I’ve been to a few different locations and by far the Burlingame Elephant Bar takes the cake. The bartending/service staff especially Maria has always been outstanding and efficient and the food has always been on point. This is coming from someone who spent 12 years in restaurants as a cook, server, corporate trainer, and manager. I highly recommend this place. Oh and get yourself a Mai Tai :)

To start off. I was on vacation celebrating my anniversary this restaurant was walking distance from the hotel after a long day we decided just to grab take out and eat back in our room. Loved that it was walking distance. The workers were very friendly and helpful. We ordered and waited for the food. I ordered the ribs full rack(light on the kona bbq since I’m not a fan of bbq) great job on the amount of sauce. The ribs were so delicious, so tender and they came right off. Mashed potatoes tasted too much like garlic in a nasty way. The sweet potatoes fries were great. My bf order a teriyaki chicken plate with brown rice. The chicken with vegetables were pretty good. The rice… Uncooked! This totally killed the plate itself. Hopefully next time we try this back home has cooked rice

My mom absolutely loves this place. She used to come here frequently with a friend before he passed. She raves about their lamb shanks and how good they are. We came here a week or so ago when I had to drop her off in the bay to catch a flight. It was Sunday night and they playoffs were going, so of course they were packed. We were lucky enough to get their last table available in the bar area. We sat down and waited almost 10 minutes to finally have a server greet us. By that point we had already snatched a menu from another table so we knew what we wanted to order. We got the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer, then I ordered the Monterey Chicken sandwich with onion rings and my mother ordered the trout. Turns out they had gotten rid of the lamb shanks even though they were one of the most popular items on the menu(my mom drilled out water about them, he couldn’t believe they discontinued them either). The lettuce wraps were delicious though I didn’t realize when I ordered them that we would have to put them together ourselves. That was messy and we didn’t have nearly enough lettuce for how much filling was there. The Monterey Chicken sandwich was also good, but the onion rings were extremely greasy. When we’d pick one up they drip with the grease and if you squeezed them at all there would be a ton left on my fingers and plate. My moms trout was well cooked, and she really enjoyed it. Overall it was an okay experience, three stars fitting perfectly. Our waiter was friendly and decently attentive but the food was just not as good as I was expecting for this chain.

Came with a party of 9 and leaving with a bad stomach ache. I would have expected more from the elephant bar, but eating pre-frozen chicken tenders and Mac n cheese from the box is a no no. Come on elephant bar!!! When you walk in the setting is saying elegant safari tour, but the food is saying TV dinners! Cajun chicken was a thin piece of chicken breast grilled with Cajun seasoning sprinkled served with uncle bens red bean rice and spinach. And a side of Taco Bell hot sauce! My nephew ordered Mac n Cheese and chicken tenders and you can so tell it was crafts Mac n cheese! Ugh never again! I can say that the servers did a good job, it’s about the only thing elephant bar has going for them!

This is a great place to eat. We started out with the artichoke dip. Pretty good. Nothing really special. I ordered the chicken and shrimp jambalaya. It was awesome. Really loaded with shrimp, chicken chunks and sausage. This was awesome. Great flavor and very spicy. Great with the garlic bread which was great as well. I would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone to try or make it a regular stop if you live here.

We went here to check out a happy hour spot! This place is a smokin deal! You can get a huge angus burger, fries, and a beer for as low as $ 7! It’s insane! And the restaurant is right on the bat with wonderful views! Definitely is a happy hour worth checking out!

Elephant bar is just an oldie but goodie. This location is probably the busiest of the 3 I know in Bay Area, but every time I go there is always a long wait and I always leave feeling ok about the whole experience. The food is ok, it’s not a bad place to hang out and service is alright. But Alright makes go with 3– stars

Walked in here on Monday around 12:30 pm. The host was not at the front and there were many people already in line patiently waiting to get sat but no host was near. Finally the host with messy hair comes by and just sits as down and throws the menus very unpleasantly. If your a host manners should be your priority no? I ordered the Mongolian beef with white rice and the food runner said«careful hot plate», LOL was that a joke? My plate and food were both as cold as my review right now. Our waiter was this older man and he was okay… Just okay. Honestly, the two stars are thanks to the view they have here. That is all. –Val

Your typical pan-asian inspired american restaurant. I’ve come here for years as a kid. The location is sketch but the restaurant itself is nicely themed with wonderful views of the bay. Their food is just okay. There was once a time that I went bonkers of their Shrimp Scampi in Lobster Sauce pasta, but that dish has gone the way of the dinosaurs. I usually come here now for their happy hour which has semi-reasonable prices. Their apps are all SO salty and drinks, kind of hit or miss. The Parmesan green beans are good to share, as is their artichoke dip. You won’t really find anything healthy here except for their salads. Note: Their french onion soup is so salty and non-fresh onion soup tasting that I have to make this a separate disclaimer. Don’t get it, you will be disappointed.

I came here for a family gathering, we made reservations and sat near the window with the wonderful bay view. I must say the view is beautiful and you can see the airplanes take off and land. Very romantic at night. Food was mediocre. Wish it was as good as the view. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad, it was super bland and not enough dressing, no flavor at all. Ordered two appetizers, calamari and bread sticks, they were super bland. I honestly don’t recommend coming here for food, but drinks with a wonderful food would be the best choice!

