I love this Davanni’s location! The staff is so nice, and service is quick! This is my Thursday lunch time treat to myself. I usually get a pizza slice, but occasionally get a hoagie or mini pizza; and it is always great!

Never disappointed. During my last visit, I ordered the solo pizza which is always an easy quick meal for lunch. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni with x-cheese and this did not disappoint and the solo was ready on time. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

Always impressed with their in store service. Just had delivery today and it was extremely fast(35 minutes for a deep dish) and the delivery guys was very nice. The food is consistently good too.

My office ordered from here as a treat. We were informed we would be charged DOUBLE the delivery fee because we are located 1.2 miles from the restaurant– I know. But my officemates wanted it, so we all agreed. The food arrived cold and soggy. When we contacted the restaurant to explain our disappointment and we were directed to an online«contact us» page which we filled out and submitted. I have yet to hear anything; the whole experience was very disappointing.

HOAGIES!!! There is something about how a Davanni’s hoagie comes together. Might be the bread, might be the meat. My wife thinks it’s the lettuce! Our family’s favorite sandwich shop!

I had a Three Cheese Calzone with Sausage and it was just OK. The dough was fairly thin after baking, leaving the interior mostly hollow. I expected the dough to be chewier and more substantial. If I were to go back, I’d try a hoagie.

Barely edible pizza. The only positive was the ‘digital’ pop machine with 200+ flavors. Would not eat here for free.

Just really mediocre food. Davanni’s gives you just about what you’d expect from a chain. I suspect there isn’t an Italian anywhere in the business. If there is, shame on you.

Davanni’s, how I miss thee. Your hot hoagies are my favorite. I ate so many of you over the years, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss you. The pizza is also pretty good, and so are the calzones, but I always went for the hoagies… and the breadsticks. The graffiti at the tables in the Uptown location is awesome.

I haven’t been here in years and I remember absolutely loving them when I was in high school and college. Can’t say that the puppy love phase has continued into my late twenties. My friend suggested it for dinner and I was excited to return. The excitement ended when I bit into my chicken breast hoagie. I remember them having whole chicken breast back in the day. This was sliced. They also used to have a strong sauce that drenched the sandwiches. There were hardly any toppings anymore and the bread was dry. They are better than Subway, but they aren’t as good as they used to be. I probably won’t be back.

Disclaimer: this review has nothing to do with the food. Note to management: The kids that worked the closing shift on Thursday April 5th are racist cowards. Train your employees to refrain from spewing unprovoked racist comments over the outdoor pa system. If it weren’t for my level-headed friends, I would have kicked through the locked door they hid behind.

Oh. My. Stopped here just to try it out. When approaching the building, the amazing aroma formed a force field that pulled me through the door. Before I knew it, I was filling up my soda and had no recollection of which sandwich I had chosen. I was sure that whatever it was, I had probably chosen wrong and should have selected pizza. After a few minutes of waiting, I heard my name called and ran to the counter. «here is your chicken Parmesan sandwich, keep being awesome,» he says. So, I run to my car trying not get too distracted by the unbelievable smell coming out of my little white box. The sandwich. Oh my god that sandwich was great. It was warm, had tons of delicious marinara sauce and the parmesan was broiled to crispy, cheesy perfection. I was taking a drinks of my diet coke in attempt to cleanse my palate and recreate that first bite. At this moment, I was sure that I had made the right decision. This was the best. sandwich. ever. After I got done licking the last bit of sauce off my hands, I went directly to the gym and had no qualms about running a couple extra miles for the experience. It was a beautiful thing and I can’t wait to experience again.

