St louis bbq rib rack was outstanding ! huge portion …½ is plenty. Crawfish Etoufee was very good. I mean this is an old diner that has counter top and small booths. Not for everyone but for those that like BBQ and a bohemian kind of place, a diner/drive in and dive… this ISYOURSPOT! yes, it is cash only. You may bring beer or wine. Portions are all good, mains come with two small sides. Mine were collard greens and bbq beans. Excellent… cant wait to go back. Service was both attentive and friendly.

Chicken and waffles!!! Best comfort food. Love it! And the beef brisket is perfect too. I just hope one day they will accept debit or credit card for convenience

This has to be one of my favorite places for comfort food, especially their Barbecue pulled pork and fried okra! Very generous with the entrée. Had the Bourbon Pecan pie for dessert. Came out very happy and satisfied! Got to meet one of the owners and is very nice and accommodating. Booths are limited but it’s fun hanging out by the counter. Everyone is very friendly.

King brisket, it’s a big deal, A BIGFREAKINDEAL, eat here, you won’t regret it. I mean it, YOUWILLNOTREGRETIT. I give you my word as professional restaurant critique. Which I am because I have a Unilocal account.

Biscuits & Barbeque was another restaurant from the Newsday Top 100 that was on our 2015 – 6 bucket list. When I tried to add this all up, I couldn’t get past three stars. When I eat at a BBQ place, the thing I remember the most shouldn’t be dessert. The seating is uncomfortable, it’s cash only which is a pain, and for what you get it’s a little over-priced. Just because it’s a dive doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable, but the booth’s are too small for adults. I landed on three stars. The food is ok, but not off the charts. I had the spicy wings, and they were good but bordered on too spicy. I also has the red beans & rice with andouille, and frankly it was a little bland. My younger son had a ½ rack of ribs which was good and a very large portion(at least 8 ribs) and he also highly recommended the cheesy grits. My older son had the pulled pork which was decent but not exceptional. He loved the cheddar jalapeño mashed potatoes. Best of the night was the Turtle pie. It was a brownie-like thick crust with chocolate mousse, whipped cream, candied nuts and chocolate and caramel sauce on top. The brownie was a little dry but the flavor was excellent. Still, for $ 85 for three people, and I only an appetizer and a side dish, I just don’t see making the trip back here.

I have eaten here twice, very cool atmosphere being an old train car style diner with a bayou flair. Seafood gumbo is awesome and definitely not good spot for healthy choices so be prepared to go all out. A great little find in the middle of nowhere! A must for foodies to check out.

Went here for our first time on Saturday 1⁄16. Service from the beginning was outstanding. Immediately greeted, seated as soon as the next table became available and attended to by a server within a minute of sitting down. Food was excellent… Definitely recommend the Mac and cheese and chicken and waffles :-). It is a small place with very limited seated so you may have to wait a bit if it’s busy but it’s well worth it and the environment is extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

This place is the reason I love Unilocal because without it, I would never have come here. We were looking for some good food after a long day of exploring Long Island and after seeing the reviews and menu decided this would be our destination. There is literally no way we ever would have known to come here and even if we did drive by, we probably would have kept on driving as from the outside it looks like just an older local diner. With that being said, at we discovered inside was amazing. The staff and what seemed to be manager or owner who was sitting at he counter were very friendly. They gave us plenty of time to review the menu which had so many good options it really was hard to decide. We went with fried green tomatoes to start which were very good with a spicy dipping sauce which was a great pairing. Then we split the ½ fried chicken plate with jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes and beans with brisket and a side order of the Mac ‘n cheese. The chicken was so delicious it alone gives me reason to return. The skin was seasoned perfectly and had the perfect balance of breading without being too much. We were split on the two sides, I really liked the mashed but could have done without the beans and the young lady was the exact opposite. That brings me to the mac n cheese… I don’t think I’ve ever had one with so much cheese. I love cheese so to me this was the best. I felt like I died when I dug in and the cheese was dripping off. It had great flavor, absolutely would order this again but I would probably say this would be for real cheese lovers only as someone not too crazy about large amounts of cheese would probably find this too much. Not this guy though. My only complaint is I couldn’t order more items on the menu! I want to come back and try more! It is cash only which is a bit of a bummer but aside from that there was no issues here and the whole experience was fantastic. I look forward to my return!

