This little hidden jem is a favorite spot of our family. The park has plenty of trees, walking trails, and picnic areas set back away from the roadway. The playground is our most frequent stop. It’s got plenty of shade for the parents and the swings and equipment are all above the new foam mats instead of wood chips or sand. In the summer months the wading pool is open from 1 – 5. It’s perfect for the little ones to cool off in, and the pool area has plenty of shade along the edges. Bring plenty of sunscreen, the kids will not want to come out of the pool.

I LOVE Jacobus Park! From the playground to the hiking trails to the splash pad! There is everything a Nanny needs to tire out some littles!

Never had to review a park before but man do I love Jacobus Park! I used to run here back in my high-school days for cross-country and it was always sooooo fun! The park is beautiful and makes you forget you’re even running! There is a basketball court and a golf course(im sure we upset a few golfers as we ran through). The park is always well maintained and does not look cruddy like other parks do. Pretty big too! It starts on Wells St but expands much further than that and is in a very nice area of Wauwatosa! Im sure its a pretty fun place to visit in the winter as well for some large scale snowball fights!

Jacobus Park is a neighborhood gem. Beautiful hiking trails that were originally created by the CCC, kiddie pool for the little ones in summer, playgrounds, picnic areas, a tadpole-filled pond and even a lodge that can be rented for special events, Jacobus is an oasis of nature tucked in along the Menomonee River. Bring your binoculars for bird watching and your budding scientists to spot the many different species that live in the shallow, murky pond. It’s only drawbacks? No dogs allowed and the pond REALLY needs dredging and some circulation. It is stagnant and rather«ripe» on hot summer days.

Best known as THE place for wading with the infant and toddler sect, Jacobus Park is a great little green space with hidden picnic areas, short hiking trails, and a old ice skating building that can be reserved by the hour for parties. Located along an isolated portion of the Oak Leaf Trail, this urban park enjoys shelter from traffic and the sounds of the Menomonee river.

Best park that we’ve been to for kids aged 6mo — 8 years, hands down. I’m almost hesitant to add this park on Unilocal because its such an amazing secret, but I know if I was a parent looking for the best places to go, I would want to know all about this place. It has: swings(for toddlers and older kids), one playground for older kids, one playground for toddlers, a nice big built-in sandbox, a splash pad(open in the summer from 1−4pm), small hiking trails, full picnic areas that you can reserve, several picnic tables by the playground, and big, old, beautiful trees that provide shade for most of the playground and sandbox area. It is beautiful! If anyone knows of a park that can even compete with this in terms of awesomeness, let me know! ;-)
