Excellent service. Had chicken franchese, my partner and lobster tail. Chicken was very good. This is now my go to place for chicken franchese. My partner said lobster was just ok. Probably frozen. She wouldn’t order it again. Dessert was brownie cheesecake… Meh. I wouldn’t order again.

Came here to celebrate 2 bdays. All very disappointed. My salad was all lettuce and 2 grape tomatoes, very unexciting. My porterhouse was more rare than medium. Double cut veal chop was all bone, not much meat and certainly not a first cut as u would expect for $ 30. My husband’s surf and turf was swimming in mushroom sauce. Our side veggies of string beans and carrots were very crunchy and barely cooked. Used to be our go to special occasion place, i think not.

We had a 6:15 reservation on a Saturday. It really wasn’t necessary as the crowds rolled in after 7. Then it was packed. I started with coconut shrimp. It was served with a spicy mango salsa, four shrimp and I took two home. They were delicious and large. The hubs had a beet salad with candied walnuts and goat cheese. He enjoys it and could not finish all the beets. For our entrees I had grouper with crabmeat, artichokes, shiitake mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. It was served with red potatoes over spinach. MOUTHWATERING!!! I again took more than ½ home. The waitress forgot my salad which was actually a good thing. I would not have had room for the entrée. Hubby ordered the 8oz filet. It was wrapped in bacon and served with whipped potatoes over a portobello mushroom. While he commented it was very tasty and well seasoned, it was slightly overdone for him. Next time he will order in without the bacon. For dessert we shared a chocolate chip cookie tart with vanilla ice cream. It could have used more ice team but it was a nice way to finish off a scrumptious meal.

We went here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. My wife has celiac and can’t have gluten, so when my brother suggested the place, we called to find out what she could eat. They said that they had some foods that she could eat, but that their sauces had gluten. We asked if they could make a sauce without gluten and they said that they could. We should just tell the waiter and he would check with the chef. We arrived and ordered. After about half an hour, they delivered our appetizers at which point they told us the escargot had gluten. Apparently they cook them with bread crumbs and their chef is not skilled enough to cook them without the crumbs. The same applies to nearly every thing that we ordered. My wife ordered a horseradish encrusted salmon and she got a plain piece of salmon and some honey mustard. My sister-in-law is vegetarian and she tried to find something that she could eat, only to find that she could have a roasted vegetable platter. She couldn’t even have sauce, as they use chicken stock in most of them. The manager was not only unhelpful, but rude about our requests. It would have been understandable if they had difficulty accommodating our requests, if they hadn’t told us that they would be able to handle them. All in all, a great disappointment after a hopeful build-up. EDIT: They were also not careful about cross-contamination. My wife shows symptoms of having been glutened

The staff was good… but the food was not very fresh and tasty. I know that this central jersey, so I don’t blame them. But I recommend fresh meat, don’t accumulate the chicken for weeks in the freezer before serving.

OK I have been here numerous times. The food is generally good, portion size is generous, but when it is busy, it is difficult to hear table conversation. Service varies from good to a bit surly. Mostly fairly good, lots of specials, and it is a fall back kind of place, when in doubt and you have a appetite you will not be disappointed. Parking in the strip mall can be tricky.

Don’t you hate getting ripped off? I sure do… and that is exactly what happened when I dined here on January 6th2016… We were a party of 4 who had reservations. I gave my name at the counter and the hostess then said, «MaryAnn»? I said, «MaryAnn? No, my name is Nicole.» She snottily replied, «Well, just asking because we have a reservation for MaryAnn, too!» Okkkk… Once seated, our waitress named Brittany read off the specials and we then proceeded to order. I asked for the Pan Seared Gulf Shrimp which read ‘Served with Fresh Tomatoes, Shitake Mushrooms, Chives and Pignolis over Garlic Mashed Potatoes priced at $ 22.95. I asked if I could have it over broccoli rabe instead and she said there is an UPCHARGE for it. I said fine. I also asked for light on the oil as I am trying to eat healthy for an upcoming vacation. She said ok. My companion ordered the same exact dish as me. When the dishes came out, the shrimp were swimming in a butter sauce. There was no mention of a sauce in the description. The broccoli rabe was minimal in the middle of the dish and full of stems. There were no pignoli nuts in the dish. I am not one to return something especially with a group of people so I picked out what I could eat trying to wipe all of the sauce off. The guys paid the check so I did not see it. My boyfriend hit me up for my share of the bill the next day. I said, «That seems awfully high.» He showed me the check. Get this… We were charged for two sides of broccoli rabe totaling $ 15.90. Seriously? That is the upcharge to get broccoli rabe instead of mashed? I called this morning and asked for a manager. He said«speaking». I told him of the charge and he said, yes, we charge for sides. I said that is not an upcharge. He said we do not do upcharges or substitutions. Well, I said the waitress should have said the same. She left out the mashed and added a few stems of broccoli rabe. He never asked for the waitress’s name and he never gave his own name. He just said, «Next time you come in, we can maybe take care of it.» Ummm, no thanks.

