Slammin Salmon is a small hidden fish market located in Millbrook. I walked in there to pick up lunch for a coworker and I(we both ordered Salmon BLTs) and I was taken a back by the inside! Not at all what I was expecting! This fish market has a sitting area to enjoy lunch at. The store is also packed with fish and a TON of ingredients you might want to use to make your fish with when preparing it at home! The Salmon BLT was pretty tasty, but I think it would have been even tastier with some cream cheese(kind of like a philly sushi roll!) I also wish the sandwich had some more salmon on it, but I understand that they can’t load a ton of salmon on it(the sandwich was about $ 8 dollars). They packaged this sandwich with two different sides. You don’t get to choose the sides, they choose for you. The two sides I received that day were some sort of corn/bean mixture and then a fruit salad mixture, I wasn’t two crazy about these sides. I kind of wish I lived in Millbrook because this place would probably be my go-to-place for fresh fish and ingredients! I would go back for another visit or two! They do have an interesting menu with cool and tasty foods!

What a great place to grab lunch! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is fantastic. Favorites include the Ham & Brie sandwich, the Green Goddess Salad, and the Salmon Sandwich! The outdoor seating is also lovely. I’m also continually impressed by their willingness to ensure that their sandwiches are gluten-free, as I have celiac(and I know it can be a huge pain to try and prevent cross-contamination). I would like to offer the small advice of making sure every member of the staff is aware of where cross-contamination can happen specifically– at my last visit, I was given some very delicious fries that may have been fried in oil that was also used to fry breaded items.(this can still make celiacs quite ill). At the same time, if you’re very clear about diet limitations, the staff is absolutely incredible! I love stopping by when I’m driving through Millbrook.

Nothing special. I expected better in Millbrook. The fish in the display cases looks old and dried out. The lunch I had with my wife was disappointing. Overly breaded fish and chips with generic frozen French fries, and a «steak» sandwich with mystery meat.

It’s hit or miss. I’ve had some great lunches(the lamb burger is good, so is the pecan salad), and some poor ones(like the tempura shrimp special that came with like 4 shrimps). But I got tired of the completely green hard boiled egg yolks in my cobb salad. Please learn to cook an egg.

Delicious! Warm grilled sandwiches served with sides. Beautiful fresh fish available as well.

This is my favorite place to grab lunch when in Millbrook. The food is excellent, fresh/organic, and mixed in with a few originals. The set up is more or less picnic/take-out with the option of eating in or on the porch when the weather gets a little warmer.

Food was good and the service was good, this is more of a Deli with a sit down spot to eat which serves some pretty good food! Prices are not bad and again the food is good! Try it you will like it. You can even sit outside!

Ok, there is something to work with here, but they need to make a couple changes. The food is decent enough, but the service and presentation are horrific. First of all, if you are going to eat-in at a restaurant, they shouldn’t give you food in a snap-shut container with plastic forks, at least not if you are paying $ 10 for a sandwich. additionally, would it kill you to have salt/pepper/ketchup at the tables. Eating at a table out of a plastic container and squeezing ketchup out of your third packet is not a way to make you feel welcome. My wife’s salad was so bunched up in her to-go container that she was forced to basically drink dressing and then stuff salad into her mouth to achieve the appropriate tossing. While it may have been an one-time event, I left somewhat jaded after my last visit. After waiting at the table for 20 minutes, I got up to ask about our food only to learn that they had misplaced the order somewhere between the front counter and the kitchen(all of two feet). I had four screaming kids and I was about to shoot myself. If you order takeout and have your own utensils, this could be the place for you. Otherwise, move on down the road.
