I’ve been eating here with my family for over 20yrs. It’s my goto place for burritos. Al pastor super burrito is my favorite. I’ve taken classmates, co-workers and even my wife. Not one person has been disappointed. I can’t argue authenticity, but it’s always been #1 in my book. Earlier this year, the business was sold, but the new owners did skip a beat. Price went up a tad, but quality and taste remained consistent. Sorry to see it close. If San Mateo location is still run by the previous owners, I need to make a trip and try. Location and parking will be no where near as convenient but I must try.

This place is another great place for lunch! I ordered a fajita platter of a deal with fish which was rather yummerz. They have quite the selection of meats, and even have vegetarian options too! It is cash only so know that!

Las Palomas has been my favorite Taqueria for years! I am a big fan of the al pastor, it is the best I have found around the peninsula. Give me a super burrito on whole wheat tortilla anytime! They make generous portions that are very tasty! The staff is very nice and the place is family friendly. Don’t go there expecting homemade chips, though, they went bagged a few years ago. I prefer the green sauce to the red. They also make great super nachos!

Oh my.my.Las Palomas is my favorite burrito place! If you like El Super, you’ll LOVE Las Palomas. They don’t accept cards which is kind of annoying but oh well. I personally love the shrimp burrito, it’s amazing and I don’t feel disgusting after I eat it. The ladies in there are very friendly, it’s a cute little place if you ask me! The last time I went in there I strayed from my normal order and got a Taco Salad. DINGDINGDING! My new favorite! Nachos are great too!

La Señora sold the place. Two Asian guys own the place now. I wonder if La Señora sold the one in San Mateo too? The new owners didn’t mess with the food — it’s as tasty as ever. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and it was hella good — just how I remembered it. They are taking cash only for now. I talked to one of the owners and he is looking for a credit card machine — he better hurry up.

Las Palomas BLOWSEL Super Burrito out of the water. This is the official burrito joint of choice of anybody from the x650x. Quite often you will see local x650x legends frequent this burrito joint such as former members of legendary bands such as Dystrophy, Trotsky on Ice, The Ovens, Millbrae Brothers, Telly Savalas, and the Kyle Spleiss Experience quite often dine at this legendary establishment. This place is consistently good. Service ranges from great to «indifferent» as one reviewer said. But cmon, this is a tacqueria not the Four Seasons Hotel.

Went to Las Palomas for the first time last night. Had the best Carne Asada Burrito ever. Will be going back for sure. The décor is typical of what you would find at any«hole in the wall» place, but the service was good and the food was great. After a few more visits, I may bump up to 5 stars if the food is consistently as good as it was last night!

Just noticed them after traveling this span of El Camino for years — and will keep passing them from now on. The food is basic and filling, but what really turned me off was the service. Walk in, no line, four people sitting down. No one behind the counter. Hear noise coming from the back so there IS someone back there — cough loudly — nothing. Cough again — a head pops out and says something in Spanish — «wait» I think. Few more minutes, out comes a tired looking lady and just stares at me. I ask for two shrimp tacos, she keeps staring at me and then walks back to the back. Out comes another tired looking lady and asks in Spanish what I want. I again ask for two shrimp tacos — she walks away. Enters a tall white guy and gets in line behind me. Both women come back to the counter with big smiles on their faces and ask in broken English what he would like. I interrupt and ask if they got my taco order — they just nod. Tortillas are thrown on the grill and now a third lady comes out from the back. She is all smiles and starts talking to the tall white guy. The third smiling lady tells me to sit, but then changes her mind and charges me for my food. All the while she is taking my money she is talking to the guy. OK, I sit and wait and wait. .. only two frikn’ tacos for goodness sakes. Tall white guy gets his gianormous burrito brought to his table, I keep waiting. When tacos finally ready third lady tells me to come up and get them. Hmmm…don’t like disparity in service I’m thinking as I eat the pretty good shrimp taco. Too bad — first and last time due to service. 2 stars for food, 0 stars for service.

