Driving by, hungry after climbing Mt. Tam, we took our chances and checked out this tiny pizza place. I guess it is mostly for takeaway, because the interior is far from cozy(and pretty f*ing cold as well). We were three people and ordered at the counter(an XL «works» pizza). Waiting time was pretty long for this kind of place and the lack of other customers. TV was pretty loud and guy behind the counter didn’t seem too thrilled with having patrons. But when the food finally arrived, it was pretty good. Nice and fluffy dough, lots of stuff on top(not what my ideal pizza would look like, given I like ‘em thin and crispy and with little on it, but I know that’s hard to come by around here), warm and tasty. I think we came in at about $ 40 pre tax with three drinks and four slices to take home. All in all quite all right!

I can only vouch for the gluten free pizza, but if you must eat GF and have been searching for a pizza that doesn’t TASTE gluten free, there’s a heavenly wish come true called STEFANO’S. The gluten free pizza is large sized, the crust isn’t chewy and weird, the toppings are high quality, and the price is fair. My favorite is a pesto-chicken breast-artichoke hearts-onions-mushrooms customized pie. But BBQ, chicken, pineapple, and onions is awesome, too. Delivery to Sausalito! Order online for 10% off. It takes 45 mins to an hour, but it’s worth the wait. The drivers are super nice and the pizza arrives hot and fresh. I feel bad for those who had negative experiences, but I honestly think the GF is the best thing they make. My husband is jealous of how mine looks and smells compared to his still-yummy gluten-bomb pizza every time. Also, one GF pizza is at least 2, often 4 meals.

My son and I ordered two gluten free pizzas. We were told we had to order«large» because that is all they offer in gluten free. We were told the price would be $ 20.50 and would be there in an hour. Over an hour and a half later(!!!) the pizza driver arrived insisting on $ 28.50. When we called to ask the shop what the problem was with the price, timing they said, «TAKEITORLEAVEIT, THAT’S OURPRICE» I will LEAVEIT from now on!

Fast. Furious. Okay not that but great for slices. Great pizza for kid parties. Nice people. Not much more to say here… well, they do power the place by solar… I guess that’s a twist.

One XL pizza(veggie) and one order garlic bread was $ 30 after a $ 6 off coupon. This is a bit too pricy. Delivery was just prior to one hour after order, not bad. Over all taste was OK, crust was a bit soggy at center and flavors lacked a bit. It’s alright, but did not shine for the price.

I can’t help it… I’m a fan. I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia factor because I’ve been coming here for over twenty years, or the consistently yummy pizza, or the solar power usage, but I’m always happy with my pie.

We have thrown enough money at Stephanos in Mill Valley over the years to have a good idea of the service. The person that answers the phone today for our order was rude! He shouldn’t be answering phones if his people skills are that bad. I was hung up on and and promptly called back and told him, to which he responds, «what do you want?» They need someone better than that on the phones!

Great pizza by the slice! I love that it’s been around since 1972! Free coke with your slice. Can’t beat it! I recommend their signature slice of Sausage and green peppers.

It’s clear that many of the people who Unilocaled this business did not have realistic expectations. They are clearly a grab and go style pizzeria and there’s nothing wrong with that. We are from the East Coast and never expect much when it comes to pizza and honestly usually order Domino’s for consistency’s sake. We ordered a large extra cheese for pick-up from Stefano’s tonight. The cashier was really nice, accepted our coupon, and even advised us to keep it to use for next time! It was ready on time and still piping hot by the time we got it home. Pizza was tasty, good sauce and cheese… nothing to write home about, but it was honestly pretty good. We will come back for sure.

I was going to get a burger across the street but seeing that Stefano delivers to my hometown Sausalito, I thought give them a try because it could be another choice for delivery. So, to do the test properly I decided to get the old standby Sausage and Mushroom and get a whole pie because I’ve found there’s a lot of difference between a slice and a fresh whole pie just out of the oven. I was barely greeted by the two men when I came in and walked up to the counter. Almost like I was interrupting them although they didn’t seem like they were doing anything. I started out with a salad and definitely was not impressed. Not an ounce of Soul in this puppy. Maybe the pie will save the day. Boy, was I wrong. After a couple of slices, I thought. .enough, I’ll just take it home along with the rest of the salad. Then I thought, Why? Why bother taking home one of the worst Pizzas I’ve had in years. So I left the 4 slices and the half salad behind. In the 40 minutes in the place I was the only dinner there, not even people in for a slice although quite a few whole pizza pickups. A few weeks later when I was back in Mill Valley, I was eating at the hamburger place across the street and I asked a local young couple if they’d ever eaten at Stefano and they said yes but when I asked them what they thought I got the feeling they weren’t being totally forthcoming and were trying to be polite and not put a local merchant down. Probably of the school of thought that says«Don’t Ever say bad things.» but I’m of the school of Tell it like it is. Finally, when I told them of my experience, they chimed in and admitted they too had some of the worst pizza of their life there. I really don’t get it. They’ve been in business a zillion years, maybe 40 and there’s dozens of real good pizza places in Mill Valley, so how can this be? I guess they survive on delivery. Maybe no one else in town delivers, idk. Well, too bad. I was expecting to write a descent review. Still searching for anyone not in Sausalito who delivers.

