Today I experienced a taste like none other. Something so simple as grilling the same Wings over a fire to make them crisp with the flame broiled taste. I can never eat traditional style wings the same without coming here ! Thank you!

Summary: After coming in, I soon found out that the main reason most people come here is for their wings. Take note that they only cook one type of wing, but this results in consistently well made wings. The wings take a while to cook because they are not your ordinary wing that has been drenched in dry or wet rub after being fried in oil. They actually use a wet rub prior to grilling them over an open flame. This results in a wing that is less messy(compared to most wet-rubs) and provides a great char. I’m salivating thinking of it. Pros: The wings. As summarized above. Social scene of mostly post-college 20s and slowly maturing 30 somethings. People are nice. Additionally, the beers that i got here were cheap and they had a wide selection if you wanted to pay more. Cons: This is a packed pub. You can expect to wait nearly 15 – 20 minutes to be served at the bar. Also, if you order wings, their main staple, you can expect to wait an hour for them to be served. I went on a Wednesday with a group of friends and i heard this is expected. Note: This place does not have waiting staff. The way you order is by fighting through to the bar and telling them where your table is at. But hey, they actually remember! Given the cons, I do feel this place is worth a try if you love wings. Edit: By Lori’s reply, I intend to clarify that I think not having a wait staff is NOT a con. This is more of a note so that anyone new does not wait for a server/bartender to come by… But if suggestions are being taken, maybe a dedicated place to order wings at the bar may alleviate some of the hassle of rubbing elbows with people trying to get drinks.

Hands down the BESTWINGS in MKE, and the best STAFF! Well worth the wait. Whenever anyone comes to town, I always take them to Points East. I can’t say enough good things about the place. I know of two former vegetarians who started eating meat again, thanks to Points East Wings.

Fantastic wings. Be prepared to wait 20 plus minutes for food if you go at peak times, but still worth the wait.

Walked in, ordered a $ 4.25 pint, was told the wait for wings was at least an hour and ½. Pounded my beer & went somewhere else to spend my money. Are here last year and waited over an over for food. They were good but not worth the wait. Fix your business. It’s not even that crowded and you have to wait that long for food?

Hands down the BEST wings in Milwaukee. Kind of a dive bar– but that’s what makes this place AWESOME. It has character! :)

I’ve been going to Points East for a few years now and these are hands down the best wings you will find anywhere. They are different from pretty much every wing you’ve ever had and almost impossible to describe. Large pieces but still easy to eat while holding your beer, spicy but not hot, sauced but not dripping, fried and grilled but not overly greasy or charred. Consistently perfect in every way. You are going to wait a while for a table and longer for wings. The bar is noisy and crowded. And the wings are worth every bit of it. The anchorage in Buffalo may have invented it, and BWWs may have nailed the marketing, but Points East has perfected the wing.

Yes, come for the wings, but stay for everything else. No avoiding it, the wings are what bring people through the door, and they are amazing. You might wait over an hour to get them, but they are still worth the wait. Plan accordingly. That being said, the wings are not the only amazing thing about this place. The entire staff are beyond amazing. There is little time in a busy place for conversation and chit chat, but every bar tender/cook/doorman I have encountered have been salt of the earth. Look beyond the wings, the rest of the menu is prepared with just as much care as the wings, and it shows in the product. Just remember that this is a bar that serves food, and not a restaurant that has a bar. Order at the bar, get a drink from the huge liquor selection or their solid beer list and enjoy your time.

I’m not a wing person, but my coworker from out of town asked where to get good wings. So, I recommended this place from what I’ve heard. My goodness, what I’ve heard was right! These wings are soooooooo good! There’s only one flavor. Kinda refreshing so, no, you can’t get honey habenero or Parmesan peppercorn with lime and concocted things like that, which I believe never taste as good as they sound anyway and there shouldn’t be a ton of weird crap with your wings, anyway! The one variety of wings is amazing because it’s a dry rub — my favorite is always the dry rub with meats — and grilled, also a fan of the char. You order at the bar, so a bit unorthodox but that’s ok. I was in for a Packer game and would not recommend this place for football watching, the TVs are way too small and located up in corners of the ceiling. At times I could not see at all where the football was. But take it from this girl, who is never impressed by wings: these wings are so awesome! I want more! Want to go back!

