This place probably has some great options, but as someone from out of town it is very confusing. You go in and have to order your sandwich(or whatever you are getting, wrap, burger, or salad). Then you pick it up at another spot, then you have to get your own beverage or whatever from an area that is somewhat reminiscent of a checkout lane at walmart, but bigger and more confusing… but it isn’t really clearly part of the checkout lane. The checkout lane isn’t a lane, but actually a two sided counter area close to the entrance, and quite a ways from where you order. There are no signs, and it is very confusing if you’ve never been there. Then, the food wasn’t that great and the fruit I got with my wrap was pretty close to bad. I’m sure I could go back and have a much better experience, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do a little quality control and put up some signs for people like me who haven’t already been there.

Definitely a go to for breakfast or lunch. I head here once a week to grab a wrap-best in the skyway. Flavorful options and I have never had something I didn’t like from here. The only bad part about Daves is they may or may not put crack in the peanut butter rice crispies?! Super addicting.

I didn’t realize it from skimming Unilocal and Google, but this place is less of a restaurant and more of a cafeteria. We had breakfast there, and the food was fine, nothing special. The prices were good, and that’s what brought us over.

UPDATE: At first I was going to trash my review that I wrote yesterday because the experience I had today was NOTHING compared to what I had written below. So here’s how it went today. I work for a company in the building and we had lunch catered. I was enjoying a beautiful salad combo. I believe one was a cobb and the other was a berry salad and both were extremely fresh and delicious. I asked our admin where we got the food from and you know what she said? DAVE’S DOWNTOWN. My entire office LOVES this place and I realized right then and there that I needed to jump on the bandwagon. Not only are their catering staff friendly and accommodation, the food I had today was delicious! I encourage you to try their salads and if you can get them for catering, their sandwiches and salads are really good. After lunch I topped off everything with a giant rice krispy treat. Additionally, Dave himself sent me a message about my review below and I really appreciated ow much he cared about his products and the quality of his menu. I really enjoyed my second experience here and I will definitely be back! 6.24.15 It was OK. The salad I got had really brown lettuce at the bottom that was super old, so I questioned the freshness. The chicken fingers were delicious and so was the honey mustard dressing. I also had the taco salad in the giant edible taco bowl and that was good! It can get REALLY crowded during lunch because it’s so convenient within the 9002nd ave building but worth it if you need something fast.

Dave’s Downtown is great. Huge selection of food. I mainly hit the grill end when I’m there. I’m not a huge tuna fan but every once in a while a tuna melt just sounds like it’s gonna hit the spot, and it does. I’m no health nut so I order extra cheese on it and love that they don’t charge any extra. What I get is a delicious cheesy tuna mess, and that’s just how I like it. Sometimes I just get a plain grilled cheese(which I had always said I would never order in a restaurant) and again they are more than willing to put extra cheese on it for me. One of my mottos is you can never have too much cheese and Dave must agree with me. They also have really good cookies. I like the M&M ones, especially when I have time to look through them and find one that’s kind of gooey in the middle. Like I said, this isn’t health food but it sure is delicious! It’s always super busy during the lunch hour, and I’m guessing you’d have to get there before noon to get a table. I always took mine to go. Even though it’s to order they are quick and efficient, unlike some other places in the skyway system they seem to realize that most of their customers are on at least somewhat of a time crunch, and it never seems to be a problem.

Dave’s is packed at lunch for a reason: it’s reliably delicious. I’m pretty sure their homemade beef barley soup got me through those sub-zero days. That and the oatmeal butterscotch chip cookie, which is what every oatmeal cookie should aspire to be.

I got the Thursday special thanksgiving sandwich. It was great and so much food. I only wish my office is closer to Dave’s in the skyway!

I was a bit confused for a moment by the multiple lines to order, but after figuring out I wanted the feature, it was easy to order. I had a pulled beef enchilada that came with all the fixings. For $ 8 it was a huge amount of food! When I’m back in Minneapolis, I’ll be stopping back!

Dave’s Downtown is my go-to place for lunch. Consistency is the reason. The people who work there are friendly, they get the food out quickly without rushing and the food is consistently tasty. No complaints!

The office I worked at several years ago in Richfield had a cafeteria that served made-to-order breakfast, sandwiches, and wraps(among other things). I recall loving it because it was consistently good, no matter what I ordered. And sometimes I just want a Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap and fries, which seems like a simple thing but is yet hard to find elsewhere. Shortly after taking a job downtown a coworker held our monthly team lunch at Dave’s, and I knew right away I’d found my downtown replacement for that cafeteria, and then some. The food is not going to win any culinary awards and foodies may scoff at it, but I find it delicious and clutch when I have a craving for a satisfying lunch meal. You can get basically any kind of wrap, sandwich, or burger.(There is also a salad bar, if that’s your thing). My personal favorites at Dave’s are the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap and the Mushroom Swiss Chicken, both with fries(which are hot, crispy, and very tasty). The service is quick and friendly. It’s a longer walk from my office to Dave’s than a lot of other places, but the experience is so pleasant and hassle free that it’s worth it(and the longer walk is good considering Dave’s generous portion sizes). Double high five, Dave’s Downtown!

