Ok, so I chose this place because I had just gotten my chopped off at a different salon down the street(not going to name names) and I really didn’t like it. The previous stylist did not listen at all to what I actually wanted, so I was hesitant about going into the cutting group. I walked in and the place was empty(granted it was the middle of the day on a weekday). The stylist helped me right away. I explained my situation and what I actually wanted with my hair. She was listened carefully and did a great job with my hair. I didn’t catch her name but she said she is usually a stylist at the Riverwest location. I told her I am very low maintenance when it comes to styling and she showed me how I can style my hair at home in a simple way. Overall, I was super happy with my experience and think the haircut looked great for the price!

I had great skepticism of the quality I would receive because of the cheaper than normal charge for a woman’s haircut. I’ve been here three times and each time I left a very happy customer. Keri is great! No complaints.

I went in here, needing a hair cut and I had a gift card so I figured I’d give it a shot. The stylist was the only person there, but she let me get my hair cut immediately. She’d definitely benefit from having another stylist, but it was noon on a Friday so I get it. She asked me what I wanted and did a great job listening to exactly what I want. I’d never had my hair dry cut before, but she did a great job! She uses Bumble & Bumble products, which are great and her styling was awesome after. With any walk-in place, you need to be absolutely clear with what you want unless you’re a regular.

I came here for a haircut because I really needed one, live in Bay View and drive past The Cutting Group all the time & was drawn to the $ 25/haircut deal. I walked in and apparently I scared the stylist when I walked in because she jumped about 10 feet into the air when the bell on the door dinged(she has her back towards the door). She didn’t acknowledge me, which is fine I guess, I signed in. I waited about 15 minutes which wasn’t too bad. I brought a picture with me of what I wanted, which wasn’t too different from my current hair style but just a bit shorter. In my mind, it shouldn’t be too hard to do. She started cutting my hair and finished with one side — I mentioned that it was a lot shorter than I anticipated(and it was shorter than what the picture showed) — she said that there were a lot of layers from what she could see in the picture and she was following the picture so that’s why it is shorter than it should have been. I told her that I guess it was fine because hair will grow out. From then on, her demeanor changed and she told me she hadn’t cut someone’s hair too short in 10 years… awesome that it had to be me. She quickly finished after that and when I was checking out my haircut in the mirror, she said that she hoped the back was okay because she didn’t want my hair growing out like I had a mullet. Gee thanks! At this point, I didn’t care anymore and just wanted to leave so I said it was fine. I will most likely be going elsewhere to get it fixed. The haircut ended up being free, which I assume was because I mentioned that the haircut she gave me was shorter than the picture & what I was looking for. Also when I got home, I noticed that the hair on the left side of my head was at least an inch shorter than the hair on the right side of my head… fantastic! I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back… I’ve gone to other salons that did a better job. ***And on another note: a customer came in to buy some hair product & she was allowed by the hair stylist(who was the only stylist there and was cutting my hair) to check herself out. I wasn’t aware that companies allowed customers to check themselves out unless it is a self check out at the grocery store.
