Had lunch here today and ordered the Rueben gluten free — it arrived and had a minor issue which i let them know about and they quickly remade it for me(and brought us a gf cookie to boot which was soooo not necessary but delicious). Their rueben meat was off the charts good and just the right amount of kraut, sauce and cheese. The service was kind, happy, efficient. We will be back!!! Thanks Gigi’s Gang!

At this point I have only been to Gigi’s twice and had very different experiences. I am going to give this place the benefit on the doubt and focus my review on my first visit. We arrived around 11am on a weekday hoping to find a satisfying breakfast. Mission accomplished! I ordered the Pulled Pork Hash and never looked back. The pork was flavourful, potatoes perfectly cooked, the egg yolks were runny and bright yellow … to sum up, PERFECTION! The only down side was my coffee; an enormous(and very heavy) mug filled with bitter, flavourless dish water. .. disaster. On my second visit I wanted to try something different and ordered the scrambled eggs with broccoli and cheddar. This proved to be a mistake of epic proportions. .. a seemingly fail free breakfast(i thought I was playing it safe) turned out to be so horrible that I couldn’t even get through half of it. The toast had a strange grainy substance on it, which seemed to be masquerading as butter. butter it was NOT! The eggs and potatoes were drowning in a puddle of grease and the broccoli was watery and flavourless. Finally I gave up on this eating experiment and decided to head over to Patisserie 46 for some awesome coffee cake. Although my second visit to Gigi’s was pretty terrible, I would like to go back for some AMAZING Pulled Pork Hash. At some point, I may even build up the courage to try something new again.

If you like talking about crossfit and dicks, this place is for you. If you’d rather have a great meal with great people, go to Our Kitchen across the street.

This spot has become my new favorite hangout! Right up the street from where I live, whenever I want a quick breakfast, lunch, or to meet a friend, I suggest going to Gigi’s. Spacious, bright interior, FREE WiFi, friendly servers, good food, good coffee — can’t be beat! In fact, I ordered a Reuben from Gigi’s today and LOVEDIT. Highly recommended for a chill/meet up spot.

GiGi’s is a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat and chat amongst friends. I usually have the Cubano Sandwich and Kettle Chips with an accompanied Fulton Lonely Blonde. The Cubano is a generous portion and comes with a salty pickle. In the summer the sidewalk seating is pretty busy, so try to grab a seat. The service is as expected in Uptown, but they are quite nice and courteous. Highly recommended and will continue to visit this Uptown gem.

Love Gigi’s. It’s in our neighborhood, and has become our go-to for weekend mornings that we just don’t want to cook at home. The food is always delicious, and the menu has a variety for everyone in the family. Admittedly, I often get the Pulled Pork Hash, which is flipping devine. They have a full menu of «morning drinks», lattes and teas, which is nice to have in one place. Going to two different places to get a breakfast and proper chai tea latte is a bother so this is a great option if you want to settle in with a paper or a book and enjoy a breakfast out. It’s worth noting that I have brought my 4 year old here and she has always been welcome here and has had a good time. Just a fantastic place.

I never knew of Gigi’s until a good friend wanted to meet there. I honestly don’t go into any part of Minneapolis much. This place is quirky, fun, and has great food and service. the quiche and scrambles are wonderfully delicious. The portions are meant for human consumption without one leaving hungry. The guys who work here are pretty cool. They chat with you while you’re deciding and are quite helpful with answering questions and making suggestions. They never make you feel rushed or that they’re bothered by your indecision. If you find yourself over here, stop in. I’d be surprised if you were disappointed.

Tour de Quiche is back. If you’re not sure what that is, it’s where I order quiche frequently and then discuss it here. Unfortunately Gigi’s is a low point on the tour. They get points for friendly service an a nice in-between sort of atmosphere where you can have coffee and food and wine. I like those kinds of places, I just wish this one had better food. I typically love Kim Bartmann restaurants — the mussels at Barbette? The cocktails at Pat’s Tap? Come on. The best. And the last time I reviewed Gigi’s was when ownership had just changed(four years ago), so I gave them the benefit of the doubt when my pot pie wasn’t that amazing because I figured they were figuring things out. I’d been back every now and then for baked goods or coffee, but nothing really seems to have changed. This most recent meal was downright bad. Maybe it’s personal preference, but the last word I want to use when describing a quiche is dense — unfortunately, this was like a dense, egg-brick. None of the light fluffiness or buttery pastry. The crust was raw on the bottom and burned on the edges, the eggs were so overcooked that it was hard to eat with a fork alone. I got through about third of it and then gave up.

Pretty garn good! I went in here for a late second breakfast(AKA lunch) because breakfast at all times of day is appropriate. I couldn’t decide(shocker) so I asked the guy behind the counter on his preference between the pulled pork hash and the vegetable curry hash. He sais the vegetable curry ahsh was his favorite. SOLD. With poached eggs, please. It’s the kinda joint where you order and pay, and they give you a number for your table and they bring it out to you. Water is self-serve. They bus your table. The food itself was very good, but the portion was kinda small for the price, considering there isn’t any meat, just veggies and eggs. It was good though, and I polished it off. I asked the girl who dropped it off what the wifi password was, and she was nonchalantly cold about it, telling me it changes all the time so I should go up and ask at the front. The guy who took my order was great though. All in all, a charming little place. I won’t make a special trip here but I would come back if I am in the hood.

