This place was surprisingly good! I was skeptical at first, because the restaurant name was Pickle Park.(Who names a restaurant that???) My Dad bought me a groupon and my boyfriend and I went together. He got some specialty burger and I got a mushroom swiss burger. Food: We had these things called Guitar Strings which are like onion rings, but fries. I don’t really like onion rings because the batter always falls off the onion so you’re left with an onion dangling from your mouth and breading in your hand, but these are divine. They’re small onion slices in batter, and they’re so tasty. My boyfriend got them instead of fries and I ate almost all of them, and I only feel a little bad. Next time I’ll get my own order. I feel like if you were to eat too many, you might get a stomach ache though. My burger was super good. I spent so much time eating Guitar Strings and my own fries that I actually took it home and brought it to work to eat. Even though it was a day old, and reheated, it tasted sooo good. I bet it tastes even better fresh. Staff: Polite and quick, but when we went there it was pretty dead, so… Atmosphere: it’s a little dark in there, but it’s a bar/grill so that’s sorta normal. They have a lot of quirky decorations inside. They also have a stage where it looks like they have live music. A lot of sports are on TV if you like to watch sports. It was pretty clean, I didn’t notice anything gross sticking out. I like this place, I’d like to go again!

Don’t give these people your money. They discriminate against foreigners and give you a hard time if you don’t have Minnesota ID. Not everyone is from Minnesota. Won’t let you open a tab at the bar. Have to pay one drink at a time. There are too many other good places to go in the Cities

This place was awkward. Maybe it was because it was open mic night but I felt like I was in the twilight zone. The music went from 90’s alternative to heavy rap… to even more terrible rap. Then 5 guys went on stage and did a rap number that was so thuggish in lyrical value it made me feel uncomfortable in a hilarious way. It was just awkward watching a train wreck of musicians. Just shocked… hilariously shocked that this was even happening. Drinks are cheap that’s one thing I can say for sure, but you’re in Fridley so what do you expect. Service was excellent and the waitress empathized with us regarding the terrible acts that evening. I only tried their wings with bone and without. Yuck! A new wing recipe is in order and they need to be deep fried for a shorter time. Both types came out hard and the chicken skin flaky as if they were fried and then refried, or fried for too long. I want this place to succeed, I really do but the food an entertainment really was sub par.

Went here for my mom’s birthday party and this place was mediocre… I had low expectations for the food and they managed to disappoint. I ordered spin dip(which they served with bread that appeared to be slathered in Kraft powdered parm cheese, yuck) and fries that came out cold and mushy. I also tried some of my mom and brothers chicken wings and both were disappointing at best. The place was embarrassingly empty at 9 on a Friday night and the crowd seemed homely. When they realized that it was after 930 and my brother & I are underage, they promptly kicked us out even though we hadn’t tried to drink and were there for a birthday. We however did get to stay for some of their band, and I was not impressed

Went here for a couple beers and to watch a band. Venue was good for music. $ 7 cover seemed fair. The place needs some updating but overall service was good and we got what we paid for.

Well, I went for the first time to ladies night, which is something I truly needed. The girls were super drunk. Like. In your face drunk, and im not that kind of girl, I just like to sip my drink and have some fun! Girls were begging to go in front of others in the bathroom which was okay, I understand but WHOBREAKS A TOILETSEAT?! Like completely rips it and doesn’t even have water flowing anywhere? Guys were respectful there at least. The photo booth was out of order, boooo. The bar tending chicks werent talkative at all nor had a smile on their face, but thats okay my drinks were so so yummy. I dont smoke but I went outside and was happy to have a warm light over me. The music kinda sucked but a few songs were old school and had us singing to it while tipsy. It was fun over all but they crazy girls have got to go lol. I will go back there again, maybe it will be a little better and toilet in tact!

Great venue for live music. I didn’t really try anything else here, I only came for the music. If you want cheap, really great entertainment, this is a good place to go.

People Mistakingly questions the location of this establishment, saying it is in the middle of no where. It is, but it is able to draw and pull from its demographic of customers for thursdaysfrom surrounding cities at great success. Were talking Fridley, CR, Blaine, Spring Lake Park, Brooklyn Center and even Anoka. If you live anywhere in the Northern Suburbs this really is the ONLY spot to go on Thursdays. Went here on a thursday night with some friends not knowing what to expect. The crowd was definately representative of Life in the Northern Suburbs. It felt like we were smack dab in the middle of Spring Lake Park or Coon Rapids as we took a look at the people around us. Meth Heads made the short trek over from trailer parks along Central Avenue in Fridley, People collecting welfare checks walked across University from their Apartment Complex, Alcoholics came down from Blaine to Get their Lips wet, Skanky women from Coon Rapids were rampant, and I’m Sure some single moms from Spring Lake Park came to hunt for young men. Understanding our surroundings was a critical factor for us in taking in the Pickle Park Thursday night experience. As for the actual tangible experience… A DJ from KDWB was there spinning Discs. It seemed like the song selection was rather poor and rather old. I was hoping to here top 40 Dance songs, but kept hearing things like ICEICE Baby and other early 90’s jams. May have been a strategic Marketing Focus as to hone in on the late 30’s demo. -

Went here once while I was waiting for a haircut. I came back almost two weeks later and the bartenders remembered my name, what I drink and even suggested food based on my last order. THAT is why I am back for a third time. Food is pretty good for a food lover, but the staff is why I am here. Kudos to «bird» and«Terri». I also like the«family» atmosphere of the place. Not too many places you can just sit and chat it up with a stranger anymore.

