Interesting change of pace for lunch. Think of Pita Pit like Subway, but with pitas. Choose your sandwich, bread, and toppings. But they have a wider offering of toppings and sauces. The sandwich menu is uninspired, so you won’t find anything unexpected or unique. But there is enough variety that you should be able to find something to keep everyone happy. The pitas were good, but a little overpriced at $ 6.75. When we went here on a Saturday afternoon, there was only one guy staffing the whole place. He would take a few orders, then grill up the meat, then assemble the pitas and toppings. Having a 2nd or 3rd person to make the pitas while the other takes orders would decrease the wait times a lot.

I noticed this place a couple times so I thought I would stop in. Just a note that if you can’t make quick decisions this in not your kind of place because it’s like subway and you build the whole pita. I was intrigued by this pita concept because I thought I would get a standard pita and now I had no idea of what I would end up with, I will post pictures of the menu. The menu has breakfast, veggie and meat options. My pita would be the Philly steak on white. Steak, onions, green pepper and mushrooms went on the grill in front of me to start my pita. They don’t cook the Philly long on the grill so the veggies have some crunch left in them. There is a full toppings station like subway so the outcome for pitas are endless. On the fly I opted for spinach, red onion, mushrooms, black olives, jalapeños and feta cheese along with the grilled veggies that already came with it. The pita is masterfully rolled like a burrito so all the goodness stays in it and doesn’t fall out, see my pictures. The pita was soft and fresh with the grilled meat/veggies. The toppings were fresh and crisp which made for a nice change because I don’t do a lot of pita creations. There is about 15 different sauces to finish off the pita but I opted for none because my build would have plenty of flavor and heat. The whole pita had enough steak and toppings to satisfy, not huge but not skimpy at all and just right. Overall my pita was pretty good and I just love the idea that I have total control of building it and I probably could have put everything from the toppings table on it because I could pick anything I wanted in it. I would go back and get another one even though they gave me a free double meat coupon for my next visit. I have noticed this subway concept spreading into other restaurant models and I’m liking it. I totally like that the consumer has total control of the outcome of the pita and customizable to each palate with no hassles of change orders from the staff.

Trying the new place in town. I like pitas and was open to the idea. I ordered to go and went and sat to wait. Turns out its like subway where they take you through a line of options to put in your Pita. I am very indecisive so slight panic set in. In the end the choices worked well for me. Now i know what to expect next time I stop in.

We’re just finishing our first meal here right now. Not at all impressed. The food is delicious! Buuuut… 1. Service here is PAINFULLY slow. The employees have zero sense of urgency. We waited for 15 minutes before they BEGAN making our order. The sandwich maker guy was too busy flirting with the two teenage girls ahead of us to move quicker than he was. 2. The drink machine was out of all 200-whatever drink flavors except for Sprite and ginger ale… And you could only get those flavored with vanilla. We brought this to the cashier’s attention. She rolled her eyes and said«I know.» She provided us with bottled drinks after we asked, since we had paid previous to this discovery. 3. Holy crap. They are playing the most ratchet music here. What I listen to in my car is one thing. When I’m eating at a place where people are bringing young kids, the lyrics should NOT include the words n*****, t***ies, m*****f***er, sh**, you get the idea. And it’s LOUD. I feel like I’m at the club… On Fond du Lac and Villard. It’s too bad because we really enjoyed our food, but we won’t be coming back, at least not to this location.

This is the first time we’ve tried the Pita Pit, and it was outstanding! It was healthy food, and I love the choice of grilled meats and fresh vegetables you can put on your sandwich; they were amazing! I don’t know if this was the owner manager or just an employee, but the service was absolutely fantastic. This place is well run and has great food. It’s a must stop if you’re in the area!

This location is very new and still working things out. Great healthy options and veggies look great, however my chicken souvlaki was a mix of dark meat and fat. I had to pick it out of my pita. Please upgrade your meat.

Never been to a Pita Pit before, and very excited to see it open. I love anything pita, and was looking forward to hummus, chicken soulvaki, etc. I hate to write a negative review; this location just opened, so I am sure they are still working the bugs out with regards to training and consistency. But on this visit, at lunch, it was a disaster! First, when asking the cashier what the Local pita is(it’s supposed to be a pita created for the area the store is located in), she actually said it was a bunch of different«stuff» before looking at her cheat sheet and naming the actual meats that were in it. Stuff! I ordered 3 pitas, all very different. One little hummus, one chicken soulvaki and one gyro. Now, after you order, you go down to to veggie station(a la subway) to tell them how to garnish your pita. It’s a small work station with roughly 6 workers elbowing for room to prep your pita. There is no organization and no way to track who ordered what, so several customers at once are yelling across the prep station trying to claim their pita! It’s total chaos. It seemed like the majority of workers were being trained there on the spot, where they should have at least learned some basics before opening for business. Again, hopeing this will improve as they are open longer. Now to the pitas. The chicken souvlaki is supposed to be Mediterranean seasoned; I detected none. The portion of meat was tiny. The chicken is mixed white and dark meat, which I don’t like, and cut very tiny. They steam a «pita,» which is more like a super thin flour-style tortilla, but had the taste and consistency of a crêpe — I didn’t like it. They literally throw your meat and veggies in the pita and roll it up like a pillowcase — it’s a mess. The gyro pita had two paltry slices of preformed gyro style meat that was so salty! And don’t buy a pita to eat for later, because it turns into a soggy mess. I guess one good thing is that the chicken is real and not processed, and I know this, because my first bite into my pita produced a good-sized chicken bone! And these pitas aren’t cheap either — almost $ 7 for one with tax. I don’t believe that a new business wants to serve you bad food with chaotic service — they want you to come back and they really try their best to provide a quality product. So i think this location needs to be up and running longer to hit their stride and be better organized, and I think they will get there eventually. But the food itself I don’t get it. Probably won’t try again, and not just this location, but at any Pita Pit. Just nothing impressive about it for the price.

I was so excited when I learned that Pita pit opened by my office. Did you know that they deliver? Super delicious food and it’s pretty healthy too! I am obsessed with the tzatziki sauce! Can’t get enough of that stuff