What I would consider, cubic zirconia in the rough. It’s small size would add to its charm if it could fairly accommodate the amount of business they do. Too many times have I been here and seating is just not available. The only reason I keep returning is the food. This is the best place to get Cajun cuisine«bayou». On my last visit it enjoyed the fried pickles to start, followed by a delicious Cajun mac & cheese. The food is great but is also slow to come out. One cool tid bit about this place is its BYO beer or wine. Usually I spend a bit more time on a review, but there isn’t much to rave about. It’s slightly overpriced food in a diner that is too small, with a staff that is slow. Oh and just be mindful its CASHONLY.

The food was fantastic. The most amazing cheesiest mac & cheese I have ever eaten. Husband liked the fried chicken and waffles. Chicken was moist but the waffle wasn’t crispy. Seemed like it was made ahead of time and just reheated. But whatever… he was still happy. The pulled pork was delicious. Had to drop 1 star only because it’s super tight in there. We were 3 adults and 1 child squished into a booth. They also handed us 3 different menus(the regular menu, the breakfast menu and the specials menu — so it was a bit overwhelming!) Again… not that big a deal. Can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes!

The staff and cooks are friendly. Food came out quick. It’s a cute little dinner set up. Everything is made fresh. The ribs are to die for. You get your money’s worth. Classic home cooked meal. Portion size is more then enough for one person. The biscuits are huge! The butter was interesting flavor too! Even though we were full we heard such great things about dessert and took it To go and we were glad we did. Banana cream pie was also fabulous! Went back again and it was just as delicious as the first time! Staff so friendly and we even got a few good tips on cooking some of their favorite recipes!

I came in for dinner and I guess my expectation was a lot higher than I anticipated. A major disappointment with their food and has been overly hyped on Unilocal.I like their originally of using a trailer as a restaurant but a little pricey for the experience and food quality. We ordered the beef briskets for $ 18.95 for 3 slices and Half Rack of ribs I believe was $ 17.95. The beef briskets were okay nothing too exciting and 3 slices was a little pricey. The half rack ribs were overly salted and all I tasted were salt and BBQ sauce. I expected a little more when it came to side dishes not cupcake size portions. The beans were mildly good. And I have to agree with another Unilocaler that the Biscuit which I substitute for an additional $ 2 was a big inflated biscuit… Popeye’s had better biscuits. Overall, I can’t recommend this place for its BBQ and it is a one shot and forget about it restaurant. I think up north we treat any type of BBQ as a luxury commodity when down south they are a dime a dozen. And I hate to say this but this restaurant wouldn’t be around if it were in the south.

This isn’t as dazzling as I expected given the connection with the(sadly departed) Delta Grill, but the menu is interesting and the service was super-friendly and efficient. I’d like to go back for fried chicken and dessert next time. The gumbo has gotten Unilocal raves. I found it skippable The shrimp and grits had some good sauces and a few unexpected elements like pecans. I thought both of the items could have been spicier. I was happier with the collard greens and the red beans and rice, both strategically deploying meat(turkey and Andouille sausage, respectively.)

I’m contacting Guy Fiore immediately because if ever there was a Diner with incredible food that was uncharacteristic of it’s unadorned outside appearance, this is it… complete with the cute name to boot. Make it a point to get over to B&B for the ribs, the biscuits, the yummy sides and apps, just everything is cooked to perfection. I don’t know what to recommend to everyone most. The ribs tangy and tender; the beans with brisket were so good I ate every bite; and the biscuit with gravy… mmm, that’s the one; don’t dare forget to order at least one! You will think you’re in Lafayette, Louisiana, right here in Mineola. The young lady and gentleman serve their eight? tables attentively with southern personality. But next time I’d like to make the acquaintance of this brilliant chef behind the scenes. That’s what makes Biscuits and BBQ an a-plus stop for breakfast lunch or supper. Yes, supper. What you get here should not be insulted by simply calling it dinner.

