Sycamore Park

I love love love this park! We were trying to drive down East Blythdale but it was blocked off due to construction, so we took Sycamore instead and saw a little sign and what looked like a wooden archway to someone’s back yard! After getting some pizza at Tony Tutto’s (Our favorite!) we backtracked and went here.
It was amazing walking through the little ally way and coming out into a HUGE playground with giant wooden play structures, multiple slides, a large toddler area and lots of swings. As well as giant fields on 2 sides.
We stayed over an hour with our toddler and had a blast. It felt very safe and was very clean. Will definitely be going back

The park is not bad for the most part but the neighbors in Sycamore Park, especially on Amicita, are WEIRD. They are best described as hermits. It makes taking my kids to this park unsettling.

Super cute, neighborhood-​inspired local park. This park is so sweet because of all the wooden structures and interesting spaces. My daughter used to have fantastic games of tag and hide and seek here with just about anyone who showed up. The little children’s play area is fenced with swings, a play structure and a sand box that is usually shaded. The bigger kids area has a sort of wooden castle structure with walkways and secret spots as well as a great twisty slide. There are several picnic tables and large lawn. The lawn is sometimes used for off-​leash dog play, so take that as you will. If you like dogs and want to bring yours, it’s welcome. If they make you uncomfortable, this may not be the best spot for you as the dogs are right next to the children’s area. Usually it’s just one or two dogs chasing a ball for a few minutes and then they continue on with their owners.
One definite downside: there is NO BATHROOM. I think the neighbors fought this tooth and nail — the ones immediately next to the park, that is. While I respect the notion of not wanting a public bathroom just behind your yard, this approach was a little short sided. Kids have been known to pee in the bushes along the fence line.
