Zio Ziegler is a extremely young to be an artist of this talent. I’m loving seeing his work popping up all over the city. His latest piece«The Dawn of Man» is not only gargantuan sized and must have taken a lot of time and precision, but turns an empty wall into a beautiful piece of art. Picasso with a taste of Keith Haring, Zio takes a modern twist on the human anatomy.

WHAT?! Only one review?! Come here now, before this place is gone(end of Aug, so they say). WHY? Well, why not stretch your walk through town one more block? WHERE? Follow the festive flying t-shirts waving outside the door. WHO? You know when you walk in, and it’s just the guy who runs the store and his friend, and its too quiet, and you realize you don’t belong there? This was the opposite of that. Well, it was the guy(Zio) and his friends, but they were nice. Very polite but warm. Breezy ocean photos, vibrant photos/art, fanflippintastic T-shirts. Listen, my son liked a T so much he bought it with his own money(?! he’s 9). Great stuff. Go already.

Wow! We could be witnessing the birth of a new Keith Haring right in our midst. Certainly Mill Valley hasn’t seen anything like this in the last 30 years. Part artist’s studio, part gallery, part retail store featuring Zio’s hand-printed t-shirts, hats, belts, dresses and even blazers and polos. The art is exuberantly colorful and about as fresh and free as any artist since Haring. Collectors are already pouncing on the place, even though it’s only been open a few weeks, and the bonus is that Ziegler himself is there this summer, on vacation from Rhode Island School of Design, where he will earn his degree next year. This place is not to be missed. It’s almost like you walked into a studio on the back streets of Venice and found treasure. Check it out!
