Delicious! I loved everything we ordered, and we ordered a lot! Don’t let the look of this place turn you away or you will miss out on a treat.

It is rare phenomenon that pretty much everything that we ordered was fantastic. This place is great value for the buck. ProTip: Their Mutton Seekh Kebab was the best.

As you read this review, please keep in mind, this is based on one visit. We ordered BUTTERCHICKEN to go. It’s in a run-down, nearly dead plaza. If you want to learn the true meaning of «hole-in-the-wall», come here and you will experience it first hand. I would not come here to eat-in. Sketchy, run-down and doesn’t look clean. The BUTTERCHICKEN was somewhat passable, but if I’m judging what the rest of the menu is like based on the taste of this dish, I’d have to say it’s not a pass. Lots of 4 star Unilocal ratings from people who are impressed with the prices and I’m not sure what else. Some peeps calling this«my favorite Indian restaurant in the South Bay.» Wow. At that, I have no words. I *might* do one more to-go order from there, just to see if there’s something I’m missing. Maybe I mis-ordered, but for me, BUTTERCHICKEN is the litmus test to see whether an Indian place is good or not.

Thousand plus reviews and four stars on Unilocal?Had to check it out. Plaza is kind of sketch, the restaurant is a total hole in the wall. Wasn’t busy when we arrived at 6:30, but did fill up a bit as time passed. Upon entering, take a menu, a seat and peruse the foods. When you’re ready, order at the counter, grab your sauces and water from the fridge, and sit and wait for your hot meal to arrive. When you’re done, pay at the counter. Among three people, we ordered two orders of samosas(2 pieces each), chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, two garlic naan, and one plain naan via the largesse of the Unilocal check-in. Samosas are the size of a small fist. There is lots of fried dough on the outside and hot filling on the inside. They pour some stewed chickpeas on it which softens it just enough and goes great with the samosa. I could probably get full on just two samosas myself. Chicken tikka masala was familiar, saucy, comforting, mild and sweet. Large chunks of chicken and plenty of sauciness for that naan, because you ordered naan, right? Of course you did. Butter chicken was loaded with lots of flavors, noteworthy one being browned butter. I’ve never tasted such strong nuttiness and sweet butter flavors as in this butter chicken. Spicier than the chicken tikka masala. Of course, perfect with naan. Naan. I love naan. I could eat it just by itself, but it complements all saucy dishes so well. Garlic has lots of fresh chopped garlic bits on it. Perfectly hot, charred, chewy and crisp and delicious. All in all, pretty darn good. Would get Indian food here again.

I really like this place. Very good food. Very reasonable prices. Informal, quasi self-serve. I’ve been here about 10 times and have enjoyed it each time. Not much to look at, but who cares. I would not go there on a first date, but for all other events I would recommend it.

Unfortunately, our trip there was somewhat disappointing. I went there with someone who likes Indian food. Me being indifferent but I do like food with lots and lots of spices. We ordered: chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, lamb biryani and mango lassi. The portion is huge! Price is cheap. Mango lassi is delish! Creamy, sweet and smooth. But… The lamb biryani is too spicy(like spicy spicy! And although I don’t have the strongest stomach, I eat spicy food regularly). It’s flavorful though. If you mix it with some plain rice, the spiciness should be on a safe level. The lamb was quite juicy and not chewy so that’s good. Chicken tikka masala and palak paneer were disappointing. Chicken tikka masala being the standard for Indian restaurant, this come short of being notable or good. And so was the paneer. The cheese curd was decent but overall it was a meh dish for me. It’s self-service and the table was quite sticky when I sat there. Place is located near a seedy shopping complex too. You come for the price and portion. Maybe others have better experience than me but I’ll skip next time.

Don’t let the inside of the restaurant fool you. When you walk in, the place doesn’t have all that great decorations. When you walk in, they hand you the menu. Just remember that they don’t take your order like most restaurants. When you’re ready to order, you must walk to the cashier. When you’re thirsty, you must get it yourself! Definitely get the butter chicken with rice or garlic naan bread. The chicken and the creamy sauce was so delightful. This is my favorite and would not order anything else.

My husband and I ate here on Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m. There was limited parking available in front of the restaurant, although I saw many people creating impromptu spaces. We entered the restaurant, and the host asked us how many people were in our party. He then handed us two paper menus and told us to pick a table and return to the counter when we were ready to order. The tables and chairs were clean, but no frills. There were two televisions showing Indian music videos, with low sound. The menu was neatly laid out with descriptions of each item. They offered a wide range of food within a very reasonable price.($ 0.99 plain naan!!) We ordered vegetable samosas, chicken curry, and plain naan. Everything came out to less than $ 13. Plates, utensils, cups, and drinks are self-serve. However, a server brought our food to our table. We received all of our dishes within 10 – 15 minutes after ordering. The food was fresh and warm. The samosas were crispy with generous filling, and the plain naan was soft and warm. However, parts of it were burned. The chicken curry was good with the right amount of flavoring and a lot of sauce. The chicken was moist. By the time we left, the entire restaurant was full and people were waiting for tables. Overall, I would return to eat here. There are other Indian restaurants that I like better. However, you can’t beat this combination of food quality and price.