Theyre swordfish was AMAZING, so buttery smooth with a punch of flavor from the citrus sauce and capers. I think they do their sauces really well. We ordered the seafood sampler as an appetizer, and it came with what looked like an ordinary marinara, but it was filled with so much flavor. I could not stop eating it with their warm fresh bread. The service was absolutely amazing as well. Need more of these kind of restaurants in east brunswick/miltown area!

I went here for a baby shower today and was mostly pleased with my experience. We did have a large amount of food brought out that were good proportions. There was an interesting sweet chili calamari that was different, yet tasty. I also enjoyed their zucchini sticks with Parmesan. For dinner I had the salmon and thought it was fairly good. Not the best I’ve had but I did enjoy it! For dessert I had a chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake with a cookie crust and it was delicious! Some of the waitresses seemed annoyed but there were a few parties going on so they may have just been overwhelmed. I did enjoy the food but I ended up with a stomach ache, and so did another friend of mine. That could just be from being overstuffed. I would give it one more try if in the area.

I want to first state that I did not dine in at this restaurant. I tried one of the specials that was being offered that night. It was a bone-in rib eye with gorgonzola cheese and a side of vegetables. It was ordered medium, but it was cooked medium rare. It was a good idea with the gorgonzola cheese, but there was just too much of it. There was an overpowering taste. The vegetables were cooked well and were seasoned alright. It was an average dish I thought at best. Will I go back? Did not go, but I would be interested.

Great steak as well as a wonderful calamari app that was prepared with balsamic ant topped with diced tomatoes. I enjoyed a veal chop that was prepared perfectly. Very nice atmosphere most enjoyable BYOB. Cheers

I’m surprised by all of the 4 and 5 star reviews. The only thing that makes this place worth going to is that it’s byob and the prices are good. I’ve tried the grouper special, a shrimp dish, the crab cakes, the Bronzino, and the crab pasta special and have not once really enjoyed my meal. The grouper special was definitely the best of the meals that I have had. I wouldn’t go here by choice; my husbands family really loves this place, so we go once or twice a year with about a group of 10. I will say that the calamari special for the appetizer is good. This place is a pass for me and at 3 stars I’m being generous

Have dined here several times in the past 2 months, and have very much enjoyed my meals. I just read the other reviews of this place, and I am actually somewhat surprised at some of the negative comments, although I have not had to deal with any management issues or trying to resolve a bad meal — so I just haven’t crossed that bridge yet. As mentioned, no liquor license here but a well stocked liquor store in the same plaza. I feel like this actually saves us a few bucks on our check, considering what restaurants charge for drinks nowadays. They are perfectly fine with you carrying in wine(not sure if hard liquor is allowed, but probably not). They have an awesome sweet chili calamari on the appetizer menu, and the regular calamari is not too shabby either. Very good marinara sauce too. They also offer an appetizer sampler for 2, which is a lot of food on one plate — calamari, fried zucchini, fried clams(almost laughably tiny). I’ve had very good luck with the appetizers I’ve tried. Okay, and I know it sounds ridiculous to talk about the bread, but their bread is really good(and brought out warm too!). Most of the entrees I’ve tried have been veal. Now, anyone who knows veal knows one thing — it’s REALLY easy to undercook or overcook. It has to be done just right. And I can happily say that(so far) it has been well cooked each time. One time was Franchese, another was breaded and served with greens on top. Both delicious. Just to touch briefly on service — I have had absolutely no issues at all. My servers have all been super attentive, helpful in answering questions, my water has been refilled frequently, empty plates cleared quickly, blah blah blah blah. All good. While it’s not as impressive as some of the NYC Italian places I’ve been, it is a gem for the Central NJ area… especially in an area that’s overly infested with chain restaurants.