Great place to grab a drink while waiting to pick a friend up at the airport. I absolutely love coming here to watch the planes take off/land. The food is ok, a bit overpriced for Asian fusion cuisine but I mostly come here for the ambiance.

So it seems they changed their menu, again. Such a large menu it was hard to read and understand. They have regional foods and the all America foods. And why is most of the food over 1000 calories

Stopped in here for a bite to eat and enjoy the happy hour with a colleague before dropping him off at SFO airport to head back to Nashville. The happy hour selection is quite decent, but is only available in the bar area which tends to fill up very fast during happy hour, but we were able to secure a table expeditiously. we ran for the table without checking in… better to «sin and then ask for forgiveness… lol We did not order the Happy Hour this time around which includes a Burger, Fries and a draft beer for around $ 10.50, which is one heck of a deal. My colleague order the Lamb Chops, cooked medium and I ordered the Pecan Crusted Trout. Our Food came out in a decent amount of time and looked great. My colleague stated the Lamb Chops were great, the best he has had in a longtime. My dish, the Pecan Crusted Trout on the other hand was not so great. The«fish» overpowered the rest of the flavoring of the dish, which was very disappointing to me for I was in the mood for some seafood(which I a don’t have those moods very often). The ambiance of the pace is great and very unique. Sometimes you can see that planes taking off and landing at SFO. Plenty of TV’s in the bar area to keep up on any and all sports related events taking place. Will have to come back and have the Happy Hour Burger deal next time…

Began our meal with the ahi tuna and French dip sliders. Both solid starters. Then I got the half rack of ribs and my uncle chose the lamb chops. I definitely think I made the right decision deciding between the two. The meat didn’t fall right off the bone as I had hoped but they were very flavorful. For dessert, we got the crème brûlée. Very sweet, but very good in small doses. This place is packed. We satay the bar our bartender was fun and quick with her service.

Came here on 10/17/2015 around 845pm. Waited about 5 mins for a window booth. The first sign it was not going to be a good experience. The seat was wet, the hostess was aware and said she would get me a napkin to dry the seat. She never came back. Had to find a napkin on my own. Took about 5 mins for anyone to come to our table. We had water, and coffee and shrimp. skewers to start. Shrimp were stringy, and the guy didn’t take our order til our appetizer was finished. Food took about 25 – 30 mins to get to. our table my mom had the salmon with brown rice, the rice was hard and not cooked all the way. I first had chosen the Moroccan shrimp salad. I got about 4 shrimp and the heels of the bread !!! Wtf? The heels! The ends, whatever you may call it. I told the waiter i was not eating this. I then went with the chicken teriyaki. With brown rice. The chicken was good, the brown was hard and undercooked. Such a bad experience overall. I felt like I had to try so hard to get what I wanted, the appetizers, our food. Edible food… just not good. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Although it had a nice view, doesn’t necessarily mean anything, like the food or service will be good. I mean the place wasn’t even packed. Next time actually try to cook our food all the way, not just rush it out to us. Geeze !

Hey Elephant Bar… DOLESS Not only was the bartender a brat, but there’s no cell service and no decent food. All I can take away from the experience is… nothing. Strictly in business because of convenient location next to the airport and cool door handles(elephants). Peasantville, USA. Sincerely, Disappointed

Very rude server, she was not letting her fellow Filipinos rub shoulders with her. Sista very obviously rolled her eyes and looked extremely annoyed when we asked if we could wait to order until our friend arrived(she was 10 minutes away). After she walked away, we just stared after her very silently rightfully a bit shocked at her attitude! I already knew the place was going be wack before we got there so it didn’t help that she was mistreating us from the get-go. To top it off it was very hard looking through their menus since they give them to you on these clunky and gigantic stone slabs. I might add that our four menus took up the entire table. Food came out in decent time, but definitely not worth the price. The cheapest item on the menu(which I ordered) were the potstickers(at $ 7.99). They were extremely bland, but thankfully the sauce was there to add flavor. Great view of the planes flying in and out at SFO. Only reason for being there since my friend has a fascination with airplanes. But, really you can just sit outside and see all of that. Very disappointing place, so don’t waste your time even with the view.

I remember this Restaurant five years ago … It was definitely much better . What happens? Ahhh … The menu has changed not in a good way. Too fast and young waiters like pesky flies … We have only the memory of good food in this restaurant and wonderful views of the Bay. Hopefully …

Gorgeous setting right on the water. The place has an old school mahogany wood feel to it. Most of the tables have ocean views. The bar is tucked behind the hostess station and features a round console of flat screen televisions. We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday evening. The Diva run was in town, so it was quite crowded. We were quoted 35 minutes for a table for 3 and were seated right at 35 minutes. Service was great. Our drinks arrived right away. The garden salads soon followed. I chose a vinaigrette dressing and the waitress confirmed that I wanted the white balsamic. I have never had a dressing anything like it. It wasn’t quite a creamy texture but was very thick. It was a great cross of savory and tartness. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with a baked potato. The sandwich was a decent size. The mushrooms, peppers, onions, and cheese were melted on a flat top and smothered over the beef. The bun was uninspiring but it did the job. The potato was quite large and served only with butter. Any other toppings are an extra charge. It was cooked well and I ate it as it was. The strawberry lemonade is pretty sweet but I finished too glasses of it. I walked out paying a little over $ 20 for the entire meal and I consider that reasonable. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely return.
