We didn’t encounter any rudeness at Gilded Moon, but we were shocked by their astronomical estimate for framing, especially considering their small town location. Admitedly, they did a pretty good job, but it took them much longer than is customary, even at high end custom places. Not recommended.

I went to Gilded Moon because I live nearby and I really prefer to patronize local businesses when I can. I had some old maps I wanted to have dry mounted only. I have had some pieces framed there before and have enjoyed the quality, but despite the fact that I was already a customer of theirs, they refused to dry mount my map unless I spend the minimum of $ 350 to have it fully framed. I politely declined. If I were to run a business like theirs, I like to think I would be open to servicing clientele with a wide array of budgets and tastes. While searching for an alternative framer, I found a very pleasant shop two towns over that offers exceptional value and doesn’t require you spend a minimum in order for them to work with you. Much prefer this type of experience.

We visited this frame shop/art gallery three days ago and it’s a lovely place, situated on large and pretty grounds that have two big sculptures of people. The Gilded Moon is located in Millerton’s business district, which is really charming — and it’s on the same block as the Irving Farm Coffee House(see my separate review).