Awesome wings! Hard to order a drink when it crowded, so order two at a time. I had been here many times and I must say the wings are excellent, some of the best in all of Milwaukee! When you come here it’s going to be busy, crowded, there is going to be a wait for food, and when the food finally arrives you’re going to be okay with the wait because it will be delicious! If you have not already you need to get down here and give it a try.

Ill start by saying this place was overhyped by too many of my friends. Some referred to it as «the best wing place in Mke» and when I hear that I have to be skeptical because that is a tough title to have. The first time i went there was a 2 hour wait on wings. Ill say im glad I didnt wait that long because when I went a second time and had the wings I was not very impressed. For one there is only one flavor of wings(hot), which I suppose is okay but leaves little to be desired when other places give you like fifty options. Another issue is that the wings were average, subpar even, given how dry and burnt they were. I was expecting something better but oh well, at least I wasnt the one who paid for lunch. The bar itself is nice, definitely a place where you can watch sports with the guys. The staff seems friendly enough. In short, i hardly think this is the best wing place in Mke but its my opinion. As always, you know what you like so give it a shot and see if it works for you.

Yum! Upon the recommendation of a friend my boyfriend and I had lunch at Points East Pub while visiting Milwaukee. We were told their wings are the best and they were awesome! Points East is no frills but in the best way possible. Grab a table, check out the menu posted on the wall, and head to the bar to order your drink and some of their delicious fare. We went with… Jalapeño Poppers: Beware, these are a bit different than your average jalapeño popper as they are stuffed with red jalapeños which are much sweeter; however, totally yummy and worth ordering. Garlic Fries: I have a problem seeing garlic fries on a menu and not ordering them so these were a must. They were delicious and probably my favorite thing we sampled. Definitely skip the regular french fries at Points East! Wings: We went with 12 wings and needless to say there were none left by the end of our lunch. Their wings are grilled and the sauce is great. A very refreshing change from the deep fried, over sauced wings that so many bars are serving these days. All in all we really enjoyed our meal at Points East and would highly recommend it to anyone in Milwaukee searching for a neighborhood bar with excellent food.

I am not a «wing» man. I hate dealing with all the bones for the minuscule amounts of meat you get. I hate the sauce dripping all over my fingers. I hate how I have to wipe my face after every few bites. I have avoided going here for years because«Oh my god wings,» really wasn’t a big sell for me. Finally, after living on the east side for nearly 5 years, I was convinced to go with a group of friends after we found out that our first choice lunch spot was closed for the day… I am a fool. These wings were Fan-fucking-tastic. They are flavorful, smokey, moist, and best of all… THEYARENOTOOZINGWITHSAUCE. I can actually eat these and feel like a normal damn person! The flavor and spice are right on, being enticing without being hot for the sake of being hot. The only downside was, being made by hand fresh, they can take a while to come out. We were waiting about 45 minutes on a ¾ full day. The staff was friendly, fast, and surprisingly organized considering that all orders are placed at the bar. I was surprised that the bartender that took my order immediately knew where I was sitting and with who, as soon as I walked up to the bar. I will definitely be coming back, I can’t wait to bring these glorious bastards home for a night of netflix fueled hedonism and debauchery. Feel free to join the gluttony. EDIT: I’ve just been made aware that they cannot do to-go orders, since it would make the wait time too long for dine-in customers… Well then, I’ll just have to order 18 wings, and bring the rest home for later then! Go on Monday. Order chicken tacos, wings, jalapeño poppers, frickles, beer. Most importantly, DON’T SHARE. You don’t love anyone enough to share those poppers with, except maybe your hot date. Don’t let your friends eat them. You’ll be disappointed and want more. Tacos are only served on Mondays and they seem unremarkable. But they’re not. Slap some hot sauce on them and shove ‘em into your grateful mouthhole. The wings are always available and always great. The poppers, though, are the reason I come. I don’t like poppers. Cream cheese-filled items gross me out and taste bland. But Points poppers… drool. They slice the pepper in half long-ways and fill with flavorful cream cheese and fry them up into the delicious treat that I force myself to share with Boyfriend. Last time we went, we beat our large group by about 20 minutes. We stealthily ordered then inhaled the poppers just to avoid sharing. I do not regret being selfish. You sons of bitches get your own damn poppers. I will share lesser food, like wings. I could say things about their beer selection/pricing, or how the mixed drinks are nice and strong, but I don’t care about those thing. I focus on the mountains of delicious fried items that I need to eat faster than anyone else. Note: they do not allow children in here ever, of any kind. No babies, no toddlers, no supervised teens. They won’t let you in, so leave the kids at home.