I ordered goat-curry and chilli chicken. Chilli chicken was excellent, but their goat curry was average tasting.

Why haven’t I reviewed this place yet? I love this place! It’s weird because every time I come here there’s barely anyone eating but it’s super good and there’s a bunch of Unilocal reviews too… Anyways, get the: Garlic chicken(spicy good, kinda has a Szechuan feel to this dish) Butter chicken(better than the tikka masala) Chicken tandoori(tender and good but takes awhile to make/come out) Palak paneer(a little stingy on the paneer) Raita(it’s like Indian sour cream, I put it on everything haha) Garlic, cheese, onion, or plain naan My dad loves the goat curry too Anyways the price point is awesome. Most dishes are($ 6.99−7.99) although the goat curry is $ 10. What bugs me is the ambiance/tables need to be wiped and there’s no garden salad or side salad available :///these are not major turn offs so they still get a 5 star for their value and delicious food!!!

This is a bona fide local gem — authentic, delicious, and a great value for your buck. No wonder they have consistently stayed at 4 starts on Unilocal.Justified! Tandoori chicken and Seekh(ground lamb with chili bits) kabob both so flavorful and tender. The tenderness really is amazing. The marinated crust on the chicken! Even when I was full it left me wanting more. So addictive! Seriously the lamb was like a revelation. The way it yields inside your mouth, and the umami of the meat… I will be dreaming of it. Keema(minced meat) naan was well spiced. Very interesting. The hubz called it Indian pizza LOL. He’s right — it was nicely charred and the perfect texture. We’ve had the onion & garlic naan before and those are good as well. In fact I don’t think I cared for naan before, until this place. It was an enlightenment. The raita side was a remarkable pleasant surprise. Again, not something I usually care for, but here it’s got a kick to it that’s got me hooked. The yogurt used tasted very wholesome. I ate it all when the hubz was done haha! If I started first he wouldn’t get any! Vegetarian biryani had a great variety of vegetables in it and the spices were well balanced and rich although not particularly piquant(not necessarily an issue). Rice was fluffy. I could eat this everyday. Out of all that we ordered the gobi(cauliflower) parantha was the least outstanding. Description said spiced but I did not detect any. Texture was good though. It went extremely well with the meat items. I also enjoyed it with a couple spoonful of chutney(present at every table). I believe there are at least 2 other kinds of chutney in the fridge as well, self-serve. Water, plates and utensils are all self-serve. They hand you menus as you enter. You select a table, decide what you want, then come back to the cash register to order. You should note your table number when you order. Or you can point, like we did :-) But you don’t pay until after the meal. You go back to your table, and they bring your food to you. Service was swift. 2TV’s playing 1 Bollywood movie at a time. I like that it is quiet enough to talk(only been there for lunch, can’t speak for dinner.) All that food and it was only $ 28. Boxed up the remainder which is a whole meal in itself! Vive Naan N Masala!

I must admit, I’m a bit of a novice when I eat indian food. But a friend and I were really craving some carbs and spices so decided to give this place a try. [THESERVICE] As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the place is a serve yo’ self kind of place. Definitely a more unique experience but easy to pick up. Water pitchers are stored in the slide-door refrigerator while plates, utensils, and a huge air pot of chai tea and milk are up for grabs at a small table at the front. When you’re ready to order walk up to the cash register and go back when you want to pay. [THEFOOD] –Goat Curry($ 9.99) This is my first time having goat curry, and I’m honestly not much of a fan. A little too salty for my taste. –Butter Chicken($ 7.69) I love butter chicken, and this definitely hit the spot for comfort food. The sauce went great with our garlic naan($ 1.69), which was also fluffy and delicious. –Samosa($ 2.99) First time having a samosa. kinda dry for me honestly, but went well with the butter chicken sauce. For now, it seems like I’m just a butter chicken and naan kind of girl. I’m open to trying other things here next time though!

Cheap indian food?! 99% Indian consumers! Delicious veggie options! This is my favorite place for Indian food in SoBay. Came here for lunch and enjoyed the humble white walls of this delicious place. Everything is very self-serve, as you order at the sole register and find a table to sit in. Food comes out very quick and with lots of flavor! My favorite was the veggie samosa. Maybe it was because I was starving, or because it was the first plate to come out… but the samosas were deliciously stuffed and had the best chickpea sauce drizzled all over it. My mind was blown. We had two orders of veggie samosas, a chickpea curry, and both naans(garlic and original). DE. LISH. We even had to take our yogurt curry home as well as some remaining naan and leftover samosas. Our total was under $ 10 per person which is another reason why I would totally come here again for lunch. The only downside is that there are no restrooms(not even to was your hands), and the area might be easy to miss if you don’t know to turn into the SAVERS grocery lot. But those are not anything that would take away from my foodie experience. The place is clean enough, water is self-serve in their janky fridge, and I didn’t even feel out of place as a non-Indian person. Cheers! See ya soon, Naan & Masala!

