I live across the street from Wick Field, which has its ups and downs. It is obnoxiously loud during the baseball season. From about 6am until 11pm you will hear constant cheers and hollers. The good parts are that it has a playground and SOMANYFIELDS. The fields have those awesome MPS(you know) bleachers, which I adore. I saw my first shooting star here… yes, in Milwaukee! The sky can get pretty dark here after they turn all the lights out.

Fellow Unilocaler Colin A. introduced my to Wick Field, and I am definitely impressed by the facilities! So many different fields and often busy with people just having fun playing baseball, softball, kickball, tennis, and so on. It always amazes me to find huge areas of recreation space in the middle of a busy city neighborhood. I’d definitely consider returning here for future sports leagues or recreational play.

One of my favorite places to spend a spring or summer evening in Milwaukee that is NOT: a solid restaurant, the lakefront, or one of the many summer festivals. Seven(or eight, I lost count) fields for softball, kickball, and baseball… and plenty of open spaces for a soccer game, too(though not regulation). Small parking lot directly off Vliet is OK if you arrive early in the evening, otherwise you can park in the massive lot by the MPS administration building. Nice playground area for the kids, too. I anticipate spending many more weeknight evenings here…
