The food was good, but not enough of it was provided in the«feast.» The service was slow and barely present, but the kicker was when the waitress adjusted my tip up before running my card. Beware.

Chino Latino has fantadtic food! They do Asain-Fushion the right way. Authenticity is still abundant on their menu, but the new flavor they add to those traditional dishes kicks butt! If you like to stay on the safe side of knowimg what your food will taste like i would highly reccomend their stir fry. It is by far the best stir fry ive ever had anywhere ever!!! Unfortunately Chino Latino has average service, and they must do something about controlling their bar area. They seat tables far too close to it so try to keep far away. Atmosphere can get noisy, and I don’t personally enjoy how dim they keep the lights. Parking is a headache, so before you show up plan to pay for street parking. I’ve never been able to park within 2 blocks of the restaurant. On the flip side of that coin, Chino Latino does sit conveniently nearby many businesses, mostly designer clothing stores.

My wife and I got a recommendation to go here and we were very glad that we went. The food was great and the portions are generous. Our waitress was knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the various options. Reader, if you go, I’d recommend going at Happy Hour time frame.

Went during happy hour. Great food and great drinks. Very nice place for a low profile hang out with great service.

Food is not bad. Kind of overpriced. Do NOT be fooled by their«Peruvian ceviche.» It’s not even ceviche and it’s certainly not Peruvian. I have no idea why they call it Peruvian ceviche, but it’s not. It’s good, whatever it is. But don’t eat it thinking that’s ceviche. Not even close! The real thing is VERY different. I suggest their management and cooks go on YouTube and learn how to make Peruvian ceviche if they are going to say they serve it. Or hire my Peruvian boyfriend to teach them! Haha!

The food was average, I was expecting the pineapple smoothie to be more sweet and tasty since it was so hyped. I also ordered the pad Thai, it had way too much greens and peanuts, I felt like that’s all I was getting out of the meal): my cousin also ordered some seasoned ribs, forgot what they were called on the menu. But it didn’t come with rice and so we had to pay $ 5 extra for a TINY bowl of rice. Ridiculous. BUT, our waitress Lauren was awesome! She’s the best waitress I’ve ever had. My other cousin ordered poki, and she thought that it would come with rice like the other mainstream poki that is going around, but the platter was small and there was no rice. So Lauren got her free dessert on the house cause she didn’t want us to leave unhappy. She connected with us as well.

Disappointing experience! I held by brother’s birthday party there this weekend and was told at the door that I could not bring in my homemade cake to me served because of possible«health code violations». Many of my friends and family have been hosting their birthday parties at Chino’s for years and I was quite surprised when they told me they would not be allowing this after I spent hours making a special cake for my brother. What bothered me most is that their host and manager made it seem like I should have asked ahead if I could do this. I’m sorry, but I have never heard of this before and even called the restaurant ahead of time to inform them that this reservation was for a birthday party and feel I should have been informed at that point by the staff that no home-made desserts were allowed in. Luckily, I was able to scramble during the birthday dinner to find another establishment(Union) who was able to seat a group of 10 within an hours notice, serve my cake, and did not even require a food purchase from our party, just drinks. The one positive attempt that was made to remedy this situation was when the manager sent over a group of free girl scout shots to our table. Unfortunately, because of the taste, half of our group wasn’t even able to finish the shot. Needless, to say, I will not be back here or be recommending this establishment for parties anymore.

Food — very good, but overpriced. Billboards — yuck. Ambience — excellent. People watching — suburb Happy Hour — Excellent. Happy hour is really the way to go here, because you get good food at a good price, while you still get the people watching and ambience. One of the the better happy hour food choices in Mpls. I even take my kids here for happy hour and belly up to the bar.

One of my FAV places for happy hour. They’re chicken tacos are only $ 2 each and so delicious. They have a drink called the Hot Tub that is only $ 6 on happy hour. Not only is it delicious but they place a bar of dry ice in it that gives the steam illusion of a hot tub. Definitely my go to for happy hour, but be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend. This is definitely a happy hour hot spot.

Pretty happening place on a Wednesday at 7:45pm. Went in with a bunch of friends and we got seated right away. I ordered the Jor-Jorita. Awesome drink, but kinda spendy at $ 12. For food I got the carnita tacos, they had a deal for 3 for $ 10 and they were awesome and super filling. I would totally get them again. I also got the Mexican 3-way margarita. It had 3 whole shots of 1800 tequila in it. A really strong drink, and super salty. Not my favorite drink I’ve ever had and again, super expensive. All in all, the place is super cool and the food is great. It’s always a good time and the drinks are strong. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because our service wasn’t the greatest and the last time I was here for just drinks, it wasn’t that good either. I’m starting to notice a pattern.

I was here for a friend’s birthday party on a Saturday evening and this place was jam packed. We’d reservations so we were fine. The servers went over the menu with us and answered our questions about the drinks and appetizers. I ordered chicken tinga tacos and they were hands-down the best I’ve ever had! The jor-jito cocktail was great and had great flavors of blueberry. I ordered a bigger dish of Kung pao chicken and was told that it’ll be a huge plate so I decided to share it with another person. But when the food arrived, I was slightly disappointed by the quantity. It’s a good portion size but not as much that you could share half with another person. Kung pao chicken tasted good just like the one I’ve tried at other places. They made us wait for 50 minutes to bring our checks, after everyone had finished eating and some people had even left from the group. After bringing the check, they took about 15 minutes to take our card and bring it back. This long wait really left me disappointed. My experience started really well but it died out toward the end.