Was craving some Indian food while leaving Great Mall and the Unilocal app suggested this. Placed an order for pickup and it was ready in the 12 minutes it took to drive there. The place wasn’t fancy by any means, pretty typical looking Indian resto, kinda reminded me of SF’s Naan n Curry. The place was pretty busy tho with all sorts of folks dining in and picking up. Our order of chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, bangain bharta, two rice, and two naans came out to like $ 30. All the dishes, especially the baingan bharta(mashed eggplant with onions, ginger, and spices) were bangin’! Super delicious with deep authentic tasting flavors, not the watered down overly creamy stuff you find in SF. Pleasantly surprised and I’m happy to have added a North Indian takeout spot near the Great Mall area that closes late(10pm).

Located in the same plaza as Savers in a «not so great» area of Milpitas. Drive all the way to the back of the plaza and you won’t miss it. I’ve heard of this place but never got around to trying it till recently. We ordered takeout on a Saturday evening around 8. Called it in and 30 mins later, our food was all ready for pickup. The place seems pretty clean and not very busy. Handful of patrons coming in to also pickup their carryout. Ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, 2 orders of tandoor chicken legs(4 thigh/drumsticks), chicken boti, vegetarian cauliflower and potatoes, side order of basmati rice, 8 nans. All for $ 56 with tax. Fed 7 people! Now thats a steal. Portions were good and flavors were on point! Very happy with our dinner. My favorite was the cauliflower and potatotes! Luckily its located close to where I live. will be back!

I have been going to this place for a while. Self service, but they deliver the foods quickly. I always order their butter chicken and Keema matar along with Plain Naan. These are pretty good dishes on their menu. Pricing is very reasonable. Did not like their sweet lassi that much(very low sweet). Their mango lassi is good. Tip: You can ask for extra gravy or any other extra feature for your entrée while ordering and they usually deliver as asked. Overall great place. !!!

I found a way to warm up on these cold days: eat Indian food. Specifically, Naan N Masala. Halloween was warm, But within a few days, we had one shower and one rainstorm, and the temperature dropped 15 degrees. I’m not quite ready for that yet, and I found myself singing«I’m Dreaming Of A Palm Springs Christmas». I didn’t go to this restaurant to take care of the cold, but it still worked. The area has seen better days, and if you don’t know how to get there, then you can’t find it.(Driving on Calaveras Blvd. going east is the easiest way to get there, but you can’t see it from that road.) Naan N Masala is tucked away in a far corner behind Savers. It’s easy to think«I’m planning to eat THERE???» Inside is not much better, clean but quite bare-bones. Flat-screen TV playing the latest hits from Bollywood. It did not try to give diners the impression that this is what you get in Mumbai. But you know what? Many times, you get the best food in these choke-and-pukes. I’ve eaten very little Indian food in my 29(!) years, so I don’t have a lot of comparison to rate it 5 stars. Still, it was good. I had the garlic chicken and onion naan, and washed it down with a Limca(I could have a Coke, but why not have the ethnic experience). Total hit = just over $ 12. The Limca took a little bit for my taste buds to get accustomed to, and the chicken was very hot to begin with. But oooooo-ee, was it delicious. The sauce was loaded with garlic; I like garlic. If you love spice, you’ll love Indian food, and the garlic chicken had lots of it. I’ve come to love naan after that one meal; love at first bite. And when it got into my stomach, it warmed my entire body, which had gotten a permanent chill due to the sudden change of weather. I feel better now. Sure, I’d eat there again. I now have the dilemma of choosing between trying something new in the South Bay or going with a sudden favorite like Naan N Masala; I love having these choices. ..

Holy. I can’t believe I just found this place. I’ve been frequenting other Indian restaurants around Fremont but never gave this place a chance. I am SO glad I did! From the outside it looks a little run down and it’s a strange location but who cares if it’s this good. Their service was very friendly and all of their food was delicious. I got both chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Just because. Tikka masala is better in my opinion even though both are almost identical. Got the lamb curry too and it was delicious and tender. The garlic naan had so much garlic on it and all of the food had an AMAZING flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. On top of that, the food is CHEAP! Will be coming back! This place satisfied all my Indian food needs.

At first glance, the restaurant itself looked pretty run down and ghetto. I was a little skeptical when I arrived because it was a little off putting, but decided to eat here anyway. The restaurant is «self serve» so you get your own water/tea, utensils to your own table. Order up front, and pay after dining. My friend and I ordered the samosa, lamb curry, vegetarian curry, and some garlic naan. The garlic naan was pretty good! I really liked it. I didn’t try the lamb curry, but my friend said it was pretty delicious. The vegetarian curry I had was a little sour. kinda weird, but it wasn’t bad. The food itself was pretty good. However, I find that the sanitation of the restaurant a little questionable… The tables were sticky, and the utensils/plates/cups didn’t look very clean… I really had to use the restroom but the toilet was broken, they fixed it eventually, but I still didn’t want to go back for a second time. Basically, I was a little grossed out with going to the back because the kitchen area etc didn’t look too appealing… and that’s where my food came from! If I ever do come back, I would totally consider doing take out and eat in the comfort of my own home.
