This is a place for tea snobs who aren’t snobby. The quality of the tea is excellent and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere so even inexperienced tea drinkers can feel at home. You will not find it to be stuffy and priggish like Teavana nor are its drinks loaded with sugar and weird flavoring like Tea Garden. It’s just great tea that has been prepared properly.

Infinitea is nestled in a great location, on Hennepin, right in the heart of Uptown. In fact, as it is a mere half block from the Uptown Transit Station, I found myself passing it every single day on my way to and from work. Every day I would pass it and think to myself«I have to try that tea place… next time.» Every day it was the same«…next time.» Well one day I finally snapped out of that cycle and went into Infinitea. I could have kicked my past self… if I wasn’t so blissed out by all the tea. To think I had been missing out on this place! Well, rest assured, I made strident effort to make up for lost time. Infinitea is a tea house. Plain and simple. They boast a massive selection of loose teas, displayed in all their glory as an entire WALL of bulk tins behind the counter. They have a handy 3-ring binder with a full breakdown of their entire inventory, but handier still, they have a friendly and knowledgeable staff who will help you find the tea you already love, the tea you’re looking for and haven’t found, and the tea you never knew would be your favorite. Try a cup in the store, or get some leaves to brew in the comfort of your own home. They usually have samples of one of their teas out, too! Score! Bonus! The atmosphere is calm and low-key. A few small tables, some mismatched comfy furniture, and a shelf in the back corner with magazines and board games. Service can be a little pokey, but I welcome it as an excuse to slow myself down as well. Infinitea is the perfect place to bring yourself down a few notches and center yourself. Leave the swirling cloud of your problems and stresses at the door: you won’t need them here. They offer single servings(in varied sizes) and also pots of any of the loose teas in the house. There are few experiences that can compare with sharing a big pot of tea with friends, and on that score, Infinitea totally nails it.

Haven’t had the tea here yet, but I still feel the need to let people know how much I liked this place. It’s quiet, it’s bright, they have WiFi, tons of tea and they make homemade horchata. The staff is extremely knowledgeable… like one guy had studied traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for his thesis or something. Not even joking, we talked about it. Again, I didn’t buy any tea that day because horchata is a trump card for me, but the guy gave me a few samples of what he was testing out since I was the only one in the place at the time. Everything I tried was great, and my horchata was alright too, but I would definitely go for a tea party of one next time. I also read somewhere a while ago that they do some classes, so I hope that’s still going on.

Tea is the new way of saying, «Hey, I’m not a philistine; I drink tea!» This applies only to loose or bricked teas, however. That being said, I still have a soft spot for bagged teas particularly my yellow box of Liptons. Can’t beat that for making Hong Kong-style milk tea. Infinitea is not Starbuck, and it’s not Tea Garden. If you’re in a rush, need something sugary or require a bucket-sized cup to quench your thirst, you will be disappointed. When I first came here, I was pretty annoyed with the slowness and the price points. However, I have been slowly converted to being more patient and understanding. It’s evident that the people here really love tea and want to you to enjoy tea in its best forms.

Infinitea is a cool tea shop in Uptown that also offers some tasty vegan side snacks. I came here with a friend and we shared a number of things: a tea-infused apple cider($ 3.50); a tea-infused hot chocolate($ 3.25); a pot of an Indian black tea($ 4); and a vegan scone($ 2.50) and hummus with pita chips($ 4). The cider was great — hot and comforting on a cold winter day. It came in a large cup, too. The hot chocolate was really tasty(it was like a melted chocolate bar) but it was so small in size that I can’t justify ordering this drink again — it’s just not a good value for the price. With both drinks, you get to choose what type of tea you want to infuse into the drink, which is a great level of customization. The scone was solid(it comes from Isles Bun kiddy-corner) and I appreciated the freshness of the home-made hummus(our server made us an extra batch free of charge, too). On a whole, this is a great shop with nice foods, wonderful service and an excellent array of teas from around the world. If they had more seating(and more comfortable seating) and were somehow cozier, I’d be there all the time.

I love tea, and so naturally, i went to infinitea. The staff is well-disposed and very willing to help you find just want you want. I love the christmas lights that they just put up last week, it makes the whole place so warm and welcoming. The cast-iron kettles that they serve the tea in are exciting!

I went to school in Eau Claire, where Infinitea has its first and one other location, so I have a place in my heart for Infinitea. I was thrilled when I saw that they were opening a location in Uptown and I finally actually got around to going in once we needed some more tea. This location is very much like the one in Eau Claire, which is a good thing. Wonderful place to learn about tea and buy by the ounce or in bulk — the woman who helped us knew about the teas and was obviously in love with them, she brought down the teas she was suggesting so we could smell them and we saw her huffing some whiffs of her own! Tea addict. Who else would a person want to have assist them in picking out tea? Definitely a passionate and knowledgeable person like this! There is a big tea guide book where you can read about all the 200 varieties — don’t be scared they’re all numbered and organized really well. There are also little beaker things with the teas in them so you can look at them — I mean come on, that is great and fun! We didn’t hang around but the atmosphere was very nice and comfortable — Feist was playing, people were leisurely drinking pots-o-tea, surfing the web, reading, and relaxing. I saw on the website that they have live music and tea classes as well! Cool.

I love the bubble teas here! They are very very yummy and not too sweet. They are real tea and not just powder and sugar. The chai mate is very delicious!

I discovered this place completely by accident today and decided to stop in. I have to try any place boasting 200 teas. The great thing about this business is that for a couple bucks you can try a cup of anything in the store, regardless of its value. I took advantage and sampled an expensive tea, the Award Sencha, which was good. I wish my review ended there. I cannot give the place four or five stars because I happen to know that the prices Infinitea is charging for dry tea leaves(to take home) involve some considerable mark-up. I will grant them that they are a new business trying to get established. But economics is a cruel and unforgiving phenomenon. The fact is, if you compare to two other tea businesses I’ve reviewed and do the math, Infinitea is charging a lot more per ounce. The only plausible variable would be that Infinitea’s teas are of superior quality or grade across the board, which I find difficult to imagine(and unlikely given my good but not unbelievable samples.) I’m not nitpicking — it’s not even close. So all I’m saying is that if you’re going to buy premium tea in quantity, shop around locally, as well as on the web.(And not at that equally-overpriced store at the MOA and other places that is not to be named.)

Had no idea this was here. This place is great. The staff is super knowledgeable and it’s a great place to try out teas real cheap in a non-intimidating atmosphere. Comfy chairs. I hung with my ipad and surfed while drinking the iced yerba buena mate(?) I think I have to learn more about tea. This would be the place to do it!