Round two didn’t disappoint. We bought our own bottle of wine and had a scrumptious meal. My new fave local restaurant. Everything was perfect including service. Come back, and I will.

Came here on a recommendation from a fellow Unilocal elite member. Located in Mineola Long Island this small old-school Louisiana Cajun Creole spot will make you feel like you’re in New Orleans. Now it doesn’t look like New Orleans style from the exterior let me tell you the food is as amazing as if you were sitting in a small little café on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. This place won’t disappoint your taste buds. With it’s all metal exterior and small diner booths and barstools it gives you the old-school vibe but don’t let that fool you. For an appetizer I tried their hush puppies, now any place that has hush puppies on the menu is a must try. For an appetizer they totally weren’t skimping on the hush puppies either you get six huge ones with a side of sauce. Amazing!!! I tried the chicken and waffles perfectly crispy chicken on the outside and moist chicken on the inside cooked to perfection alongside waffles with their special butter a must try if you like fried chicken and waffles I also tried some of their jambalaya which is something I will return to have again. If you like Louisiana style cooking then this place won’t disappoint you.

We’ve been here twice before writing this review and both times were impressive. The food is to die for and the service is good as well . Likes: — Old school diner atmosphere — Good selection of BBQ on the menu — Food was cooked to perfection — BYOB!!! Eats: — Chicken and Waffles… chicken was amazing; whatever was used to crisped the skin, keep on doing it. I wish I can just order fried chicken skin :) Chicken was also juicy as can be. Waffles were made fresh. — Turkey Burger also tasted homemade and was made fresh. The second time we came around we were going to order a turkey burger and they ran out. — Shrimp Po Boy… yummy. Shrimp was a generous portion; bread was fresh as well as the ingredients. — Biscuit and gravy… recommended. Just advice, it’s huge. — Peach Cobbler… not a big fan of but my wife loved it Tips: — Cash Only I can’t wait to come back again and see what is on their specials menu as that is ever changing.

I enjoyed my shrimp étouffée but I’m not sure I’d ever order it again. It needed more rice but it did have a good flavor. Even though I think it needed more rice it was still a good portion. I wasn’t stuffed so that’s good. But I think if I hadn’t eaten all of my sides I would have been hungry. I devoured the coleslaw and vegetable of the day. The seafood gumbo was quite good and I recommend you try it. My whole family enjoyed it when we tried it. In Fact my dad gets it every time we go. I don’t know what the big deal is about their muffins biscuits whatever they are. They are quite big and nice to share but I found it to be very dry and a little tasteless. But then it’s good that you get the honey butter and some kind of preserver something that goes along with it that gives it a nice sweet flavor. My mom’s chicken and waffles were quite good it was a nice large portion. So I think it would be hard for you to leave hungry after that one. My dad really enjoyed his blackened salmon. It looked quite yummy on the plate very nice presentation from such a little hole in the wall looking place. The service was good and everyone seemed nice. I would like to go back here sometime soon

B&B is an A-OK spot, for sure. It has plenty going for it, but also needs a bit of upgrading. Sure, the divey-ness is part of it’s charm, but for me, I need a basic level of comfort to return to a spot. First off, it’s cash only and there isn’t a nearby ATM. It’s literally a half a mile away. Please, please get an ATM. Put it outside. Getting into my car for a 10 min r/t drive so you don’t have to pay CC fees is unacceptable, especially when you’re not passing off the savings to your customers. Inside, the booths need updating as well. I’m not saying ‘go modern’, but can we go ‘fix the dented cushions in the booths so I don’t sit tipped over while eating my meal?’. On tot he food… The smoked wings are solid. Good sauce and a nice smoke on them. The po’boy’s were below average. Nothing special about the pulled pork(well, besides the huge chunks of fat) and BBQ chicken versions. They tasted like a sandwich you would make at home… when you’re in a rush. Overall, I love the idea of this place, but for my meal, it didn’t execute. I’m sure with some better ordering on my next visit I can overlook the Cash Only and décor(based on other fantastic reviews), but during my visit it was just an OK experience.
