One charger with a huge solar system that our taxes paid for and they want $ 1.00 per hour. The actual cost is more like .30 cents per hour or with the solar system it is zero. What a ripoff. Thanks Mill Valley officials for nothing.

Driving an EV for nearly 2 years now has produced a number of benefits. Not buying gasoline is an obvious 1, but a less intuitive bonus has been discovering places I likely would not have gone to otherwise. Hauke Park is such a place. The EV brought me here because the parking lot for Hauke Park has a charging station. I was out in this general vicinity looking for a way to get onto the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path. Not only did I find that & a charging station, but there was also this awesome little park. In the parking lot area, which has plenty of spaces, there’s restrooms & a water fountain with a water bottle filling spout. Across the street, Hauke Park is right next to the water of a tiny bay inlet, has lots of green grass, sports fields & direct access to the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path. So now, anytime I feel like a run up & down the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path, Hauke Park is my start/end point. It’s a lovely park with all the facilities I might need for a 5 mile run + charging for my EV. Which basically makes the cost driving there free. Yeah, that’s as good as it gets.

Drove along Hamilton and Morales to get a little flavor of local en route from Corte Madera to Miller Avenue for a play last night, before sending MSG to SFO for a red-eye. How amazing and quaint Marin truly is. Enter Hauke Park: located close-by to lots of apartments, condos, and homes, this local park has loads of green and lots of water nearby. Pretty pocket of neighborhood. Gentle sloping hill street to the north of it, this has to be a very popular spot when the sun sets a little later daily, and when the bite of the winter evening slowly starts to depart… So nice a find.
