I always have nostalgic feelings when I eat a cheese on the stick. This place is cute and definitely not part of any sane diet. And I love it.
When I was in college and working at a mall nearby, I ate at Hot Dog on a Stick regularly.
Don’t come if you’re in a rush. They cook to order and there is usually just 1 worker. Oh and their flavored lemonade is The BEST! What do they put in it? It’s super good.

I used to go to this place a lot while I’m shopping at the mall, but never wrote a review! Decided to write one because I’ve visited this place a billion times, and what really compelled me to write a review was one of the workers PJ had to deal with me and my crazy friend fighting over to pay! He was really patient and friendly LOL so shoutout to him for having to deal with us fight in front of the register!
Also I had the turkey dog, which was really good because it was only 220 calories. A good place to grab a quick snack and be on your way

Staff is friendly but depending who’s there, your order may get screwed up. One instance I didn’t want salt on my fries. They didn’t listen so I ended up waiting for a new batch. On another, the fries were undercooked so I had to wait, again, for them to cook it more.

Great customer service and they have great deals when you buy a Souvenir cup of lemonade, you get $ 2 each on any hotdog on stick and fries. always bring your souvenir cup next time. You will only be charged $ 2.50 of lemonade instead of $ 5 when you were originally charged.
Now they offer 1 or 3 gallon lemonade for catering orders too. Good for catering orders or for parties. This is good as it gets.
However this is the nearest Hot dog on a stick branch when you are in the east Bay Area. Check out their website for more info.

Waited about 20min for our order. I asked how long it was gonna take to make mini corn dogs and she forgot about my order. & made other customers food right away. Still waiting she said to wait 2 min and it’s been about 7min. Like she sees us waiting and she makes us wait more. She said sorry for the wait. And gives only 2 extra mini bite dogs. When it’s 8 for $ 3. Honestly really mad at the fact she took up my whole 30min lunch & she served two or three people food when we were there before them. This workers name is Mary Ann. Very displeased.

I am a regular here and I love the food, but what makes this location stand out to me is the service. Monica was great she anticipated my need. It’s the little thing that are big things and this young lady will do well by her great customer service skills.

It’s pretty amazing sometimes where you get absolutely great service from the least expected place. And this is where I found great service. Not that I expected them to be rude, but granted they are at a mall serving a ton of people each day, pressing lemonade and frying your corndogs every other minute.
So I don’t think there’s much else to say, their food is just like any other HDOS but service was awesome and that’s enough to bring people back.

Why can’t I have a Hot Dog on a Stick closer to home?
Their lemonades and dogs on a stick? So good… so drooling… and now so regretting I didn’t get the cheese on a stick.
They have this penguin cup, large refillable cup for $ 4.60. I got talked out of buying 2 drinks for 3 drinks for almost $ 10. It was genius! Why?
$ 4.60, ask for 3 separate cups, pour the 3 drinks out, and with the purchase of that new, and reusable, cup– you get a FREE refill.
Also, when you go back, it’s only $ 2 for the refill, and it’s like a larger than large cup. Plus, I got it for the penguin, it was a bonus for all the other tips from the lovely worker behind the counter. Keep on pumping that lemonade!
It’s best to find a seat after you order. It takes a few minutes to fry the snacks up, even longer when everyone and their in-​laws are there to shop during the holidays.

Tried to order a «meal» for $ 6.99 (two stick items and a fry) but ended up being charged individually for each item. Whats the point of having a meal option when everything is going to be charged on its own? My cashier was Jimmy, maybe he didn’t know what he was doing or maybe it was because I ordered a small cup and denied his upsell. Ha
Either way, don’t order a meal because you won’t be charged as one!

I don’t know why this place doesn’t deserve 5 stars. Maybe because what it sells is so simple that giving it 5 stars may diminish the value of the rating system when compared to finer dining experiences. In any case, I call these designer corn dogs. They make it fresh when you order. The batter is semi-​sweet. It’s fried to a nice crunch. The dog is flavorful and juicy. It really hits the spot. Eat it with mustard and ketchup and it’s a home run!
Also order the lemonade. They squeeze the lemons fresh every day. The sweet and sour is perfectly balanced. My go to corn dog spot!

We were in the neighborhood and decided to swing by the Great Mall. My son was in the mood for Hot Dog on a Stick but we arrived 5 minutes before 11am. The staff behind the counter informed me that they do not open until 11am and that the mall opens at 11am.
So I went to order my daughter’s food somewhere else and came back to Hot Dog on a Stick at 11am because my son didn’t want anything else.
But guess what she told me next. Sorry I’m still not ready. It’ll be 5 – 10 more minutes before I can open.
Honestly, if you say you are going to be open at 11am, shouldn’t you be open at 11am.
It’s 11:10am and she’s still not ready. Guess they aren’t strict about their start time and I hope the owners/​managers know they are missing out on sales when they don’t open on time and disappoint customers by not adhering to the store hours.

I have to admit, even after working at this store for 6 years, I eat the food and drink the lemonade every time I come in to work. As a HDOS fan, I can’t get enough of the quality food and lemonade, not to mention the customer service these employees dish out.
With the constant coupons, twitter and facebook deals, and special events, it’s always a good time to visit a HDOS. If you are looking to cater a party, they do it. If you have a corporate event, let ‘em know, they come to you. Want to try some delicious seasoned frys, they’ve got those. In the mood for a new flavored lemonade, you’re probably right on time for a feature flavor.