I could really go either way on Pickle Park… the drinks are cheap to a point, the bartenders know how to pour a good drink… and from what I hear the food is pretty meh. But the weird location of this place, and the fact that they are continuously touting themselves as some kind of big deal(it’s like this business has an ego of it’s own). It can’t compete with any real venues, but if the drinks are cheap enough they will come. And that is sort of the mentality of the general clientelle here. They come here because they don’t have a car/license after their last DWI from leaving here. But it’s okay, they only live a few blocks away here in Fridley… I honestly was expecting to see a fight or something on my way out, but my night ended much the same way it began. Sober, and sort of bored.

Currently this is the best Thursday night party in the Northern burbs. The Thursday night drink specials(Ladies drink free from 9 – 12, 2 for 1 for the guys) brings in a fairly large crowd. Lucas from KDWB hosts the party and provides humorous comments throughout the night. The DJ is good but follows the standard DJ protocol found at most clubs. So you’ll get a mix of modern pop music, usually 2 line dances back to back, and the occasional songs from the 80’s and 90’s. Dance floor is always packed by midnight, thankfully the dance floor is plenty big. The bar tenders and waitresses work hard to keep the drinks flowing and the security keeps anything from getting out of control.

I bookmarked this place(forgot why) and its number came up. The place is setup up like a sports bar, but has a huge guitar mounted to the ceiling. Beer Limited selection of taps. Domestic with a lot of light beer options. They also have Summit EPA. I picked Grain Belt Nordeast. It was happy hour so a pint was $ 2.50. Appetizer Walleye fingers — 6 huge fingers(7−8″ long). We ate 4 of them and took the rest home — after all our burgers were coming. Meals Pepperjack Supreme burger — 3 slices of cheese and lots of jalapenos. The burger was med-well. Above average taste and texture to the burger. Bun was nice. Fries were skin on and seasoned — not bad. Pickle Park burger was also tasty with lots of cheese. My wife ordered veggies instead of fries. Raw carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower with a dip. Overall Not a bad place to top off a shopping trip to nearby Northtown mall. Portions are large so come hungry.

I liked this place. We had an early dinner on Saturday with the kids and this place wasn’t so busy. The deal of the day was $ 0.39 wings. We came to eat a full meal, so we ordered the wings last. It has been a long time since I ate wings and these were pretty good. I definitely want to come back and try their other flavors. For my main dish I ordered the Sticky Burger. This was a very good burger. It wasn’t sticky like the title suggests. The peanut butter was great and made for an excellent topping. The fries that came with the side were good as well. The kids meals were big. This is a nice change from other places that just don’t know how to serve kids. The kids ate most of their meal too. I guess we should expect a growth spurt out of them shortly.

A good place to see live music. They have a separate area for the live show and for the dining area. I have come here a few times to see the bands that I dont really know. The sound system is good. The crowd though is different kind of crowd that I would normally see. The dining area is actually quite nice with several big comfy booths. The food is decent but not that great.

When I think of Pickle Park, Samuel Jackson comes to mind. Please allow me to explain. Pulp Fiction. Samuel Jackson, or «Jules,» is taking a break from shooting people when he goes into a series of questions about a man’s burger. When Jules tastes the burger, he says: «Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger. « On Monday nights, Pickle Park serves up a $ 5 burger(any burger off the menu) that even a Bible-quoting, gun-toting Pulp Fiction Samuel Jackson would approve. And that might just buy you 5 more minutes to keep your life while he finishes his dialogue, if you ever find yourself in that situation.

I stopped in with my fiancée one night for the hell of it, she ordered the fish fry and I got a BBQ platter. The Fish Fry was all you can eat, and I think they were just trying to push fish out the door. Her first plate had 5 – 6 pieces of fish, LARGE pieces. I tried a few bites, and YUCK. Fish was awful, the batter was bad, it just wasn’t good. She ate a piece of it that was it. My BBQ platter, wasn’t that good either. The horrible fish was more memorable, this was pretty plain, fatty meat. I dont know, I just wouldn’t get it again. Service was ok. A lot of TV’s for sports, few other tables around seemed to enjoy the wings. I guess I’d go back for drink’s and to watch a game, maybe try buffalo wings, but never a meal.

Not much has changed from when it was Main Event to it’s current incarnation as Pickle Park. Mostly it looks the same, though there is now a HUGE guitar on the ceiling over the bar, and some additional intelligent lighting was added. Thursdays are ladies night, and while there is a good drink special(ladies drink free, guys get 2 for 1 all night) it tends to be pretty empty in the place. I hear the live music on the weekends still draws a large crowd, but during the week activities leave much to be desired.
