Great hotel restaurant and a good recommendation for grabbing a quick bite prior to an airport pick up or drop off. Elegant, simple food, well prepared and reasonably priced.

Just don’t feel right for the restaurant. Food pictures looks great … Went there and surprisingly found it is inside the Westin Hotel but no where was it shown that this’s a hotel restaurant. At the concierge desk, I asked if they validate parking, the lady said they credited one hour(at the parking lot exit it said two hours) for dining there. When asked further she said she was unsure. Peeking inside the restaurant during the peak of lunch hours, only one or two tables were taken. Vibe is bad. Left without even trying the food. First sight impressions and experience were horrible!

Not really a happy hour. They offer a beer special($ 2) off and that is it. Disappointing. The food is okay what they do offer.

Great food but the worst service. I waited 1 hour for a flatbread and coke. Another couple behind me had the same wait time. The server seemed more concerned with talking football with the men at the bar then his tables. Which I can’t blame him since who I assume was the manager kept meandering through messing with chairs instead of helping with the 8+ tables the server had by himself. I will not be coming back.

We were pointed to nearby chairs to wait for our table. Thirty minutes later, after seeing people arrive after us and swoop up table after table, I discovered that they’d forgotten about our party of three — even though we were sitting ten feet away from the desk. Once we were seated, the disappointments continued. My kale caesar salad was just lettuce and dressing, with the occasional sprig of kale. My friend’s salmon came with what looked like whipped cream, and my vegan friend found cheese on his portobello sandwich, after requesting none. I don’t believe our waters were filled. The artichoke dip appetizer was solid. Bad service, bad food. But at an isolated hotel, this is your only option — and they know it.

While staying at the Westin SF Airport on our last night in Cal-town, we dined at Grill & Vine located in the hotel for convenience. We ordered the Avocado Club Sandwich and, of all things, the Spaghetti(whole wheat pasta of course)…with shrimp. The sandwich was actually loaded with plenty of sliced turkey along with the omnipresent avocado on Sourdough that we found so prevalent in California. It turned out to be a very good value at 16 bills. The ‘Spaghet’, served with their own Pomodoro sauce, was right there — better than I would have expected at an airport hotel. Served with 4 large skewered shrimp, a familiar plate of good old pasta had been something I had been craving since that first day in Napa. It was right on spot. The thing that stood out here at the Grill & Vine, however, was the service. We had four different hosts/servers check in and touch base with us at our table during the meal — a seldom seen occurrence even at the best restaurants. The team here at the G & V certainly was laser focused on their customer’s satisfaction. It is always a nice treat to be surprised with great service rather than trying to get someone’s attention to bring the bill. 4 stars.

No waiting. For a hotel restaurant, it was very good. Wait staff handled special request without a problem all. Portions were perfect size. Overall good experience.

Stand alone restaurant 3.5 stars … Restaurant in a hotel, by an airport … 5 stars. Recommend the cheese plate, pear salad, salmon main course and risotto.

I came here Mother’s Day weekend with mom and grandma. We easily made a reservation using opentable and were seated immediately. The service was truly attentive — I wish more restaurants took notes. Then again, Grill & Vine *is* inside the Westin, so customer service actually matters. The food itself was good. Not like whoa, but definitely good. I had the pork milanese with isreali couscous. The israeli couscous was the star of the plate. The arugula salad that came on the side was way overdressed and would have otherwise been great if it weren’t.

Bad service horrible food. I stated 3 times no carbs no sugar. Would you like French fries? Here’s an order of bread. How about dessert? The steak was overlooked and worse then I could of got from a sizzler for 32 $. If I didn’t stay at the Westin I would never bother going here. If you do stay here walk away to eat. First martini was very vermouth heavy. All in all I wish I could give 0 stars

I stay way too much at the Westin SFO due to work and find myself eating here more often than not. I like this restaurant way better since the remodel. The menu is locally sourced, seasonal and the dishes have gotten more exciting. They’ve been hit and miss and I tend to order the same dishes when I find a good one. I really like the cobb salad, the turkey club and the brussel sprouts. For dinner Sea bass is delish. Some of their apps are really good and some feels overpriced. The breakfast is the same as other Westin’s. They try to push the buffet on you and if you don’t take it, be prepared for a longer wait. So just sigh and do the buffet if your time is precious. But overall, I’m a fan of the improvement. And at least now, when someone in our group suggests to «just eat here,» no one groans anymore.