Love this place for its selection of raw & vegetarian ‘salad’ items. I usually get the side sampler with: tangy garbanzo salad, Tahini kale salad and broccoli salad with cranberries(my fav). While desserts will usually break my budget, I have to indulge with their great Key Lime Pie or brownies. Love this local café place!

Boy, I’m rewarded every time I just start driving aimlessly through my neighborhood in Minneapolis. Discovered this gem while rotating coffeeshops(from where I was doing work) because I was a bit hungry and undecided about where to go. I saw this neighborhood spot and noted that several people were using their laptops which consoled me bc I needed wifi. I walked in, browsed at the menu and decided to go with a bunless(upon request) pulled pork sandwich w/a side of mixed greens. Even better, they took my Amex card! I then found a place where I could post up and charge my laptop while continuing my work. The food came out rather quickly and I was a happy camper. Like other reviewers have noted, what makes this place cool is that i’ts not trying to be something it’s not. This is just your feel-at-home neighborhood café with decent meals, snacks and coffee. The only reason I’m docking one star is because I find lunch to be a tad bit on the pricey side for a place like this. Pulled pork sandwich and a side of mixed greens came out to $ 11.24(no drink). Not too reasonable IMO.

First time visitor. I stumbled upon Gigi’s by chance. I tried the corned beef hash and was blown away… very flavorful and a decent portion for a reasonable price. The service was very prompt and friendly. I definitely look forward to returning very soon.

This is a pretty good neighborhood restaurant. I’ve been satisfied when I’ve been in here. I love how this is a homely place. The people here are nice too. My favorite from here is their BLT’s.

I live very close to GiGi’s and have just started going there. Whether you’re going just to grab a coffee and bakery treat(cardamom sugar donuts are wonderful with coffee!) spend some time on your laptop, grab a quick sandwhich lunch, or sit down for dinner with family, it is a great place to go! At first, I wasn’t sure the environment would be that comfortable. But I love it-it’s simple and relaxed. Last night I had dinner with 5 others and there were no problems-we all finished our food, even my two picky 9 year old cousins! I tried their spinach walnut veggie burger, which is made with breadcrumbs and cheddar. It was phenomenal! So filling and delicious. Also, for a lunch I would recommend any of their half sandwiches with chips and a pickle for $ 4.50. The prices are very good, much cheaper than Starbucks or Caribou, and honestly better! I will definitely become a regular! :)

A friend and I found ourselves at Gigi’s while looking for a quick lunch after a sunny walk around the lakes. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely woman at the counter who took our order, then we sat at one of the tables outside. The waitress brought our orders out pretty quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was one of the best BLTs I’ve had in a while, and the salad was perfectly dressed. My friend had a grilled cheese with chips which looked pretty tasty. The location is weird — it’s very residential and there’s not much to look at in terms of people watching or pleasant scenery outside. We didn’t spend much time inside, but on a weekday afternoon in the summer there were 4 – 5 people in there working on their laptops, and there are other places around there that are more suitable to my preferred working environment. I doubt I’ll make the trek down there for coffee, but if I find myself in need of a tasty and reasonably priced lunch between the lakes, I’ll be sure to stop by.

I love this sunny little nook of the world. While many people commented on the décor being boring, I enjoy the minimalist style, warm color tones, and local art of the walls. Its not overdone, but is still inviting. Now, I’ve come here for 2 things. 1. Breakfast 2. Happy Hour Breakfast is wonderful! Anything with their roasted potatoes. EATIT. The prices are reasonable, around $ 8-$ 9, comes with potatoes and toast. Not bad. I can’t remember if the coffee is good or not. Happy Hour. Its nothing awesome. 3−6pm, $ 3 house wine, $ 1 bottles of beer. BUT, if you check in on Unilocal, you can get 2 glasses of wine at happy hour prices(with purchase of a food item, any food item). They have some really tasty salads, which you can get to-go for your lunch tomorrow. The cheese platter was delicious and beautiful and the hummus was simple, but surprisingly tasty. This place would be great to either hole up in the corner and get some work done, or sit in a sunny window with a friend.

What I like about Gigi’s is that it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s a neighborhood café serving reliably good food in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Their staff is consistently friendly and laid-back; the hip, cool girls that you want to be friends with in your early 20s. They treat their regulars well, offering the occasional coffee on the house or throwing in a free cookie with an order once in a while. Food is reliable and tasty — the boy often gets the curry chicken sandwich on ciabatta, and I’m always swiping bites of it. Their menu of salads(green and grain-based) and soups is constantly changing, and the counter display of baked goods always begs me to get one or two things — difficult to resist, as everything from cookies to scones to cupcakes are clearly made with lots of attention and are usually cheaper than other bakeries in the area. Several vegan and gluten-free options are available as well. If you’re here for a bite or a latte and a study session, I have good news for you: in the midst of this completely terrible winter of 2013 – 14, it’s so warm inside here! There’s nothing I hate more than a frigid coffee shop [cough, cough, Spyhouse on Hennepin]. Get the free wifi password at the cashier station and while you’re at the counter, check out the basket of day-old baked goods — so much deliciousness for so few dollars! Also, their Saturday Cheap Date Night special is amazing. Who offers a cheap date night on a Saturday?! I can’t wait to spend a lazy evening with a bottle of wine(and hopefully a date) on their patio this summer!
