A small dumpy non-memorable bar I. Milwaukee that had good beer prices and this is only thing I have positive to say about this place. A typical Milwaukee bar

So this place is totally great. I wandered in here last night, meandering around my old stomping grounds. Typical South Side bar, clean, friendly, TONSOFBOOZE. Cheap beer. I want to say it’s a dive bar, but it’s really not, because it’s not skeevy or creepy at all. And very clean. And I learned an important sociological difference. At one point, I repaired to the ladies room. I put a napkin over my beer bottle, to indicate«I’ll be right back.» and left my jacket. That always works in Chicago. I come back. There’s a Bears game on the TV where the Brewers were before. Huh? The bartender asks me «Are you from Illinois?» MONDIEU, MYCOVERISBLOWN! Down go my fantasies of being a secret spy! It seems, round these parts — the deep south side of Milwaukee, my napkin gesture means«done w. this». However, the cute and friendly bartender is a smart woman, and thought«no, her jacket is still here, she’s just in the bathroom, she’s coming back.». So funny! About 3 other people at the bar had a giggle over this with me, I know I was amused. So, then I felt welcome, rather than just a quiet weirdo girl drinking beer and fiddling with her phone, glancing occasionally at a sports thing on TV. Great little neighborhood joint. Clean and friendly. Have I mentioned clean? Clean bathrooms too. Darts and pool! I’d wander in here any time, and you should too — I had a pleasant evening, even hanging out by myself. The beers are very cold and tasty. Oh, and thanks to the guy who sent over another Schlitz for me — Cheers!

Stopped in on a Monday night. Typical south side neighborhood bar, but liquor selection is definitely a step above the norm. Alas, only Black Bear soda on the gun — and definitely lacking fizz. Bad for those of us who like mixed drinks. Josie the bartender was friendly. Brewers on multiple TV’s, all men cheering and shouting. This was the notorious bar featured on Channel 12’s smoking expose — no ashtrays in view when we were there. Bars close early in this neighborhood — JJ’s stays open until closing time.