This has got to be one of my favorite places to go celebrate birthdays(in uptown). If you make reservations for your birthday, they will put a «happy birthday NAME» on everyone menu for your table. Kind of cool. No free bread or chip appetizers or free dessert here. Drinks are kind of pricey so just order one and celebrate around uptown’s many bars. Try their tacos! The carnitas are delicious and everything is pretty nice to share with others. The fried rice came out super hot and you could mix the sunny side up egg into it. Dessert: fried ice cream is okay. At this point, I was just super full to enjoy it. Service: it’s just okay. I have been here many times but this time was probably the worst. Our waitress took forever to even order is drinks just sitting down for 10 minutes. Some people started ordering food but she didn’t make her way around the table to check if anyone else was ready. It was kind of like Spain where you have to wave for your servers attention to even get the check. I would come back here again but fingers crossed its another waitress. Recommend? Yes

I have only been here once, but it was very memorable. I was invited to a birthday at Chino Latino, and we all had such a fun time! Here’s my breakdown of my experience there: Food: 5⁄5 There are SO many different options, and I love the twist they put on a variety of cultural dishes. We were all able to make a bunch of tacos to share, and the birthday boy got a pineapple with a sparkler for his birthday, so that was a lot of fun to see! He loved it! Ambiance: 3.5÷5 Chino Latino has a very modern feel to it. It is both fun and classy, and everyone seems to come dressed to the nines. The music is VERY loud, they keep the lighting DARK and being that this place was PACKED when we went, we had to scream into each other’s ears to have any type of conversation. If you’re into a noisy and vibrant atmosphere, this is the place for you. Service: 3⁄5 Their service is average. I loved the waiter’s/waitresses t-shirts they had for their uniform, but they’re service wasn’t impressive. They did not promptly refill waters, and seemed to be running around most of the time, so it was clear that the crowd kept them a little too busy. Note: Chino Latino is in the middle of Uptown, so finding parking can be a pain, especially on the weekends. Plan ahead or take an Über since the chances of finding street parking can be slim.

I was pretty excited to try this place, but all in all, I was not completely impressed. We ordered the amount of food our waitress recommended, but the table was far too small to accommodate the food so we felt we had to rush through things so stuff could get cleared away. The biggest reason that I didn’t give it more stars was the slow service, the cramped environment and the fact that it was really hard to find a menu online before-hand(the website is a little wonky). The food itself was tasty. My favorite, by far, was the Bulgogi Lettuce Cup. The Swingers Party Platter was also delicious and a fun way to experiment with a few different flavors. If you do go, I would recommend either of these dishes. The drinks were quite pricey and honestly, nothing exceptional. I probably wouldn’t pay for another $ 12 drink there. This place can be hit or miss. The food was great but the rest left me underwhelmed for the price. I would eat there again, but I am in no rush.

This place is kind of overrated. It’s a unique menu with fusion of a lot of favorite palates, and served with flarr, but the food is only average in my opinion. Just because you serve food with a cauldron of fire or in a pineapple doesn’t make it taste good, it’s just looks really cool. Plus it’s all a bit overpriced. It’s usually crowded, so reservations are a must. The bar is the best part with fairly priced drinks and they have a few signature drinks that are really good. I give this place an average score. Not super impressed, but not disappointed either.

What a fun place! It’s like a nightclub that serves awesome food! It’s Asian/Mexican cuisine, and what I liked about this place is that they kept the cuisine separate and not try to mix the two together to create a new dish. Like a Phở Burrito, or Fried Rice Taco. Our group ordered quite a few stuff. We ordered That Ho, Chi Minh’s Fried Rice. That Ho was good! Do not get the Pad Thai(Phuket Noodle) if you have had Pad Thai before because these were VERY salty. My best friend said it’s been like this for over a year, so either the people like this dish really salty or the chef doesn’t care to change his recipe lol. You’ve been warned! We also got the Seafood Paella — the rice was a bit mushy but the flavor was very good! Molcajete — this one was pretty awesome. It came out in a big volcano rock bowl filled with meat then you can proceed to pick and choose and make your own tacos. Oh and we ordered a bunch of Pork Belly Steam Buns! Each order comes with 4 I believe. We had several orders! And another big hit were the beef empanadas! Omg SO yummy! I can’t wait to come back here the next time I’m in MN! Cheers! By the way, the drinks were awesome! Service was good. Oh! And this place is fancy schamacy because it’s got sparkly glitter/décor adorning the exterior of the restaurant!

I love EVERYTHING about this place, besides the fact that they have choco tacos here that you can buy at the store. Everything I’ve tried here has been amazing, the food here NEVER disappoints me. Everything on their menu is just SO good. From the drinks, to the food, to the fortune cookies. I LOVE that they give you hot warm towels after you’ve finished so that you don’t have to make that trip to the bathroom to wash your hands. They have hangers to hang our purses and bags. They have animals hanging with your drinks. This is one of my favorite places to eat, if you haven’t been here, you need to get your butt off Unilocal and go. Food here is perfection.

This weekend we decided to celebrate our one year of being married with a big dinner at Chino Latino. We were seated immediately and they had a lovely spot outside! Our waitress was energetic and knowledgable. We’ve been to Chinos many times before and the service is almost always superb. We ordered: Chicken Tinga Tacos — these are awesome! Flavorful and generous portions. The price was a tad high for tacos. Phoenix Claws(spicy chicken feet) — my husband loves them! Kung Pao Chicken Thit Bo Kho — mediocre, the portion was small for just a few slices of in bone meat and rice that was NOT jasmine rice! It tasted like sushi rice! I don’t recommend this dish. Overall it was a great meal to celebrate! The only con would be pricing it’s quite overrated. Lots of global varieties in their menu!
