little I really know about my own body, how I move, and the habits I may have picked up that interfere with my health or physical activities. AT is great way to learn what you’re REALLY doing with your body – how you walk, how you stand up, how you lie down. It then helps you correct any problems or lang-standing habits by gently returning the body(and voice!) to their natural balance. It is quite effective. Janet herself is a very kind, giving person, a good teacher and a gentle, perceptive coach. Highly recommended.

I went to Janet for help when I developed vertigo and needed help with movement control and balance. Her gentle teaching has helped not just my balance but my self confidence in all movement related matters. I use her lessons every day and bless the day I discovered her. She has also done wonders for my bad back.