Buck-fiddy PBR bottles on Wednesday and Joy Division on the speakers. This is a good start to my third visit here. Also, arriving early enough that there are only a few people at the bar means I’m finally going to have the wings that everyone has been raving about these last several years. The beer prices have been fine on my previous visits, but the place has always been so packed that there was no prayer in getting a seat to actually eat here. The wings aren’t cheap, but that shouldn’t stop you. It’s okay to spend for quality. $ 16 for 18 substantially sized wings that are cooked in a two step process, served crispy with a little char from the grill. There’s only one flavor, and it’s got a little bit of bite, but that’s really all they need. I had the 18 with an order of the seasoned sweet potato waffle fries and only left a few fries behind. I’m also a fatty when it comes to wings, so you may not need that many. I loved them. I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone as being top-tier in the city. If I can find the time, I’ll try to be back in again before the official Milwaukee departure. To note: get there early and still be prepared to wait once you’ve ordered. As they point out clearly, they are a bar that serves food, not a restaurant. The kitchen isn’t built for speed.

Americas’ best wings(and drummies)! The most important thing about PEP is they bought the wing recipe from Brett’s Brett when he sold. They also have a very large-for-it’s-size-bar high end(and low end) beer list, and they bring in some top notch drafts for their five rotating taps. Many many more TVs now than the old days. Unfrozen chicken parts are continually brought up from the basement in 40 pound bags, quick fried, dipped in the magic sauce bucket, and grilled. Obviously not a dry rub, though the end result is a spicy herby dry rub from heaven. A very important aspect for me is the charred beauties rarely have any fat globules that often plague chicks. People seem to like the other food as well… whatever, do you go to Carnevor for their shrimp?, order the wings first! There is often a long wait, always a wait, wait! Update: a millions of miles traveler friend of mine who hits the far off places I haven’t been to yet vouches that these are the best wings in the world, not just the Americas.

Bryan and I walked in on a beautiful Thursday night, and it was game on. We took a quick look around, positioned ourselves, and picked a corner. That, my friends, is how you get a table at Points East Pub on wing night. We ordered a couple of drinks and staked out our corner. Finally, a table became available and we snagged it. Once we did, our server came over a told us that it was an hour and a half wait on the wings. Patience isn’t always my strong suit, but I had a chair and a beer so I was in it for the long haul. Those wings do not disappoint. We proceeded to order some onion petals as an appetizer and a couple more beers — no problems there. Service is a little slow and you have to order everything at the bar, but that isn’t a huge deal. It’s just something to be aware of. The wings eventually found their way to our table and they were amazing. Points East grills the wings, which gives them a flavor like none I’ve ever had(and is also why the wait is longer). If you love wings, these should be added to your rotation.

By far my favorite place to get wings in the city. The wings are crispy with black crunchies on the edges; no sauce, just a straightforward char. Nice spice but not spicy. I’m also a sucker for jalapeño poppers and they hit the spot. The establishment is a humble corner bar with lots of TVs and decent(but never enough!) seating. No matter when you go, expect to wait at least an hour for your wing order… but TOTALLYWORTHIT. Beer offerings are solid. You have to order at the bar for everything which isn’t a huge deal. They’re a bit slow to bussing tables too. No kids allowed and they stopped doing to go until spring so head up!

Wings: 5 stars Service: 2 stars Drinks(beer selection): 4 stars Average: 3.5 — rounding up The wings were great — grilled and full of flavor. They do take longer than you would expect. Unilocaler Carrie G. ordered pickle fries and they were nice and crispy since the pickle was sliced thinly. There was no table service and you have to order at the bar. I would have had no clue had I not been meeting up with other people. The beer selection was above average, yet not impressive. I would go back, but they don’t rank at the top of my list.