I recently visited Las Palomas for the first time in… maybe 12 years. The food was the EXACT same! Definitely has a TLC taste to their burritos. Everything is rich, fresh and flavorful. I had the BBQ Pork(El Pastor) Burrito. I love that they get a scoop of your meat and throw it on the grill. They get their delicious Spanish rice, beans, onion, cilantro, hot sauce, guac, crema and cheese ready. They then serve your piping hot grilled meat on top and roll it up. I’m usually an El Super guy, but this reminded me that Las Palomas is every bit as good as the top dog on the block.

I come often to order take-out burritos. Chicken = good Carne Asada = excellent! Carnitas = very good Al Pastor = good and spicy Better and cleaner than taco truck fare. And there’s parking at the back!

Little taquerias in California are as common as corrupt politicians in Washington. However little taquerias that serve kick ass fish tacos are rare, and this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ve had the burritos here and there’s nothing wrong with them, unless you;re some kind of burrito purist or something. Their fish tacos are inexpensive and totally worth waiting for(they take like ten minutes to cook — I love to stand around and watch other people be pissed off while their food waits for mine). Yes, the lady that runs this one(and her sister that runs the other one in San Mateo) are both nice people, but I go here because the food is good, inexpensive, and unless the Chinese place up the street is packed I can find parking out front. All that El Faro stuff is just smack. This place is whack. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Came in here a few times when Verde was still opened =[. The owner of this place is a really sweet lady. Every time I come here she has a smile on her face. I always order the super chicken burrito which comes with the usual, guacamole, cheese, cilantro(mmm cilantro), salsa, rice, black beans(get black beans!), and the yummy spicy chicken meat. They accept credit cards but I think there’s an extra charge for that so bring cash! Make sure to ask for chips and dip! mmm a burrito sounds good right about now.

Similar to a desert nomad in an ocean of techno Vikings taking flight on wings of time, I travel here pretty often. What? My previous statement makes no sense and neither does a taqueria that doesn’t serve a carne asada plate. This is another one of *those* taqueria’s. Blasphemy! The closest I’m able to get is the fajita’s. And that just doesn’t cut the muster. Or the cheese. The food here tastes pretty bland, and the salsa they serve is the same. This place is a step above taco bell, a step below El Faro. It’s that in-between place that I wouldn’t go to if it weren’t for the fact that is right across the street from me. The staff has always been really friendly though. So that’s a good point. Oh yeah, they accept debit cards. Not sure if they take credit though.

I love burritos, and I am sorta picky about them. We came here on Friday at lunch time and I had the carnitas super burrito. It was really tasty! Mini me had the chicken burrito, it was not nearly as good. Next time, I want tacos.

Cheap, quick, and tasty. If you’re in the area and looking for these three key points, drop by. The carnitas is some of the best here. I usually order regular carnitas tacos with cilantro, onions and salsa verde. Never fails. Always good. They’re wet style burritos are good too. Never really sat down and ate here so I can’t tell you too much about their plate dinners, but take out is awesome. Service could be better. The lady’s that make the food are super nice, but the boss lady seems to not know how to deal with customers too well.

This is your basic taqueria where you can get your basic«El Cheapie» beans and rice burrito for under $ 4. Many choices of meat including pollo entomatodado, pastor, carne asada, lengua(beef tongue), fish and shrimp. I usually go for the chile verde. They make it right in front of you so you can pick and choose what you want. Way better food than the Domino’s next door. I haven’t had anything I didn’t enjoy yet, except the beef tongue burrito(just personal preference) and once they made my order too spicy for me and my friends… maybe because I handed them a written list instead of telling/pointing out to them what I want when I make it. It is run mainly by Spanish-speaking Mexicans, so I’ve had problems ordering over the phone. Until I learn Spanish, I gotta order in person to make sure they know what I want. Which is all right, since I live so close to it, but just wanna let you know if you order by phone be careful. Since Chinese food is a little more expensive on the peninsula, Mexican is the way to go if you want bang for your buck. This is not a destination spot, but if Toto’s Pizzaria is too crowded, this is a safe bet. Lot of parking at the lot on Park Place. Not to be confused with La Paloma(The Dove) on San Mateo Ave, which has slightly better fish tacos.
