Not sure of the great reviews… I’ve eaten here 2X in the last month, and can’t say it was great. First, I had the Gyro Platter, which was Gyro meat over rice(surprise), a pita, A LOT of hummus, and a salad, along with tzatziki sauce. The amount of Gyro meat was dismal. It was just a few slices. I thought it was more, until I found a huge pile of rice underneath it… Tzatziki sauce was good, gyro meat was just OK, it was dry, not terribly flavorful. The hummus was good, but the quantity was wacked. It was a lot. The second time I just got a gyro, thinking the meat was off that day and the quantity was because it was in a platter. Wrong, meat was even drier this time, and the quantity was at least half of what you would get at any respectable Gyro place in Milwaukee. I may make one more attempt, because I want to try the Falafel. I like Tahini and Falafel, let’s see if they can get that one nailed down, I’ll post an update when I try it.

The best hummus in Milwaukee. In fact, the best I’ve ever had. Same with the baba ganoush. Some tasty meals as well, especially the chicken with Egyptian rice. Some other dishes and deli offerings I can’t recommend as highly. The falafel is merely OK. Same with the tabouli. But the selection is great, the staff friendly, the location convenient. And did I mention the hummus? BTW, the location listed here is wrong. Aladdin is now at the Milwaukee Public Market.

My Fiancé and I love Gyros, but this is not the place to go if you want a Gyro. The meat, onions and tomatos come over rice, with a side salad, humus and a pita. The hummus had ZERO flavor, the Gyro meat was so bland it made me lose my appetite. The rice was so dry that it was hard. The salad was decent, thats all I will give them. Definitely will NOT go back to eat here. What a waste of $ 16.

Although Aladdin’s is at the Milwaukee Public Market, my first experience with them was at their food stall at Bastille Days over the summer. I ordered the Egyptian Rice with roast chicken and I really enjoyed it. The chicken was moist and tender, and the rice flavorful. It was a great festival and great food, thanks to Aladdin. Hubby stops at the Market for Aladdin, as it is close to his job, and he enjoys the lamb curry from them. I look forward to trying that next!

I thought this place was supposed to be good for falafel. but I had it, and was really unimpressed. I had hummus on it. I thought is was kind of flavorless… I don’t know I guess I expect more. I think I’ll track down another place.

I used to go to this place at the Public Market due to the proximity of it to home. I love ethnic foods and I am always looking for a good place to eat at. Food wise its decent, nothing spectacular. I like Aladdin, the owner but the lady that is at the counter these days, she has to be the worst at customer service I have ever come across. I am a regular customer and she can be so rude to even me. An episode that recently happened has made me decide to boycott the place. They have definitely lost my family’s business till they have made serious improvements on being friendly with their customers. I asked for a substitution once and they wouldn’t make it. I would be fine if they charged more but no. they won’t make any exceptions. It is ridiculous!!! I’ll just go to Magarita paradise right next to them who are much nicer to their customers.

I don’t know if Aladdins is still open at the Plankinton location but I have been many times to their location in the Milwaukee Public Market. I love getting the vegetable curry with a samosa and rosewater lemonade. If you have never tried rosewater lemonade you have to! It is sooooo good.
