This is probably going to be my new favorite breakfast place! «Probably» only because it’s no where close to my house. Upon arrival I was shocked that we were seated so quickly! Especially because it was Sunday and it was Father’s Day. The waiter was super attentive as was his supporting staff who was constantly refilling our water and coffee. The food was fresh and tasted like something that only your grandma could whip up! The blueberry coffee cake was to die for! We ordered a couple of pieces for the road :) portion size was great! I can’t remember the name of the plate I ordered but it was the basic two eggs, potatoes, chorizo and coffee cake. I always like to try the basics on my first visit plus I wanted to order a little light to save room for the coffee cake. Which by the way was so big I couldn’t finish.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Staff was very nice and paid attention to my needs. Food was delivered quickly and at the proper temperature. I had one of the blueberry shortcakes and was very surprised at how large it was. It could have been meal in itself.

Only good things to say about this place. I was happy with my food, and was able to find something yummy for my picky eater daughter. The stuff was nice and the best part… no wait on a Sunday morning. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a restaurant on a Sunday morning in San Jose and didn’t have to wait.

a bit of a hidden breakfast/brunch spot in north san jose… certainly the shopping center that houses this hobee’s location was very quiet on a saturday morning around 9am. our group of 6 had no trouble finding parking and then securing a table comfortable enough to sit. i guess i was expecting this place to be packed and our crew having to wait a while before being seated, but i was glad that wasn’t the case! as with the other locations, this hobee’s had their traditional breakfast/brunch menu items like eggs, hash browns, oatmeal, fruit, breakfast sammies, and signature blueberry coffee cake. in addition, they had a specials menu as well as their seasonal coffee cake, a peach walnut flavor, one that i hadn’t seen before. i ordered the mexican-inspired chorizo bowl, which consisted of black beans, chorizo, peppers, onions, salsa, and scrambled eggs on a bed of mexican rice with a whole wheat tortilla on the side. it was certainly a lot of food for such an early meal, good thing i got my 10-miler in just before this! i requested no chorizo, since i’m not a pork eater, and also egg whites instead of regular eggs. when my meal was served, it thought it looked so pretty with the green, red, white, and specks of yellow and orange! it was very healthy and delicious and i could barely finish half since the serving was so generous! on the side, they also gave me a huge slice of their blueberry coffee cake(which i wasn’t expecting) and i made sure to eat some of this hobee’s specialty since i can’t get this anywhere else. the cake itself was a bit dry, but i guess that’s coffee cake for you. it also could have used some more blueberries, but at least the berries weren’t overly dry and did sweeten up the cake. for all this food, i had no issues paying $ 15, which included tax and tip. the waiter was also kind enough to split up our checks into 6 receipts, which made it much easier to pay afterward. however, i did feel a bit rushed b/c he brought us the checks before we had finished eating, even though it wasn’t very busy at that hour. for the quality and quantity of food, this hobee’s gets a 4-star rating from me. i’ll definitely be back the next time i’m in the area or my group chooses to to dine here!

Came here for a lunch with my coworker. Had the chicken Santorino. To be frank, besides the country potatoes that were«good», the rest was extremely disappointing, not to say mediocre. The veggies were frozen veggie that had been steamed and the chicken was… huh…how to say a «flat piece of chicken steak», very chewy, bland… it could have tasted like anything but chicken. The bread was oily. Nothing gourmet, nothing delicate, nothing delicious besides the potatoes. 12 $ before tip/tax for this no way. It reminded me of a bad school canteen food. Service on the slow side. This place looks very old therefore doesn’t make you feel so clean(but it’s just old, I do believe it’s clean), especially in bathrooms. Many better breakfast /brunch place in town…

Good food, amazing customer service, and fair prices. A regular go-to place when I have time and don’t want to cook. Tip: the mimosas they make are awesome!

Two words: COFFEECAKE I could eat that stuff every day. I’ve been here multiple times and also had it in bulk take-out. I usually just get eggs and bacon when I come to places for bfast. This last time was actually lunch w/my pops on a random Saturday, so I got the salad with walnuts and strawberries. It was huge and really good. My dad was happy with everything(I had to force feed him the coffee cake but he was very pleased with it), except the home-style iced tea. It was very strong on the orange and cinnamon. The interior of all the locations I’ve been to has the same feeling of intimate diner meets cabin in the woods.

I recently moved to the area from North Carolina so Unilocal has been my guide and this place has been a jewel… the Eggs Benedict were AMAZING and they even made a complimentary smiley face with fruit for my 2 toddlers. I only live a mile away so this is my new spot for Sunday brunch and more… Awesome place!!!

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast! The staff is warm and friendly and treat you like family from the moment you come in. The food is delicious. My favorite is the eye opener with yummy blueberry coffee cake. They also have a gluten free menu and do well with substitutions when asked. You can find me here on a regular weekend morning!

Our regular weekend brunch place. After trying everything vegetarian on the menu, South of the border Omelette with their Cinnamon Orange tea is my usual. Though it’s not fancy, the place serves it’s purpose of a diner experience with great food and good service.

