Major’s is always a great quick stop before I go to Milwaukee Admirals games. I love the fries here so much — I’ll get a burger or sandwich as well, but mostly prefer the fries. Wait staff has always been really great as well. They know when the BC or UWM Arena have events and when to hurry things so you will get there in time.

We went to grab some food after the Admirals game last Saturday. I’d been here before for drinks but not food. Well, it seemed as though they had closed the kitchen, then hastily reopened it after we were ordering food. I could smell the wing sauce and it smelled good. So I ordered wings. My wife ordered the«Cajun chicken» sandwich. My buddy ordered a cheeseburger and his wife also ordered the wings. My wife’s Cajun burger was nothing but a breaded chicken sandwich. The waitress put down a cup of buffalo wing sauce because the kitchen«forgot» to add Cajun spices. Huh? My buddy’s burger was plain. My wings were ok, but my buddy’s wife’s wings were not cooked through. Once she bit through the breaded part, the meat inside was bloody and raw looking. Yikes! I give this 2 stars ONLY because of the sports bar atmosphere. The food tho was not good at all. Go for drinks and the game instead.

Excellent place to go before the Milwaukee Bucks games. Good for and Great drinks, a block away from the Bradley Center.

This place used to be my favorite sports bar, but things have changed. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced for what you get. Beer is$ 14 bucks for a pitcher and PLASTIC cups! At one point, I actually witnessed the owner reprimanding an employee! The only positive part of the experience was our waitress Angie. She was personable and efficient. Sure this place is convenient for games, but definitely not my first choice.

This restaurant does not even deserve one star. My boyfriend and I am from out of town to see a game at Bradley’s center. Dropped by around 4−5pm and was denied entry. The main reason we were given was«Customers has to be over 21 or with a parent or guardian.» I am 20 years old, 2 months shy of 21, I understand that I would not have made it past the door. My boyfriend, however, is 25, he showed his ID and the person at the door decided to change his mind and told us that he needed to be a parent. We did not want to argue over poor service, so we left. Applebee’s at this point has better service than major goolsby. PS. There were definitely a group of guys who went to the restaurant without a parent or was over 25 from earlier afternoon when we walked past the restaurant from our stay at Hyatt Regency. This was also why we wanted to eat here.

My girlfriend and I was in town for the lakers at bucks game, not being from around here. We were hoping for some good reviewed wings. Upon entering the restaurant, they asked for id. My girlfriend was only 20, and he said that she couldnt only enter with a guardian. I was 25, and asked isnt that old enough to be considered a guardian. The guy then tells us it has to be a parent, well im sorry she doesnt travel with her parents. Very upset, ended up going to applebees. Downloaded Unilocal just to make sure i leave a review for anyone under 21 with no parents. Dont go.

A great sports bar in heart of downtown and right near Bradly center. the place has way too many televisions and ample unique seating along with two great bars. it has a good old fashion kitchen that you can see into from the bar and just great decorations. The food was pretty swell as well and this is a great looking bar with plenty of space.

Ordered the mild«buffalo wings» and had to send them back because it was nothing more than fried breaded chicken with a hint of sauce. They returned from the kitchen slightly better than the original batch. They looked nothing like the picture on menu. Over priced sub-par bar food, killer location. When it’s busy they like to turn tables and food comes quickly, just wish someone in the kitchen took a little pride with what they churn out.

This bar is a staple bar for Milwaukee celebrating sports, the city and its people. There is tons of seating, lots of bar space and tables too. This is a great all american bar with good drinks, food and service!

Major Goolsby’s is so much bigger inside than it looks on the outside, with three large rooms all connected and walls lined with countless TVs for all the sports fans. Décor is pretty standard but drinks are well-priced. Came on a night when a game had just ended at the basketball arena next door so the place was packed. Service was slow as a result, but I think that was the exception to the rule. The crowd was fun and overall welcoming and fun to drink with. Heads up, though. Downtown Milwaukee is pretty dead these days. Not what it used to be.

Wow we got this recommendation from a cab driver when we asked for«good burgers» …it was a five minute drive from the lake but it was so worth it! The burger was so amazing — tasty! I loved it. The place is huge and the server was great. Bathrooms very clean. Then we noticed they have a booth at summerfest! Highly recommended burgers

First time at Major Goolsby’s last month. My hubby and I, and another couple, were in town for a concert at the UW-Milwaukee Arena. Major Goolsby’s was extremely convenient. You can park across the street, eat, then attend your event without ever having to move your car. The place is huge! I can’t imagine you would ever have to wait longer then 20 minutes for a table. The food was ok, and the service was ok. All in our party but one had a burger, no one was brave enough to try the Major cheeseburger. I tried the single version of it. As I stated before, it was ok. What was better then ok was the sweet potato tots. Those were amazing! Super fun atmosphere. Stop in for a drink… and tots!

