Pretty irritating to sell them 30+ great condition books for $ 10. Especially after I agreed, I went browsing and see one of the books I gave them was selling in their store for $ 9 and another one for $ 13(in not nice condition). I understand it’s a business, but next time I’ll just donate them. I’d rather donate them to libraries or schools than be screwed. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I don’t think an estimate of $ 1 per book would have been out of line…

I never heard of Half Priced Books prior to moving from NYC. I love books, so when I first visited this location, it was like a Wonderland! To me, the store is pretty big. There is so much to look at and many genres of books, it’s impossible to come out with nothing. Prices are cheap and the books are in good condition. Staff is always willing to help and very friendly. Just recently I also sold about 50 books at this location and recieved a decent amount of money back. But keep in mind when selling, the money you recieved depends on how much that book/dvd/game is in demand. Sometimes you will get a lot, sometimes not so much. so keep that in mind. Overall I really do enjoy coming here and will continue to come to this location due to great staff and wide varieties :)

Very poor compensation for top notch clean books… so disappointing… I was told business was not good… will donate from now on. not worth my time. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Who doesn’t like cheap books. They have an excellent selection of books. They also carry records, dvd’s, stationary and probably more, but I usually go for books. They might not have the book you want on the store, but usually they can order it for you. The staff has always been friendly also.

Half Price Books is great. Love their selection of deeply discounted DVD’s particularly. Is it weird that I don’t go in there looking for books? Sure I may buy one occasionally, but I usually look for DVD’s, video games, and magazines. If I’m buying a book there, its usually sports related. I’ve been to a handful of HPB and the setups are always good. It’s always easy to find what you’re looking for and the stuff is spread out nicely. They also do buy books, but just know that you won’t get much for them. More than likely, it’ll probably cost you more in gas to get to and from the store than they money they give you for books. So, if you have books you don’t want at all and don’t care about not getting much for them, take em to HPB. Other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever.

Somehow, despite being a book lover, I’ve never been to a Half Price Books… This is dangerous… I went in originally with my foster sister, just taking her around on some errands and ended up leaving with 14 books. Ironically, she left with 2. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, and most of the books are in very good shape! Although I didn’t get to explore everywhere(I had to cut myself off and leave when I started dropping all the books I was holding), I can’t wait to go back and check out the rest of the offerings!

They’ve got nearly everything you want and for literally half the price you can get it anywhere else. Great place for finding older movies you want to.

While not as good as the Brookfield location, it’s still decent. High points are video games, cook books, children’s books, and paperback fiction. Low points are clearance(small inventory), comics(very small inventory). If selling at this location they pay well for out of print hardcover cook books and sealed video games /software. They usually have lots of Nintendo DS systems in stock.

After eating a nice big meal, one thing I like to do is take a nice big… Walk. Shopping makes it easier to keep active increase metabolism and aide digestion. So I’m here to browse around for books it’s considered old school. Since most things can be found on line. But you don’t realize how paralyzing it can be to have no power for a week or two or have no Cellphone service after a Hurricane. But its relaxing to pick up a tech manual to look at blow up diagrams for rebuilding engines or bikes. They also have a good selection of music, video games, albums cd and movies.

I have been there over the years for gifts, most recently a couple of months ago. I was looking for jazz and I found a lot of 10 cd collections from people like Mile, Coltrane, and some other well known guys. What was most surprising was the collection of new albums from jazz greats. If your family has a turntable, you could give half price a spin.

Books, DVDs, Records, CDs, Children’s games, greeting cards, journals, video game systems and games. The price is right and they typically have coupons and sales. There’s also a teacher discount! I’ve spent many an hour in this place, because it is just plain fun! Don’t expect much compensation for selling your books.

Man, I love books. So naturally I love Half Price books and that this location is so nearby. It’s great for just browsing if there’s not something you’re particularly looking for, and we’ve also gotten better than expected prices on DVDs we sold here.

Whenever I venture out and come anywhere near a Half Price Books, I have to stop. Also, I have to visit every Half Price Books in the area. Can’t say anything bad about any of these stores. I can always find nice note cards and a bargain in the clearance area. At this location, the clearance books are $ 1!

In short: The store’s not bad. It’s just not great, and it is a chain. Over the years I’ve found some great deals on music and books, but I feel like this store’s gone downhill lately. Lately the prices seem to been on the rise, and I’m leaving empty handed more and more. The best deals are the $ 1 clearance paperback racks. They’ve saved me from many a boring plane flight. Amazon and abebooks both usually have lower prices including the shipping than taking ½ off the cover price of a book. For the higher prices, they have still have no way to tell what’s in the store or order online for pickup. I’ll keep checking back here. It’s in the same strip mall as other stores and restaurants we go to. I just can’t bring myself to pay ½ cover price for things that I can order new for near the same price or used for a lot less online.

For HPB, this one is slightly below average. The area doesn’t seem nearly as affluent as the typical HPB location(there was a rent-a-cop!) and the book selection reflected that, to some extent. Music and media selection were fine.

Great prices, fantastic selection of new and used books. if you need a book, buy it half-price. Don’t throw your books away, sell em back to the store so someone else can enjoy them.

This location I think is pretty well-organized and usually busy but not TOO busy. One thing I love about Half Price Books is that each store has different items in stock, and they change on a daily basis. This location has some of the most amusing titles, as well as a particularly great selection of clearance books. It also seems a bit larger than the other locations, but I can’t be positive.

Not much that can be said about this location that hasn’t already been said about other Half-Price locations. Good selection, good pricing, and this one is well-organized and quiet. I don’t know that it’s a head-and-shoulders above the rest caliber of organized and quiet, it’s just a good location. I’ve been to a few others, where i’ve been happy, this is just closest by when i’m visiting the Milwaukee area. Good selection of videos, PC/console games, and stationery as well. You will likely find good used copies of something you’re interested in, but my personal preference is to spend some time wandering, and hunt down a book i’ll be interested in. Not always my first choice if i’m on a mission for a specific title, but a nice way to spend an hour or so if you’re just not sure what you’re after.