Their hash brown dishes are so good! Served piping hot, cheesy, and it’s perfect with a runny egg. Coffee cake is pretty good, it’s nice and fluffy, but I’ve had better.

I love, love, love hobee’s. The food is always high quality and the coffee cake is to die for. I normally get the bdbit(best darn breakfast in town), which is a simple two egg + hash browns + coffee cake meal.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. My boyfriend said that typically, south of the border omelettes are just eggs with hot sauce, but he was happy to discover that this was very well-flavored and fresh. I ordered an Eye Opener plate. The eggs themselves were very average, but the turkey bacon was unique and fried to perfection! Usually when I get home-style potatoes, I have to smother them in ketchup because they are dry and bland. Here, I couldn’t get enough of them! And I only put ketchup on the last few of them… Lastly, the blueberry coffee cake was heavenly. My boyfriend and I had to split it because it is seriously HUGE. Overall, very good diner food and I was very pleasantly full. We plan to come back in a few months when I can get a grapefruit mimosa!

I came here around 10 am Sunday and got a table without waiting. The waiter was nice but the food was not great. I ordered egg Benedict but the egg was like a boiled egg not a poached egg at all. My mom ordered pancake and she said pancake was good. So if you wanna come here, don’t pick Benedict!

This is my second time coming to this place. The first time I came with my sister and I enjoyed it very much. This time around I brought my fiancé. The reason why I’m giving this place a 2 star is only because of the food. Our waiter took forever to even recognize that we were there. He didn’t state his name nor was he friendly. We ordered the Shaka tacos and I noticed we were not given an option for the side. Our waiter just decided and assumed we wanted chips. My fiancé asked for salsa… it was not offered. Our water cups were not refilled which was very annoying because as a waiter or waitress you should already know what to do. Period. I also heard our waiter asking his other guests«is everything alright here?» with lots of enthusiasm but never once did he check up on us if everything was okay. I had to ask the manager for our check and for a refill of water. Very bad service. Either the staff needs more proper training or the waiter just simply don’t give a damn! Not sure if I’ll be back to this place.

If I could, I would absolutely give 0 stars. I am not taking into the consideration the bad ambience. We went for brunch and the service was a little slow in the start. I don’t even mind that, but I hated the food. It was God awful, the tofu scramble just some firm tofu, under-sauted onions that looks like last’s night food. Most of all the cumin in the TOFU made me nauseous ! The Pancakes were very dry and the Maple syrup was some store bought nightmare ! The coffee was the one thing I liked in this place. We asked for an Omlet without cheese and yet it was filled with Jack and cheddar! :(Such a sad Sunday brunch. I don’t think I will ever return to this place. Thanks for the heartburn !

Great food, great service. I had the veggie scramble with onions and jalapeños added and I loved it. The country style hash browns are the best. At a breakfast place the potatoes are usually a hit or a miss and this was definitely a hit. Our waiter was friendly and awesome!

Their blueberry coffee cake was what the heck?! Loved it! But beyond that their sausages rock. Everything tastes fresh and not overdone. Hearty breakfast! I will, without a doubt, order for delivery through door dash again, here. I’ve done it twice now. I felt like I really got my money’s worth. Sometimes restaurants will skimp for the delivery. Not this place!

First time here! Definitely a cool place that offers a solid variety from sandwiches/burgers/wraps to breakfast scrambles/pancakes! I’d call it a Dennys but 100 times better in quality and still relatively cheap. I got a stack of two blueberry buttermilk pancakes and fresh blueberries added in. They nailed it! Pancakes were soft and moist, and blueberries were fresh n sweet! The staff was also extremely nice! Service was fast so extra brownie points in my food diary.

Nice breakfast joint in a nice area. Food is great. I like the bennies. Coffee cakes are good too but maybe a touch overrated. Or maybe I’m bored. They’re very busy on weekends and service quality takes a hit when that happens. My bennie came out cold. It’s 11am on Sunday and the waiting time is 15 mins. 4 stars because the food is good.

Came in with a couple girlfriends on a Sunday after a hike at Mission Peak; we were famished! It was a few minutes before we were seated as it was lunchtime. I ordered the Cupertino sandwich, essentially a club sandwich. The sandwich itself was tasty, but I would have liked more than one tomato cut into four small pieces(for the four slices of sandwich). That’s ok though, not a huge deal. Instead of chili or chips on the side I opted for a salad, which you create yourself at the salad bar. I liked this aspect because you control how much of whatever produce goes on your plate. There’s fruit as well as boiled eggs and bacon bits. I also ordered the blueberry coffee cake to take home(I admit I nibbled on it on the way home), and it was quite yummy, not overly sweet and very fluffy. I would definitely come back just for the coffee cake but want to try the pineapple upside down pancakes!

Nice little place. Food was good and quick. The décor could use updating but not bad for a little breakfast place. Staff was polite. Salmon scramble was delicious. Also the Strawberry lemonade seed to be made with fresh strawberries. Will be back!

