This place is awesome! It’s a weird, cute little Bed and Breakfast right in the heart of Stinson beach and literally two blocks from the beach. Myself and my fiancé have stayed at every place there is to stay in Stinson, and though I still love Ocean Court simply because of the small kitchens and the own-private-appartment feel, this place has it totally beat on affordability and funk. It isn’t the most sterile option, obviously, since it’s two older people’s home and cleaning up after a bunch of people and running everything isn’t exactly easy for one woman. But the linens were all clean, the room was vacuumed(if not dusted) and smelled pleasantly like perfume, cleaning liquid and ocean musk. We could hear the waves at night which was very relaxing. It’s a cozy and homey house, the style is vintage, eclectic and funky with tons of little bizarre knickknacks decorating the place. There’s even a cat to make friends with while you stay. The owners are sweet and very down-to-earth. Staying here has the feel of just being a guest in someone’s home, it’s not very formal. Definitely no fake or forced customer-service attitude, so if you want to be treated like you just became King or Queen of Stinson beach this is not the place for you. Like I said, the owners will not hold your hand, but they are very helpful if you ask for it. They even offer complimentary transportation! They offer $ 55 for rooms during weekdays and off-season, which is really the best time to go to Stinson since this tiny town gets packed quick, and is easily the cheapest option in the town. They do accept cards, so I’m not sure what the issue was with the previous reviewer. They have complimentary breakfast(obviously), which when we stayed was fried herbed potatoes, hard-bolied eggs, toast and grapes. There is free coffee and tea available 24/7, definitely a money-saver. There are DVD-players and VCRs(with TONS of tapes both in and out of the room) in all the rooms, and cable TV. They are one of the few places in Stinson to offer complimentary internet, which is useful if you have to tie up some loose ends from back in the real world. There are five different rooms, three in the main house, and two more private ones in a separate unit in the back. We ended up staying in the latter, mostly because my fiancé choose the one with the biggest TV(Men, sigh). All the rooms have their own unique style, and we are looking forward to returning to try them all out. In terms of affordability and savings, this place is it. It’s cheaper than Stinson Beach Motel, and has a much more welcoming feel BYFAR. If you want a unique and affordable experience, stay here.

i have to tell you, i was in shock, and didnt know how to respond to this«Bed & Breakfast.» first off, they don’t allow credit cards. they only accepted a cashier check. they KNOW people would stop payment upon setting foot in this place. i don’t know where to begin. their welcome was anything but. the space was full of tacky items. to get to the room i was to stay in, we had to go thru a bathroom! the bathroom i was supposed to use! clearly it was a well traveled hallway. i had to walk past 3 people partying right outside my window. the stink of alcohol was wretched. these people looked downright strung out. and i know what strung out looks like. do you think i could RLEAX as i walked by these local«friends» on the way to and from the shower… a bathroom that was disgusting. the room was NOTHING like the photo. they claim it was an airy room. in fact, it looked like a storage-space-turned-trying-to-be-a-bedroom. it was closed-in and looked dirty. i cannot believe that they market this as a bed and breakfast. have they ever STAYED in a bed and breakfast? i doubt it. i have to tell you… i was in shock. the woman who let me in rambled a shpiel, and then was gone. i went back to tell her i wouldnt be staying and to ask for a refund, but she was nowhere to be found. i had to change all my plans. i didnt stay over night in stinson, rather i drove back to my lovely clean home and then had to drive back the next day for my plans the next day out there in stinson. my birthday on the coast was disappointing regarding my sleeping arrangments. or should i say non-sleeping arrangements.(my birthday celebration on the beach for 2 days was FUN! and SUN!) these people should consider marketing their place as a hostel. AND… there is a sign out front, it said rooms $ 55. they don’t even offer $ 55 rooms. i tell you, i lost money approx 120 dollars, but you couldnt pay me double to spend the night at this creepy place.