All I can say is this place is as solid as their burgers. And their cheeseburger was quite solid(and much larger than I expected!). The bacon burger is loaded with bacon so much that you are going to need water. Or beer. This place is a great sports bar. Plenty of TVs, good atmosphere, and beer on tap. It has street parking and parking lots nearby. Excellent option for sports bars downtown.

If you’re going to BMO, this is a good bet. I was skeptical at first, but they have a fair amount of taps priced reasonably(one of its neighbors marks their beer up a ton). The food is a little pricey. I get it though. You are paying for convenience. How much would you pay inside the stadium? The sweet potato tots were good. The chicken tenders were average yet filling. I like that they change the TVs depending what is showing across the street. The last time I was there, they had on soccer before the Wave game.

I recently watched a haunting film called Vegucation about the meat processing industry in America and the harrowing conditions that animals, particularly chickens are kept in before being sent to a gruesome and painstaking slaughter. I was truly affected by this film, until I came to Major Goolsby’s. Their chicken wings are so damn good that any memory of what pain and suffering their surrogates went through quickly disappears as they pass my lips and embark on the short journey into my giant, grateful belly. I’m deathly serious about how good they are. Rivaled only by(perhaps) Points East for Milwaukee’s best wings, these bad boys are huge, juicy and smothered in an incredible buffalo sauce with a Cajun(?) style rub — hint: get at least medium, the mild comes without the rub and you will regret it. The sweet potato tots are the cherry on top, I can’t help but order them every time even if it does push the tab and waistline a little too far. My wife commonly gets the burger and swears by it but I’ll never know because there ain’t a chance in hell I’m not ordering wings every time I go here until I drown in a pool of Cajun-rubbed buffalo gluttony. Great place to go before Panther basketball home games and Brew City Bruisers bouts. It may look and sound like a gun store owned by a crazy guy from the outside, but there’s plenty of seating and TVs galore for fans of whatever team is rudely playing whatever game at the same time that you’re trying to enjoy your delicious wings. Sorry chickies, it was worth it.

Why is this place busy all the time? We went before a show around 5 pm. Hardly anyone was there and service couldn’t be slower. In the booth behind us the manager was talking to a cook who was complaining about being disrespected and his final words to her? «I wouldn’t eat the hamburgers tonight!» The manager says nothing and the guy goes back to work. WTF! Server says nothing, we ordered non hamburgers thank god. Ham and cheese was super greasy. Had to wait for about 20 minutes for the bill. I don’t think we will ever be back. Yuck… Oh and the bathrooms are like being in a horse stall, gross and smelly

Went here to enjoy wings and drink. The wings were okay but a lot of spice on the outside but not the actual wing. If you get past the sauce and spice that’s sprinkled on the fried wing it’s not that spicy. I also ordered the strawberry margarita and it was okay they may have used house liquor. We also got hamburger and that was delicious, this is more of a sports bar hang out and the crowd was loud meanwhile the Wisconsin game was going on. If your into sports this is the place to be because there’s lots of TV and different games on

A perfectly adequate sports bar with surprisingly good sweet potato tots! — (I think… I think that only facists, puppy-kickers, and evil clowns wouldn’t enjoy sweet potato-based fried starches, probably.) Sweet potato… fries, gimme ‘em. All your wedges, yes. And sweet potato tots… now you’ve gone and done it. You’ve combined two of my favorite things in this tangible, material world. Sold, Goolsby’s. You have sweet potato tots and I’m so down. Other notes of note? Huge space, convenient to downtown sportsball events, lots of TVs, food, beer, nice folks, with a down to earth, pseudo-divey flavor.

Don’t believe the hype, the burgers are frozen cooked on a machine. My burger was nearly raw. And had no flavor. Oh and the kitchen forgot my order so it took 40 mins for a my world famous major burger. I would not recommend this place unless you starving or you plan on getting drunk after leaving the Bradley Center. Also why why why ask me what I want on my burger if your going to put on the plate and not on the burger??? The bun was so oily I barley wanted to use my phone after. Best burgers in Milwaukee I truly hope not. The wings the guy next to me ordered look good, but I probably not be going back.

Are you ready for some football? Yep– I bet you are– this downtown gem is VERY diverse, if you are in town from anywhere and want a place where you can cheer on your team with no dirty looks this is the place. It’s an easy walk from all downtown hotels. Packers rule here, so expect shots when the Pack TD’s– also half quarter and half time giveaways might interfere with your game. The food’s great– wings are probably some of the best I’ve had. If you’re not feeling the wing thing, they have plenty of other food options as well.(Helloooo Tater tots!) They’re packed on Sunday, so you’ll probably find a friend among the rainbow of NFL Jerseys.
