Larry the Hat recommended this place to us. If you don’t know who Larry the Hat is, you’re missing out. Anyways, pregnant and starving, and my fiancé knowing that he had only a few minutes to get some food into me before a full scale breakdown ensued, we decided to take him up on his recommendation and stop by here. Urban Remedy, you are a life saver. I’m not a vegan, and most vegan/gluten free/vegetarian places don’t quite hit the mark, but this spot did. We got the Sweet Potato hummus and vegetable snack bowl. I tolerate hummus. But I could eat that hummus all day. Plus it was only around $ 6, for a good serving of veggies(enough to share). Not bad at all. Oh, and the ginger brittle is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.

Love this place! I found it while visiting Mill Valley on accident, and weekly delivery orders have since become a staple for me. You can order from them online, and all orders over $ 50 are shipped for free. Nearly everything keeps in the fridge really well for days and it’s the most affordable option I’ve found of its kind.

Wow! This is the only 100% organic, raw, vegan food/juice spot that I have felt is in super high integrity with their food since Café Gratitude and Lydia’s left Marin. And they now use GLASSBOTTLES in both stores! Super Yay! And the desserts are excellent! Esp Crème Caramel— too good for words!

I think urban remedy is a good company, with good intentions– but I agree with the freshness. Juices should be drank fresh. If their kitchen is in San Rafael, they can bring fresh glassed juices in everyday… the problem is with glass is they’re trying to expand and also save money /the environment(so plastic it is) but I say– USEGLASS!!! the taste is so much different from UR San Rafael vs. Mill Valley. Pro glass juices!

Poo. I was just so excited for a juice and drove over to the Mill Valley shop, but couldn’t bring myself to buy a detox juice that’s been sitting in plastic all day. I just could not. and so I left empty handed and went to Whole Foods.

Pros — tasty juices(some) — good service, reasonable $ 15 delivery fee — glass jars Cons — I feel there is too much sugar in the juices. I did a level 2 and it was still way too much. Also the greens were not dark enough! seems like there’s more water than greens to provide value.

These places are such a drag. The presqueezed plastic-bottled juice stores. The people who crave green juice want fresh green juice. I can’t tell you how many times I look for a green juice in when I’m in a new area and stumble on this business model. They are always empty… And the fresh green juice places typically have people waiting in line. I hope someone opens a good fresh green juice soon. I guess I’m heading back to the Plant across the freeway and with a status quo green juice menu. Bummer!

I’m officially just as obsessed with the Mill Valley Urban Remedy as the San Rafael location! Everything is amazing and it’s so beautiful inside. The employee working was very friendly and offered my friends and I a sample of the raw tiramisu, which was delicious. I originally stopped in to buy a salad, but the raw cacao mouse was too tempting to resist. Let me tell you it was so worth it! I was basically in heaven and I cannot wait to go back and buy it again. I absolutely love this juice shop!

I now consider myself a juice connoissuer and I won’t say much because I generally don’t like to write bad reviews. But if they want some constructive criticism… your green’s are not tasty compared to 3 other vendors I can pick up green’s in Mill Valley and regulary do. Light on the green too. your 3 other competitors give more green. When the green is settled at the bottom… it is maybe a ¼ a cup if that and they are not tasty at all. Your 3 competitors have nailed it.

I love the products here, but the staff has always been cool to borderline unfriendly. I walked in the other day, smiled at the girls, said«hi!» and was given a once over and ignored. Kind of a bummer, but I would absolutely keep going because the juices are excellent and sell for a very fair price.

After a weekend of Super Bowl imbibing, my body was craving some much needed non-alcoholic, healthy goodness. Fortunately, Urban Remedy came to the rescue! I’ve been meaning to try one of their Marin County juice spots for a while. I popped in to their downtown Mill Valley location, which I think they recently open late last year. It’s a cute, tiny juice shack with bright, cheery colors. The two young ladies behind the counter wore big smiles and were happy to help. I checked in their large fridge and idenitifed the perfect elixir for my hung-over state — the«After Party»(made with beet root, carrots, apple, lemon, and ginger). All of these ingredients blend together in sweet harmony and create a very tasty, liver-friendly mock-tail. The 16 oz bottle is 230 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 34 grams of sugar. The only thing that was a bit hard to swallow was the $ 8.95 price tag. Wow — that’s some expensive juice. But let’s face it — some times the best ingredients in life cost a little extra. Urban Remedy also offered some meal replacement smoothies and some healthy organic snacks and salads. They even have some tasty dessert options(lemon brittle, brownies, and cookies). I’ll def be back to try those out. But for now, I’m sticking with my «After Party» juice. Hopefully, I’ll be on the road to recovery soon!

