Woah this place is terrible. I was staying at the Sheraton and came in with a very low expectation since let’s be honest, a hotel restaurant can rarely impress someone. The waitstaff could care less about working there and the food was absolutely disguting. Do not waste your money here.

I attended a conference being held at the hotel and decided to pre-order lunch. When I picked up my lunch, not only was it cold but my burger was over cooked. I will not use eat here again. — Disappointed!

Ceasar salad — excellent. Calamari– chewy w old bay, fried banana peppers and basil on top. Not so much. Very weird combo that I didn’t care for Place was basically empty and service staff nice.

We just ate(June 30, 2013) at The Bistro in the Sheraton San Jose because our friends had a coupon for a free entrée. As Arnold would say, «Big Mistake.» All four of us could not remember when we had a worse(and expensive with no drinks!) meal despite the free entrée. My chicken dish was supposed to come with fingerling potatoes, but they were apparently replaced by soggy vegetables out of a can. My friend’s main meal arrived very late because«there was not enough room on the table.» Actually, we should have initially known better because there were no other customers in The Bistro when we arrived and there was no on-line menu to review ahead of time, which is always a bad sign. In fact, my friend called The Bistro about the menu and someone read the menu to him over the phone. Finally, the tables were not even set up for customers when we arrived. A word to the wise is sufficient!

Walked in to sit down and have a cup of coffee while waiting for our friends in the hotel. The guy there was acting a little nervous that all we wanted was coffee and not food, like he was almost annoyed that our bill wasn’t going to be higher and subsequently his tip as well. Needless to say, it was the same damn coffee as the hotel lobby that was FREE, but now we had to pay for it! Meh…

I was hesistant to eat here, after seeing the last Unilocal review was in 2011, but I’m glad I went! We were looking for a quiet place to have a last minute Valentines Day dinner, and my hubby suggested The Bistro. I was troubled by the fact there is no information on their menu options, and the reviews on Unilocal and Trip Advisor are quite old, but I was very pleasantly surprised. We arrived at about 5:30, and the place was literally empty. I guess they’re busier during the work week, and this WAS Valentines Day, but I was still surprised at how few people came in to eat while we were there. I had the steak, hubby had the fish special(Halibut, I think), and both meals were very good. We split the Caesar salad — good thing since the split portions were large, and I was happy with the glass of J Lohr Chardonnay I had. I would say the menu options are a bit on the pricey side — $ 32 for my steak and $ 13 for a glass of wine, but I’m glad we went. It was relaxing, quiet, and a very good way to spend Valentines Day!

Was here last Friday for a business/interview lunch. It’s a good place to go to if you want to go somewhere quiet to talk. I like the modern clean deco of the restaurant, the garden view, and friendly staff. The food is OK…(it’s a hotel restaurant afterall) I had their angel hair pasta with sausage. I really like their bread. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

**************** REVIEW417 ****************** Located in the Sheraton Hotel, the Bistro is a casual resto overlooking the garden courtyard, fountains and the pool of the hotel. They open all day with breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner specials. I usually come here when my customers are in town and stay here. Sometimes just for some power business lunch. Designed with the traveler in mind, they offer all kind of hot and cold sandwiches, pasta, fish, chef’s specials made with fresh ingredients, and salads. Some of their healthier choices I usually order here: — Soup of the day, the veggies & chicken noodle soup are always winner here. — Shrimp taco — frilled shrimp, with fresh lettuce, salsa and guacamole. — Caesar Salad or the Walnut Salad — giant portions for entrées! — Veggies Wrap — with grilled veggies, asparagus, tomato, really nice & serve with side of fresh fruits as well. — Chicken Panini — hot and fresh!
Service is always good here, although their wine list is limited!