Not bad. We were staying at the hotel where the restaurant is for a wedding and as the wedding was adult-only, we needed food for the kids. So we called down and ordered some bruschettas to go. The person was very courteous, almost painfully so, but he got my food out to me quickly and off I went. We ended up not eating them that night, but the next morning and they were really good. I wish I remember which ones they were… They had lots of televisions and were very busy; there were lots of people there hanging out and having a good time. It seems to have a good vibe for a hotel restaurant/bar!

inside the westin…2 hour validated self-parking…contemporary clean interiors… bar area with television for sports. tables for formal dining… casual large format tall communal tables… taken to a table in the back… bread and fluffy whipped butter complimentary… order of the burger with fries $ 16…choice of two toppings included… taking avocado and bacon… requesting medium rare… orders received within 15 minutes… avocado plentiful and two strips of crisp bacon presented… cooked to perfection and a handsome brioche bun… finding the salads a bit small… chicken caesar salad $ 16, but a sandwich might be a better option for hunger… beer prices quite high at $ 7 draft and $ 6.50 bottles… enjoying the first visit and coming for a second… seated at the large communal table near the front… service lacking… no bread served… water service quite slow… beer orders finally taken and willing to place food orders too… taking another beer and waiting… server to never return… flagging down a busboy… informing of an hour wait and still no food… finally food delivered… avocado club was very tasty with nearly a whole avocado $ 16…burger looking a bit sloppy from first experience… not cooked as requested… reuben $ 15 and would recommend… good sauerkraut and corned beef plenty…

Defying all expectations, this is really good food near and airport and located in a hotel – The Westin. You’d think think is two strikes and you’d probably not try Grill and Vine, but it was actually excellent. The restaurant bills itself as casual elegance with SuperfoodsRx from a famous Chef, Werner Frankhaus, and seems to be intended to bring healthy, light fare to a tavern-like restaurant. They seem to have succeeded in the concept. I had the Kale Salad with Salmon which was very good. The dish is actually a Kale Caesar which I didn’t want, so I modified this and they were fine with the order. Great food and great service! What a find near SFO!

This review is purely for the bar section. I dropped by here hoping to order a drink before the Prom. Sadly all the seats were filled and the slowest bartender I have ever seen was already ignoring patrons who had ordered drinks and were trying to wave him down. Running the checks he was slow, handing over drinks he was slow, running people’s credit, you guessed it, also slow. After waiting patiently for five or six minutes and seeing no hustle as he went about his motions and unsuccessfully trying to catch the eye of the waitress leaning against the swinging door watching him the whole time, I gave up. Sorry bar. I would’ve ordered a drink or even been up to wait a few more minutes if I thought I’d be served this century. Ah well.

As guests of the Westin SFO, my husband and I were happy to find a restaurant inside the hotel. One menu had some March Madness specials, all items like hot dogs and sliders, for $ 9 each. I stuck to the regular menu and ordered only a kale Caesar salad and a bloody Mary. I love a good, spicy bloody Mary. My husband does not. He ordered chips and the same drink as me, but asked for a non-spicy version. His was almost undrinkable.(For him, I mean. I could prob drink pureed habanero juice and not break a sweat). But his was just as spicy as mine, which was on the very warm level. His chips were good though. And my salad was good. I eat a lot of kale and other leafy greens. I really liked the pieces mixed in with the regular lettuce. I guess I expected all kale, but it was nice to have the assorted lettuce. The croutons didn’t taste like fresh, house-made ones, but I wasn’t sure totally if they were or not and I enjoyed the little guys. Lots of cheese on the salad, but not a very big serving for $ 12. Loved our stay at the hotel, but we ventured out for all food needs after our visit to their restaurant.

I expected the prices to be on the higher side, being that it’s in the W, and at SFO, but I expected the food to match up to the price somewhat. I had the whole-wheat spaghetti in pomodoro sauce, with a grilled chicken breast added to it. The tomato sauce was ok but the spaghetti’s texture could have been better. I understand«al dente» and«whole-wheat» but this one was not quite there. The chicken breas was ok. It tasted like what a straight up grilled chicken with hardly any seasoning would taste like(playing it safe to cater to the general tastes, I presume). K had the avocado club sandwich with fries and am told the sandwich was decent. The fries were fine. Another annoyance was when they said they validated our parking tickets(you gotta get out within 10 minutes though, how cheap is that?) but the person at the gate said he couldn’t manually validate it as it didn’t have a stamp or signature/initial, nor could the automated machine. Same thing for another friend, she had to pay the full price too.

I love a good kale salad. No really, I’m not kidding! Since opening a year ago inside The Westin SFO, Grill & Vine has made an effort to serve locally sourced healthy(ish) food to their clientele. Instead of focusing on serving large portions to a lot of customers, they instead have a smaller menu with quality ingredients. If you travel a lot for work, you know that it’s not always the case with a hotel restaurant. Have you noticed that some kale salads are rough to eat? Yeah, I get that kale falls in the«roughage» category, but it shouldn’t scratch your throat on the way down to your belly! Eating a salad shouldn’t cause damage to your esophagus. Luckily, the Grill & Vine salad isn’t too tough and has a light Cesar dressing. Just enough to make your healthy meal taste good ;) Get it with or without a protein, either way it’s tasty.

Great hotel restaurant and bar. with all weekend half-price wine by the bottle. Gnarly Head Zin great. Greg Norman Pinot SB okay. WONDERFUL sides – mac and cheese and market veggies, just 12 together if you’re trying to keep the bill down. The entrees I saw looked wonderful. If you’re stuck in SFO this is a great hotel – Westin – and you can venture down the highway(Old Bayshore Highway) to Elephant Bar but I would just stay here. Nice bartenders, competent staff. The omelet was 14.50 but excellent and very large. Solid all around.
