I went to purchase native wild flowers for our new rain garden and they have lots of varieties and sizes. They also have herbs, annuals, and berries. I was most impressed by the courteous service of the young gal working today. I recommend to people to stop by Amelia’s first before going to large chain stores for your plant and flower needs.

This is a lovely shop in a quaint neighborhood– of course, I’m a bit biased, since I live in this neighborhood. Exploring Amelia’s is like entering a fairy playhouse. The flowers are fresh, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and the gift items– like bird houses, candles, and clay pots– are simply beautiful. My only complaint is that the prices for bouquets are a bit over the top. I got a small hand-tied bouquet of spray roses and wild flowers, and it was close to $ 40. That may have just been my ignorance in choosing flowers, and they did last a while, but that price seemed excessive to me.

Amelia’s Flower Shop is the stuff of dreams — for little girls and boys and adults. Don’t believe me? Pretty flowers scattered in a shop fit for a tea party…(with an outside garden? greenhouse?) Red worms. $ 18 for 500, $ 36 for 1000. I hear the owner perfects weddings with her flower arrangements. Pretty girls who talk to you about plants and what you can’t kill or else you shouldn’t be taking care of plants. As for what dream is for who, I will let you decide…

Amelia’s Flower and Garden Shoppe is amazing! Everyone that works there is so sweet, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. And the shoppe itself is adorable. My sister used Amelia’s for her wedding flowers. She worked closely with the owner, Christina, who did an amazing job! Christina went above and beyond, using the freshest, most beautiful flowers(mostly locally grown/environmentally friendly). She also helped immensely by decorating the ceremony(aisle, altar, reserved seating signs, candles), creating table numbers(incorporated fruit and more candles), and the seating cards. My sister had a gorgeous wedding, and it was mostly due to Christina’s creative vision. She only had a few weeks to put it all together, and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. Highly recommended to all the Minnesota brides!

What a wonderful and charming environmentally friendly/sustainable flower/garden shoppe! We came in to get potting soil(they carry organic soil with worm compost) and I completely fell in love! We also picked up some seeds(Seed Savers) and the cutest little succulent in the world. The greenhouse is absolutely adorable and has this wonderful feel to it like you’ve stepped into another world. Sinatra was playing and it just made the whole atmosphere kind of swoon-worthy. You can tell that the plants and products are all high quality with care and thought put into them and where they’ve come from. There is a focus on sustainability and local, which in my mind, sets this place apart from so many other places. Flowers are Vera Flora and Rainforest Alliance certified and when in season, local too! If you don’t want to feel badly about getting flowers, these criteria should be an absolute must because the regular flower industry is absolutely wretched. I saw on the website that they also carry native plants from Landscape Alternatives but we were too early in the season for that. There is an awesome vermicomposting set up and the plants are fertilized with the worm tea from right there. You can also attend a vermicomposting class, which I definitely intend to do! I saw on the website that the class price is only $ 10 or $ 45 with a basic bin set-up — sweet. Oh and there are rainbarrels and the water from these is used to water the plants. The owner woman was really helpful and wonderfully nice. We asked her about the giant jade plant behind the register area and it really allowed me to see how deep her passion for plants is. I don’t live that far from here but if I lived even closer I could see myself making this a frequent stop and I definitely would recommend anyone to stop in at the very least and check it out. There were also some other items, such as beeswax candles and smudge sticks.
