Amazing! Truly was the highlight of our trip! Les, Diane, and their menagerie(Haggis, Buckaroo, Major and the gang) were beyond wonderful! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel right at home. Being the only guests you feel special immediately. The cottage was perfect… the patio with two rocking chairs to just relax, read, have your morning coffee, or just visit with the chickens as they scurry around the yard. We had everything you could possibly need from the fully equipped kitchen, to the bed which was so comfortable you sleep like a baby! Delicious warm chocolate chip cookies that Diane leaves every night before drifting off to sleep and the morning tray with muffins or cinnamon rolls followed by a truly over the top breakfast just makes this place even more special. But the topper to this place is Les and Diane. Chatting with them and getting to know them and how they came to have this wonderful place is quite interesting. The love they have for this place and all the animals they’ve rescued and brought to their forever home is incredible and so touching. You can tag along and get involved as much as you like with daily life at Horse Creek Stables. We were never made to feel we were in the way and actually got an education on some of the animals. For us, this was a remarkable place to stay. So much so, we didn’t want to leave! Can’t recommend Horse Creek Stable highly enough!

The wife and I stayed here last weekend for Friday and Saturday night. It was amazing! What’s really cool about this place is that you are the only guest that is there when you book it. You have the whole place to yourself without worrying about people always being in your business and such. The cottage is WAY off the beaten path nestled on 36 beautiful acres in Mineral Bluff. I can tell you I’ve been to many, many places and this was quite a welcome retreat. When we pulled up, the owners, Les and Diane, greeted us by name and I could tell from the moment we met them, they were good folk. The cottage sits in very close proximity to their house. It was originally a garage that they converted into a cottage, but don’t let it discourage you; it was PERFECT for us, or for any couple looking for a weekend away. The cottage is in awesome condition and they spared no expense building it. It has all the amenities you could ask for! A breakfast to die for was brought to us each morning freshly made by Diane. Pancakes, bacon, lots of fresh fruit, farm eggs, you name it! A breakfast like this anywhere would cost you over $ 20 a pop, but was included in the price of the stay. Also, Diane brought over cookies one night and muffins the next, just as a nicety. The owners were not intrusive at all. They were only as involved as we wanted them to be. Now for us; we love good people, so we hung out a lot! On the farm, which is a rescue for animals that have been abused or abandoned, was extremely therapeutic for the wife and myself. We got to meet all of the different animals which included: 4 horses, two alpacas, two dogs, two goats, one llama, and a host of chickens! What was even better is we got to feed them all and interact with them as much as we wanted to(I LOVE feeding me some chickens!). I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed staying here. I personally have been a ton of places around the states and have only met a handful of people that were as pleasant and down to earth as Les and Diane. They are good Christian people. If we go back to the area in the future, staying here will be a given. If you’re looking for a party house, don’t bother staying here, but if you’re looking for a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the everyday life and want the serenity of a weekend away among God’s creation, surrounded by loving animals, and good people… welcome home!