Been here a few times as a guest. The food mostly seems well prepared, but I don’t really have a great experience there. There is not a single vegetarian main dish. Not one. Ridiculous. So we got salad and sides. Broccoli rabe was severely underdone. The Bread is very good, but seriously, can you cut the slices more than half way through for god’s sake? Now that Tomato Factory in the same strip mall has closed you are free to offer pasta on your menu without a conflict, so why don’t you? I was bordering on giving it two stars but my dining companions seemed to be okay(didn’t seem«thrilled» though) with their food so I’m being lenient with three stars. Really not an overall crowd pleaser in my book. Okay for a general night out(for non-vegetarians) but it’s certainly not a foodie destination. Service is adequately professional but definitely not friendly. While I don’t like servers who pretend to be your friend and are annoyingly affectionate, I definitely felt an icy chill from the staff here.

I just finished dining here for my birthday dinner, and I have to say is that although my meal was enjoyable and the wait staff was absolutely courteous and helpful, the management here is awful. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday dinner because he heard so many good recommendations about it. The waitress who waited on us was polite, helpful, and very kind. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. I had the petite filet, which was enjoyable, despite being wrapped in bacon and covered in breadcrumbs. My boyfriend ordered the lobster imperial. When he received the lobster, he noticed a lot of the shell was burnt, but didn’t want to make a scene because of my birthday. As he continued with his meal, he couldn’t ignore how dry the lobster was and decided to inform the waitress, who was very apologetic for her part. Sergio, the manager came out and was unapologetic. He simply picked up the plate with ¾th of my boyfriends meal on it and left with ABSOLUTELYNOAPOLOGY. He was dismissive, rude, and frankly I do not understand how he is a manager. My boyfriend ate only a some chewy bits of dry lobster and was still held responsible for $ 50 it cost, which would’ve been no problem had Sergio or the chef apologized on behalf of the restaurant. Sergio’s dismissive attitude made us feel like our business and our happiness was not important to him and we will not return because of him. The waitress returned and informed up dessert and coffee was on the house. I will say dessert was delicious but it couldn’t undo the poor training of the management. I still will not return or give any more money to this restaurant.

We arrived without reservations and hostess was kind enough to seat us within 10 mins. Meanwhile there was about 20people waiting to be seated. After seated we had several waiters come by; one for water, one for bread, another to check if we were okay, and our waiter. We loved the attention. Mother’s Day Menu was prix fixe 4 course which was a pleasant surprise. It was still a pretty large selection but I feel it makes it easier to select. All our meals came out in unison. I tell you it was perfect timing no long waits. They were checking our table constantly. Loved every minute. The food was to delicious and serving were bigger than expected. Everyone left with a take along Baggie. My ravioli was scrumptious. I inhaled it. My son finished cleaning my sauce with out artisan Italian bread. I couldn’t continue knowing the next course was expected to be sinfully delicious. Then came out our Caesar Salad, which we all finished. Enough said. As expected I had the Best Seafood Medley Ever! Scallops were cooked to perfection and it felt buttery on my tongue. Shrimps was full of flavor, crab cakes were breaded just right. On dessert, the waiter comes and place a large tray with all their available selections. We all chose a different one since we always share. They were all heavenly. I can honestly say this restaurant is a perfect A+. A Great end to my Mother’s Day!!!

Came here for Mother’s Day! They had a prefixed 4 course menu. Oh my gosh to die for! This place is in a strip mall and the food tastes like a 5 star new york restaurant. The seafood risotto I ordered was one of the bests risottos I’ve ever had. Everything is cooked to order so they require you order everything at once. The seafood is super fresh. Any dish we ordered was so rich in flavor, cooked perfectly, and delicious. The desserts were really good as well. They have cheesecakes! The service matched the food. The waiters are attentive and the water is filled up constantly. Good place for a family dinner.

Have been here numerous times. The last time here absolute horrible inattentive service, horrible food quality, management is argumentative. Coming from a person who was a waitress for over 5 years, I understand the restaurant business and would never want to leave a bad review. This place deserves it. Horrible food. Horrible service. Would NEVER recommends this place. Do yourself a favor stay far, FAR away.