Stumbled in with my husband not sure if I wanted pizza. immediately we were greeted with a smile and information. I couldn’t say no after great service, I’m glad I didn’t because the pizza was a PERFECT. Thin crust with an abundance of delicious flavor. Great pizza, great price. Must try!

We’ve been eating Stefano’s pizza for over 30-years. We have finally decided that we are done with Stefano’s. The guys that work there are impolite, discourteous, and they generally act like you are disturbing them by entering their restaurant. The pizza has become over the years worse and the prices have become unreasonable. We are sorry to leave a longtime Mill Valley business; however, the time has come to leave Stefano’s behind and take our business elsewhere. Sorry to say goodbye Stefano’s, but you only have yourself to blame.

The pizza was just«ok» nothing special by any means. I’ve actually had Dominos pizzas that were better. What was most annoying though was the service. Mid twenties guy running the register Saturday evening had a huge attitude, acted like he was doing me a favor to take my order. To make matters worse, I’m new to the area and learned that the guy ringing me up as eating in-house, even though I specified to-go, triggered a tax on my order. This is a never visit again place.

Okay I’m giving this place 3 stars based on this being the west coast. In other words, it’s all relative. I probably wouldn’t pick this place back east for delivery, but out here it’s the closest I’ve had to NY style pizza. The pizza is good, toppings are decent. Now if they could actually deliver it to me and keep it a little better than luke warm all would be good. The sides I’ve tried with the pizza(wings, garlic bread) weren’t the best, going to stick with pizza in the future.

Stefano’s just lost a 15 year long customer. Obviously I always thought the pizza was alright to have gone back over that long of a span. Not great, and nowhere near NYC street slices, but one of the better delivery options for Southern Marin. But their delivery practices are an absolute deal breaker. This was the 2nd attempt in a row that took at least an hour & a half for delivery. Tonight was actually 4 minutes short of 2HOURS. I was told 45 mins when I placed the order. And naturally, the pizza was cold. Nothing like paying full price for a pizza with hard cold cheese. I’m officially out. I would be a moron to let you ditch me with a crew of hungry(and therefore cranky) kids yet again.

Whoa — can’t believe I’m actually writing a one-star review(especially for a place that I’ve liked for so long). Came in here last night around 7:30pm for a slice of pepperoni. The place was empty, so this should have been a pretty quick in & out transaction. Unfortunately, I waited for almost 15 minutes. I kept looking at the cashier for some kind of heads-up. It was pretty obvious that he forgot to put the order in. At minute 15, he finally acknowledged me and said my pizza would be ready in a few minutes. Seriously, dude? You’re a pizzeria. Your job is to sell pizza slices. No one’s in your store, so there’s no reason why it should take 15 minutes to re-heat a slice of pizza in your hot oven. Long story short: I finally gave up and asked for my money back. What was truly surprising was how unapologetic the cashier was. I almost got the feeling that he thought this ordeal was funny. He just handed me five bucks and turned around as though I was inconveniencing him. Stefano’s — I really dig your pizza. I know you guys serve your community well. I really want to continue supporting you, but this kind of business practice is unacceptable.

Just mediocre. Probably a little worse than frozen from the market. Crust is cardboardy. Very salty. If you have 3 – 4 slices expect to be gulping water. Would have given them 3 stars just for being a local business vs larger chain, but subtracted that for no peppers or parmesan on delivery. Even with the $ 6 off coupon it wasn’t a bargain and it wins the worse pizza in the area award.

So there aren’t many things that bother me when I eat a restaurant… but here’s one that really irks me: CLEANLINESS. Simple health department procedures yanno? I’ve been to stefano’s before when I was in the area… decided to pick up a groupon $ 15 for $ 30. Came by today to pick up my to-go order… and completely disgusted when I saw a guy handling money with his gloves as he was helping a customer pay… and then moving on to flipping a pizza without changing his gloves or washing his hands. Seriously disgusting. I wanted to support a local pizzeria… but I think domino’s probably has better health standards. Stefano’s? No thanks. Never again.