Came for early Mother’s Day breakfast. It was solid and hit the spot since I was hungry, but quite pricey for the portions. I wish they just added toast like more spots do with the $ 11 omelette I ordered. The turkey bacon in the omelette was tasty and of course their coffee cake. If I go back, I may try lunch for breakfast next time :)

I love it here, good vibes from every employee and great service skills from the top down. I come here at least twice a week between work or school, food is always fast and, I’m not exactly looking for 5 star gourmet eggs with chorizo at 9am but, it’s good. Reminds me of home. Good wifi connection, good temperature, weekends are busy but never a wait for seating outside of that. Good food, amazing service, great vibes. P. S. the coffee cake is worth the trip on its own. Enjoy!

The customer service here is excellent. This is a good spot if you want to grab a bite to eat and if you’re looking for a good spot to get wifi and work. I’ve come here now thrice but my fiancé swears by this spot. I like their breakfast a lot — egg whites, home style potatoes, and orange juice — delish and reasonably priced, though I think the fresh squeezed OJ is about $ 4 which is a little expensive in my opinion. He got the tex-mex Bennie which was delicious, and I got the huevos rancheros. My meal was plentiful, I couldn’t even unfortunately finish it. The waitstaff and owner/manager are probably the best in terms of service that I’ve seen!

I have absolutely no idea why this restaurant would have ANYTHING short of five stars. The food is delicious and consistent every single time I have been. No matter at 7am right when they open or before closing. My favorite is the breakfast quesadilla. The flavors are to die for and they have lots of flexibility of ingredients as per your preference. I get it with egg whites just to cut the cholesterol from the egg yokes— you don’t taste any difference! The service is phenomenal. The managers Leticia and Melissa are so kind and personable. They are the backbone of that restaurant and have extremely high standards of cleanliness. All of the waiters and waitress and busboys are super sweet. It’s definitely a friendly, family vibe here. After a couple visits everyone will remember you and they will always take great care of you. Also– don’t be intimated by the crowded parking lot! There are quite a few garages behind the restaurant and if you cut through the walkway between the shops it’s very fast and convenient. Overall, this Hobees is the bomb and I hope so badly it stays around forever!

This is a great breakfast place. Everything tasted great. I would say what you need to know is that nomenclature for things is a bit different here. The«omelettes» were actually what I would call a scramble. And the«hash browns» are what I would call home fries. I happened to order the hash browns instead of the coffee cake, and I thought my «omelette» portion seemed a little small. I wondered if I had ordered the coffee cake if I’d have gotten more of the main dish. I’m not much for sweets, but the coffee cake others at my table had ordered was delicious and not two sweet for me. It seems that’s their specialty. I saw a lot of delicious options on their menu so I’d love to go back and try something else. The service was very good even though the place was very packed. There are not a lot of good breakfast place like this one. ;)

Great, friendly, and fast service! This place is incredibly spacious despite the small size of the store front. Don’t let the appearance deceive you: this place is actually quite roomy further in. I ended up coming here for breakfast today with my sister and dad right after I had gotten off work. My sister and dad have been going here for awhile now, but this was my first time at this location. I’ve only ever been to the one in Sunnyvale, which I wasn’t too amazed with. This place is an entirely different story. This is the type of restaurant you don’t mind becoming a regular at because it’s just that good. I ended up ordering the eggs benedict with a side of the banana coffee cake. Both were really tasty and filling. The staff was very attentive in regards to addressing our needs. Refills were constant, and the staff checked in with us frequently to see if there was anything they could get us. The only down side is that the food is a bit pricey for breakfast in comparison to other breakfast joints — especially when considering the portion sizes(which are average). While not a total deal-breaker, I know this can be a turn off for some who want to get the best deal for their money.

For a very affordable neighborhood brunch place, Hobee’s delivers an adequate experience. We dropped by for brunch on Mother’s Day at 10:30am. So, it’s no surprise that their indicated wait of 30 minutes dragged to an hour. Good thing there’s a large shady area outside. Their food is ok. The combinations are rather odd. I got a Mendocino chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was fine, but I had no idea what’s up with the side of corn chips. No dip or salsa came with the chips. So, it was either crunch through the salty chips or leave them be, which is what I did. The eggs Benedict my wife ordered had some misfire on the Hollandaise sauce. Something was just off. Plus, when she ordered tea, she was automatically brought the house special of cinnamon and orange, which was a rude surprise. She sent it back and got plain black tea instead. In the end, the ever dependable coffee cake saved the day and made the overall experience passable. Service was brisk. On the way out, I made a mental note to come pick up the coffee cake to go next time. We tabbed out at $ 36 with tip, which was reasonable with the large slice of cake.

Believe this or NOT — this is my very FIRST Hobee’s ever! I know right!!! I come here to see my BFFs since they live at the Velagio so we just walk here with our dogs and enjoy their weekend brunch. We have always eaten outside since we always have our dogs with us. The service here is just fantastic. Everyone is very nice and they always know what to recommend on the menu. They’re famous for their COFFEECAKE and you really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors but I highly recommend their classic or blueberry. They are scrumptiously delicious. PS — they are super dog friendly and make sure to RSVP to let them know you are dining out with them and they will«spiff up» their outdoor seating just for YOU!