I discovered Urban Remedy last year and did one of their 7 day juice cleanses. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I lost 5 lbs and kept it off and felt like I really detoxed my whole system. I was a bit scared about doing 7 days but the juices are very filling and I was not hungry at all. I go to a juice place near my new house in the east bay and I just can’t stomach it because they blend all the juices in a Vitamix and they are so thick and they make me want to barf– and the woman who runs the place doesn’t even use organic veg and fruit like Urban Remedy does. I wish Urban Remedy would open a juice bar in the East Bay– we have nothing like it and I much prefer their cold pressed juices. I’m confused about all these people are saying they put Stevia in their juices which is simply not true– as I asked– they put Stevia in their lemonades but not in their cold pressed juice blends. Anyway– I love all the flavors– especially the green ones because I feel like I am being really healthy when I drink one. I know I wouldn’t be able to eat all the green veggies I need to be really healthy so juicing is the way to go. I think the price is quite fair for what they offer. I typically have to buy the cold pressed juice at Whole Foods by and they are $ 8.99 so Urban Remedy is cheaper than that. Someone told me they were opening an store in Mill Valley which sounds great but the San Rafael store is better for me when I come to Marin. Please come to the East Bay Urban Remedy!!! If you do I promise to be there every day!

I was very excited when Urban Remedy opened in Mill Valley. After much research, they were the company I decided to use when I did my first three-day juice cleanse back in February. I like the fact the juices are packaged in bottles instead of plastic. UPDATE: They now package their juices in plastic bottles. The store is centrally located and offers a broad selection of juices; spikes(nutritional supplements to help boost your immunity or aid digestion; I love adding these to my water bottle); a few snacks(the no oatmeal cookies are delicious and addicting; avoid the kale chips as they include coconut sugar and are sweet and pretty disgusting); and salads(the Zen salad is delish). It would be great if they made and served juices in-house similar to Juice Girl and The Plant Organic, as opposed to simply selling pre-made, pre-packaged juices like the ones you can buy at Whole Foods.

The good: This store has is a charming if sparse interior: bright, light, with a(hand-painted?) tile floor. As of this review, the store is mainly a cooler with juice concoctions and pre-made food items. The juices and salads looked tasty, and the juice I tried(pineapple/coconut) *was* tasty. The salads also looked good, but I make great salads at home, so I’m less likely to buy a salad. The bad: Really? Juices eliminates toxins? What toxins, exactly? Eating less will probably make you feel better – most of us( Unilocalers!) eat a lot, and a few days of less food is likely to reduce that always-full feeling you can get after eating more than you really need to eat. Eat more plants and less processed foods and you will likely reap some health benefits long-term. But! The Urban Remedy website is full of ‘woo’: «Doing a juice cleanse can help unleash the natural healing power of your body by riding built up toxins.» First, they probably mean«ridding»(did I mention that the website badly – nay, very, very badly needs to be copy-edited?). Second, your body has great filters, sometimes referred to as the kidneys and the liver. «Q: Can I eat during my cleanse? A: It’s up to you. We recommend a 100% juice cleanse, if possible, because eating slows down the cleansing process.» They recommend a 100% juice cleanse because… ka-ching! It means you’ll be buying 100% of what you consume from Urban Remedy! We all like«clean» but the health benefits of juice cleanses are not supported by science-based medicine. If you believe in homeopathy/sugar pills/faeries, well, it’s your life, so feel free to believe in «detoxing» as well. While I hate the mumbo-jumbo of the website and the pseudo-science behind the juice fasting philosophy, I do love to support local businesses. So: Try this place out. Why? Because they make yummy food and juices. If you are too lazy, I mean too busy, I mean just sick and tired of preparing food… well, come on by. Try it out. Healthy food/drinks to go – you could do a lot worse.