Dave’s downtown — consistently good, decent prices and friendly staff. Working in the same building, I have a bit of a bias as Dave’s is a quick option with good food. Granted, if you are looking for something that is creative or tickles your taste-buds, this is probably not the place. That said, for a quick lunch you can’t go wrong. Everything is always hot, has good flavor and seems to be made with fresh ingredients. Have done breakfast here a couple times and found they have both good breakfast sandwiches and make a perfect, sunny-side up egg. If you need an afternoon treat, nothing beats a warm, M&M cookie from Dave’s! Overall, I would recommend Dave’s to downtown workers. Probably not the place you go out of your way to eat at but a restaurant where you never go wrong.

This is the place to go for a quick, easy, high quality, great value breakfast in downtown. I’ve eaten breakfast there at least 100 times and they have been one of the most consistent venues I’ve ever been to — which is important to me in the morning before work. Never had the lunch, couldn’t recommend the breakfast more highly. Go there.

Lots of high quality food for a reasonable price. The large amount of people here at 11:45 on Friday tells me that I am not the only one who realizes how good the food is. I had the honey mustard chicken sandwich on an onion bun and really enjoyed my meal. They give you a large whole chicken breast with a soft fresh bun, your choice of toppings and a ton of perfectly cooked fries for only about $ 8. I wil be going here again.

A little overwhelming for first timers during the lunch rush, but ultimately satisfying. There are separate lines for each type of item so make sure you’re in the right one(I waited in the grill line for a minute or so before I realised). It also helps to look online ahead of time and decide what you want so you’re not holding up all the hungry office workers behind you. For just over $ 8 after tax, I got a huge chicken Ceasar stuffed wrap and in-house potato chips. The chips weren’t over-salted and the wrap had fresh, seasoned chicken, crispy Romaine lettuce, croutons, and dressing. Very tasty!

Dave should keep doing what he’s doing– dependable lunch fare in the skyways. Dude’s not doing organic. Bro’s not into fusion. This place is boring sandwiches, wraps, basic salads– and I’m okay with that. They have a wrap with chicken tenders in it that I should stay away from(both for health reasons and because chicken tenders should graduate with you in the sixth grade) — but damn, it’s good. Add in a side of their crispy kettle chips and I’m a happy camper. Also probably dozing off at my cubicle with a food baby around 1:30, because you definitely get a bang for your buck and of course I eat it all. The best part about this place is the service. I don’t know if the employees are really that hyped to be making me a wrap, but sometimes I just want to leave the cash register with a fist pump of excitement they’re so happy. Woo!

Dave’s food rocks. I’ve only been twice but the burgers are top notch and the chicken sandwiches are great too. But go hungry, this isn’t Subway. The burgers are pretty big with a generous helping of fries, which is why the price is higher than My Burger. Everything is prepared to order but the wait isn’t long. The staff is incredibly friendly.

So… the line here at lunch is certainly a bit of a clusterfuck, but I like it here. I often visit my company’s Minneapolis office and I always enjoy my lunchtime excursion to Dave’s. Wraps, salads, sandwiches, desserts… it’s all here. Basic, straightforward lunch food that’ll keep your belly full for the afternoon. I like the chicken finger wrap in a whole wheat tortilla with honey mustard sauce. It’s enormous, but there’s lots of lettuce and tomato in this wrap, so it’s bulky, but not overwhelming. I like that I can get fruit instead of chips, but if you’re feeling naughy, get the chips. They’re really, really good. Desserts are where it’s really at, though. My absolute weakness are those peanut butter rice krispie treats with chocolate on top and Dave’s version is delicious. Lunch win.

I stopped here for lunch with my team from work. I had heard of this place, but had no idea it was in the AT&T building in downtown Minneapolis(in the skyway). The options are plentiful on the menu and it actually made deciding what to eat a little challenging. I ended up getting the grilled special for the day, which was a chicken sandwich with melted cheese and bacon(I forget the actual name of the sandwich), it came with fries and I grabbed a Vitamin water to drink. Walked away for under $ 10, which isn’t bad for lunch in downtown Minneapolis. The sandwich wasn’t bad and it wasn’t amazing either. The chicken was cooked well, but didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. The bacon helped a little, but I wasn’t overly impressed with what I got. The fries were good, which I think would be hard to screw up anyways. A coworker got an Asian inspired salad which she mentioned was great and someone else got a wrap. Maybe I’ll try those instead the next time I visit. Overall, good place to grab a quick lunch. I gave 3 stars because of my personal experience with what I ordered; I’ll have to give it a second chance.