I will start by saying that for a chain this is pretty good pizza, but however it is still a chain. We ordered a half pepperoni and sausage and half plain medium pizza. It arrived fast and hot. The sausage was really good and I did enjoy it. However, I found the crust to be too soft and too thick. We ordered«traditional» pizza but it tasted more like deep dish to me. I also would have enjoyed it more had there been more sauce on the pizza and not so as much cheese. I found the cheese to be quite thick and made my stomach hurt afterwards. If you find yourself in the Minnesota area craving pizza, I’d probably wait till you get home to NYC. However if you like Papa Johns and Dominoes give this chain a go as it is only found in MN.

I was introduced to Davanni’s by some college friends who were from the Minneapolis area. After my first visit, I was begging to go home with them for the holidays, instead of my home town, which has NOTHING like Davanni’s. My favorites are the club hoagie on wheat bread and the white pizza. Their prices are reasonable, their ingredients are so fresh, and their service is top notch. I recently did some research on Davanni’s and I came to find that they do a lot of catering for parties and events. They even have their own bakery(they can make your next birthday cake!) and have a special recipe for a 15-layer lasagna. I have yet to try these things, but thought these were unique facts that would be appreciated! I work in guest relations, and while I’ve never worked in the restaurant business, I am sure it is not an easy industry to always remain friendly and chipper in. However, every time I have been to Davanni’s(and I have been to numerous locations) the staff has been hospitable and very kind. They must have wonderful owners because everyone who works there seems to LOVE their job! Overall, Davanni’s is a great establishment with wonderful service. I would love for them to go national with their business, but understand the comfort of that hometown feel.

Stopped in on a Monday night for a slice and ended up getting the«Solo» — pepperoni and mushroom. Very good pizza, much better than than premade«slice» places because they made my pizza fresh. Two toppings made to order, four small slices, all for about 5 bucks. I will definately be back. Much better than Little Casear’s for the money.

I LOVEDAVANNIS — *especially for their Deep Dish Pizza. I really can’t say much else about that. It’s simply AMAZING. I have had Deep Dish at every place I can try, and Davannis is among the best anywhere. I moved from MN and every time I go up there, I ALWAYS stop at Davannis for a deep dish pizza. If you haven’t eaten there… GO… NOW

A review of the chain: Best Chicago style deep dish pizza I’ve ever had… better than ones in Chicago although in reality it’s a little bit of a misnomer to call it deep dish. There is far less cheese than the the real deal(Lou’s or Giordano’s) but if you like a good crust, this will make you happy. The crust is crunchy and has a lot of flavor. It is a little on the greasy side, but whatever. Their tomato sauce is the best of all deep dish pizzas. The price is roughly similar to the ones in Chicago so no complaint.

Living in Uptown, I have access to a lot of pizza places. Davanni’s is the one I end up going to constantly. Why? Consistent product, fresh ingredients and good value. Plus I can pick it up at the store, or pay a couple extra bucks to have it delivered. Service is friendly & efficient. Both their Pizza and Hoagies are somewhat basic(sorry, no goat cheese or Yak meat), but well executed and taste great the next day after being in the fridge overnight(ever try to re-heat a Dominos/Pizza Hut = GROSS!). They’ve also expanded the menu to include things like salads as well. One tip: If you go to their website( ) and sign up for the Davanni’s Insider newsletter, they will send you an email about once a month highlighting news, new menu options and exclusive coupons for various items. Sometimes they ask you to fill out a short, hassle-free survey, but they really do listen to their customer input & take it into account, which I appreciate. Overall, it’s a good local sub/hoagie chain, and I’m happy to give them by biz. Screw the National Chains, eat local.

I should avoid reviewing chains, but Davanni’s is too good to pass up reviewing. They definitely have the best hoagies I’ve ever eaten, hands down. This place is great for a quick lunch, since it’s two blocks away from my campus. Everything is always really fresh, too! The pizza isn’t unique really, but it’s quite good anyways. I tend to go for the hoagies more often than the pizza. The food is always ready within 5 minutes, even when it’s somewhat bustling. Overall, Davanni’s is a great place to come for a quick bite, especially if you’re looking for an exceptionally good hoagie.
