Oh man, maybe this is one of those spots that’s only good when you’re drunk, late at night. Went here because I was craving runny egg and beef over rice, and this was the closest spot we could found. We went in the daytime and the place was super dirty, which to me, is a sign of great chinese food. Unfortunately, not here. Ordered the runny eggs and beef over rice and the rice was SUPER hard and tasted like it was around for 2 days or more. There was so much corn starch in my runny eggs, with barely any egg in it. It was like they dumped chicken broth/corn starch on my plate and called it a day. NEVER again.

I always get the baked dishes. It’s so creamy! They give you complimentary soup, which tastes kind of tomato-y but it’s good! I also love the fried tofu. One of my old friends loved coming to this place and he always got the baked pork chop with rice dish. It doesn’t look that nice inside and it’s never that crowded but the food is great.

Pan fried noodles with seafood, deep fried flounder– whole fish, walnut prawns, salted fish/chicken fried rice, and egg plant in hot pot! Just simply good food and great prices.

I come here when I want some quick and cheap food! Baked seafood is a rather large portion. The dish is full of seafood fried rice with cheese and heavy cream covering the topped then it’s baked to melt all the cheese and cream into the rice. It’s a very filling and heavy dish but it’s decent. I’m not sure what it’s technically called but I get the egg sauce beef chow fun which is good. It’s flavorful and provides plenty of beef with the egg sauce all over chow fun noodles. Calamari rings are decent. Nothing super special or fantastic about them. Beef and vegetables were flavorful and a good choice to pair with fried rice. Sizzling shrimp and tofu was okay. Less flavorful but still really good for those who love tofu. Fried chicken wings are decent. Crispy and lightly seasoned.

I came here not too long ago and my bf ordered the baked pork chop which was not good, it was kinda weird. It had a lot of sauce all over it, and the sauce is kind of weird. I tried to a seafood thing and it was not good the sauce is weird also. I don’t think I would come back to here. Even if I was hungry I’ll just go to somewhere else instead of weird tasting stuff there. Even though the hours are very convenient being open so late.

Im not a fan of this place. They run out of ho fun noodles at night. Place seem like cheap thrown together old food. I’m a huge fan of sauce stuff. I dunk most everything in like a gazillion sauce when I eat. However bake pork chop etc seem too me like tomato sauce mix with starch, rice, n pork. Also I’m still mind boggle why ppl order that macroni with few slice of Ham n water down chicken broth??? Why I can make that for you with way more flavor and meat and you pay me! Hmmm just some random thoughts eek.

Some people are disgusted when they see food smothered in sauce… NOTME! Maybe I watched too much Nickelodeon as a child but I love to eat rice or spaghetti drenched with sauce! Top Café is the main HK café chain around San Jose. I already wrote a review so no need to get into too much detail. Quick Review(again): — Large portions for good prices — Opens until 3 am as it SHOULD This is my HK café fix in Nor Cal. It’s better than TAM and Venus IMHO. Bigger portions and better prepared… not to say I won’t eat at the latter occasionally.

Baked Spaghetti = 5 stars. If you like a sweet spaghetti sauce then this is the dish for you. I would come back just for this. Baked Seafood = Meh. Creamy white sauce on top, didn’t taste good to me. Potstickers = Meh. Nothing special.

I challenge anyone to name a better restaurant option in the Tri-City area after 11pm! I was expecting a limited after-hours menu, but was surprised that the whole menu was available. I was even more surprised that the portion size was decent and the prices were low.

Very typical Hong Kong café that serves fusion food. We ordered the black pepper beef with spaghetti and the baked seafood rice. Both were just okay. A bit oily, but that’s to be expected. Nice that they are open late(til 3am!) when all the other places in the South Bay closes their kitchen at 11pm!

Came here at 2 a.m. on a Friday night. The waiter was super nice and patient. We ordered chow mein and one of the baked dishes under the chef’s specialty part of the menu. The chow mein wasn’t anything special. The baked dish was very good, and came super hot! We were also serve this yummy vegetable soup as an appetizer. They never rushed us, the atmosphere was very laid back. Would definitely go back for more late night goodies!

I’ve been going here for years. Whether I’m sober or drunk, I love this place. The waitress here always remembers what I want to order and she’s so sweet. I always order just plain chow mein with beef and she always puts chili sauce and jalapenos on the side for me. I’m always a happy customer. I’ve come here with a wide range of people over the years and everyone that I know is always generally satisfied. They have the typical Chinese greasy food we all know and love. They also have more unique dishes like Two Kinds of Fried Rice(2 different sauces over a plate of fried rice). Although the place is small and plain, the food is delicious and it’s really affordable. The fact that they’re open until 3AM every day is even better.

So I went here for a late night dinner after coming back from Lake Tahoe. I went here during Christmas so we were REALLY lucky that this place was open since all the other fast food stores we went to were packed. It was probably 12am when I got back from Tahoe and so it was just a lifesaver this place was open especially since I didn’t eat dinner so I starving on the road. Anyways, so we walked in and there was nobody there but it was nice because that means we get our food fast. They served us some soup in the beginning which is what most asian restaurants do unless it’s a buffet. I ordered the won-ton noodle soup, I thought maybe you could choose which noodles you wanted but they give you egg noodles. The food was pretty good and still made me full which was a plus. There’s an ATM inside which is good because the owner told us a story about how someone took the ATM from one of their partner stores and literally just lugged it away… I don’t even know… but overall this was a great late night restaurant and it has pretty good food. I would definitely come again but I usually go to Village House next door instead of this place. This place is more quiet and smaller than Village House for the people that don’t like loud restaurants.

Open late, cheap and lots of variety. What more can you ask for? Theres a bunch of restaurants open late in this plaza, decided on top café last week. The place is tiny so definitely not good for big groups. Not the cleanest place either, but it does the job if you’re hungry and tired. I order the fishball soup with chow fun noodles. Noodles were good, fish balls were good, soup was a little bland, but nothing a little white pepper and siracha can’t fix. They put a lot of lettuce in the soup which i normally like, but in this case the lettuce looked kind of old and wilted. Shared the crispy fried tofu plate with some friends. That was good and recommended if you come here.

Can’t go wrong with their baked spaghetti… trust me. I only come here late nights after a night of partying. It’s never crowded and the parking lots are near empty which means I get prime front parking, woot! I’ve been coming here for years and years and I rarely ever order anything besides the baked spaghetti. The other location on Barber Ln is far worse and dirty. Service: I’m always greeted by smiling, friendly, older people(possibly the owners). Whenever I tumble in during the middle of the night they let me choose which table and brings me water right away knowing I’m going to need it! They’re always patient with us drunkies and is nice to take custom requests for my to-go items. Food: Like I said before, I’ve always ordered the same item. However, on a couple of occasions, I have ordered other plates: the baked spaghetti with mushrooms in white sauce(for my vegan friend), it was a bit bland, and the garlic eggplant spicy as hell and flavorful. Décor/ambiance: Well, come on… this is not a fancy place. It’s your typical chinese restaurant in Milpitas. The furniture and décor is definitely tacky and outdated, but it’s always clean and neat. The restrooms are clean as well. They only accept cash. But they have an ATM machine inside for those who forget.

I’ve been coming to Top Café regularly for quite some time, but after my last experience I feel inclined to leave a review. During my most recent trip there, I ordered the beef stew and vegetable pan fried noodle. When it came I immediately gave the beef tendon and fat to the boyfriend since I dislike that part of the beef. The owner noticed what I had done, and promptly walked over to see what was wrong. I explained that I just don’t eat those parts of the meat, but it’s ok since the boy does, but the owner insisted on giving me some more meat, and took my plate to go add some. I’ve never had an experience quite like that at any restaurant before, where the manager would notice my selective eating and then put it upon himself to make sure I enjoyed my food to the fullest. Aside from this one experience, their service is consistently excellent. I’ve heard plenty of people talk down about the food here, but honestly, I love coming here to satisfy my cravings. You really cannot go wrong with the hot and sour soup; on a cold day or a day where you might be getting sick, this soup truly hits the spot. The salty fried squid is also a must every time I come. I tend to switch up my main entrée, but I love the baked spaghetti and baked pork chop the most. Another plus? They are open late!

PROS: — variety of dishes available — cheap — large portions — open late for after-midnight snacks/meals — service a LOT better than China Palace; nice server! — food is good CONS: — small, cramped seating — asked for hot tea & didn’t receive it — bill isn’t itemized, you just see the overall total — cash only

A buddy of mine and I were cruising along and looking for a late night snack and we decided to check this place out in lieu of Dennys. Truthfully this place is the Asian version of Dennys. And just like Dennys you get big inexpensive portions, shitty quality, and diarahea. However and I never thought I would say this but the quality of food at Dennys is better. I’ve noticed a lot of these late night cash only Asian eateries have sprung up all over Milpitas and they’re all degrees of bad in my opinion. I ordered the Hong Kong Milk Tea, egg rolls, and shrimp fried rice. The Milk Tea was the only decent thing I had there but truthfully it was a little strong for my tastes. The egg rolls were nice and crispy on the outside but left a strange aftertaste in my mouth. I ordered shrimp fried rice but what I got instead was what looked like an egg dump on top of plain white rice with some shitty ramen shrimp in the mix. Deceptive advertising aside the dish was a catastrophe. It was flavorless and I had to drown it in soy sauce just so I could swallow it. Heres the bottom line: NEVERGOHERE. Starvation is a more preferable option.

Under any influence late at night and got the munchies? OHYEAHHHH Service: come here with a chinese person and have them order. Everytime I go here and order in english I get smaller portions for some reason(both locations.) They’re usually nice at this location, though the language barrier might cause some issues. Food: No homo, but it’s like an orgasm in my mouth :3 The baked spaghetti, two kinds of fried rice(two kinds of fried rice with two different sauces on it.) chicken wings, clam chowder(the size of the bowl fooled me alot -.-), and house fried rice is pretty good! The place: typical hole in the wall chinese fast food. not sparkling, but not THAT dirty.

We walked by and tried this place. Friendly staff. Simple layout. The TV was playing old Cantonese soap opera. Chicken fried rice was good and the hot almond milk was a novel experience. The vegetable pork ribs had a lot of fat on it which wasn’t so hot but the sauce flavor was good. They have cheap clay pot dishes which I will definitely try next time.
