Stopped by with my husband on a trip through town. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, and made some good recommendations. We loved the cabbage rolls(good grief they are HUGE!) but our favorite by far was the Moroccan lamb sausage. It was so good! Juicy, with that sweet/spicy distinctive Moroccan flavor, I think it even had raisins in it-very authentic. We are still talking about it months later. Don’t miss, especially if you are a foodie.

This is the place to come for many different varieties of sausage in the Twin Cities. You will find many ethnic patrons as well. They have a gift shop, cold meat cases, cheese cases, a hot deli, dessert cold cases, and restaurant. I’ve never seen so many sausages from so many different regions as they have here. I only ended up ordering a link of cooked polish sausage, cannoli, and chocolate cream puff and Bavarian cream puff. The items I enjoyed most were the Bavarian and polish link.

Delicious! Fast, convenient and did I say delicious? I had always overlooked this place since it was in the shadow of Nyes. Now that Nyes is gone, this will be me go to for Bavarian and Polish delights! Get the combination platter if it’s your first time. It will provide you with a great sampling of their offerings.

Wow, this made up for driving to Obento-Ya and finding out they cancelled their Sunday brunch last minute. We were trying to get back to I-94 but road closure forced us to go further west into Minneapolis. After some quick thinking, we decided to make it to Kramarczuk’s for Sunday brunch. We must have gotten there right when it opened because people started filing in. We managed to grab a nice parking spot in front of the store which was super sweet too. Afterwards, I got a little bit of sausage and sauerkraut with a Belgium waffle slice and homemade strawberry jam. It was perfection to satisfy our cravings for both sweet and salty. I also loved those potato dumplings. The eggs benedict was good and glad it was not flooded with the sauce although my wife wished there was a little more sauce. Oh yeah, my wife had their famous lettuce wrap but it looked too much for me. Wow, I think we had just enough so that we were not totally full. Overall, the price was right too at $ 16.50 per person– just come hungry:) Plus, there is a side of cucumber salad and fruits to balance off the other food groups. My wife thought it would have been nice to have a garden salad as well. We both tried this cold yogurt oatmeal and it was okay. At least, it blended a lot of healthy ingredients like oats, nuts, and raisins. A bit different but something to try out too.

Fantastic meat selection. A little pricey but worth it for the quality and variety. Service was quick and efficient. I would go out of my way to visit again. They also have a dining room on the side if you want to eat in.

Wash your hands before eating and in between plates if you put your fingers in your mouth or become sticky. Do not eat until you get back to your table. Don’t play with your hair around buffets and keep your children AWAY from the food. If you can’t follow these simple points of etiquette, stay home you disgusting swine! If you’re into Eastern European flavors, you’ll find them here. Sometimes you may also find my husband and me here. Stop by and chat and I’ll share some stories with you.

The friendliest and most attentive service. The people care so much for their craft and are passionate about service. The food is incredible, sincerely. Great deli for grillables, again, wonderful people work here. If I ever have to move from the cities I will mourn the loss.

Loved the Sunday brunch. There were so many wonderful meat and sausage delicacies to sample and a hot assortment of brunch regulars. Don’t pass up the cabbage rolls(cover them with the creamy tomato sauce). So good. It is so great to see a place like this still thriving after so many years.

I have a love/hate relationship Guy Fieri; nevertheless I decided to come to Kramarczuk’s after seeing his feature on Diner’s, Drive-Bys, and Derps or whatever. Anyway, this place is a total sausagefest — if you love a good wiener, you’ll be in hog heaven. I ordered the cabbage rolls — a mixture of rice, beef, and pork stuffed inside of braised cabbage. I’m a sucker for sauerkraut, so I chose that for my side. You also get a choice of either a tomato/onion sauce or a tomato cream sauce. I had the tomato/onion, which was great, but I regretted my decision after I saw the cream sauce — will have to get that next time. The dish was perhaps a bit on the salty side, but overall I found it to be a very nice, unique plate of food. I will definitely be coming back to try the wide variety of cafeteria-style options they have. There’s also a deli attached to the restaurant with a whole boatload of wieners and other meat products, as well as cheese and dessert-type stuff. If you’re in the northeast neighborhood and want a unique ethnic dining experience, I highly recommend Kramarczuk’s.

Talk about sausage variety! If you are looking for some variation of polish/European sausages, you’ll likely find it here. Although there are plenty of people here to assist customers, they can get pretty backed up since most people have multiple requests per order. They also don’t always have someone manning the cashier’s station since everyone is helping people put together their orders. This place has been featured a couple times on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives apparently. Unlike a lot of other places where I’ve been left underwhelmed, this place is pretty impressive. From a recommendation of a customer that has been going to Kramarczuk’s since childhood, I got a long polish sausage(about 1.25′ long), a loaf of caraway bread(~10 good slices, 10 smaller slices, and sauerkraut(minced with corned beef in the mix). In total that cost about $ 16. A little pricey but for the quality it’s likely on point. I haven’t eaten the sausage yet but the sauerkraut is delicious, so well minced and flavored, and the caraway rye bread was perfect for the reuben I made that weekend. They also have other items, including jarred sauerkraut, other jams, German mustard, other types of breads, and desserts/pastries. They also have a café section where you can order sandwiches/food, sit down and enjoy. They have their own dedicated parking lot, which makes it more convenient to visit since the area can be hard to find parking at times. All in all, definitely going back for a visit and to dine in next time. Great location, good quality, good food.

Please forgive me, I saw this place reviewed on the Food Network. I was born in Little Falls 70 yrs ago, moved to Calif. at 12, now living in Seattle. This is my way of marking the spot and putting it on my bucket list !!! If anyone can recommend the best place for fried Northern Pike, I’d be most grateful ! — Best regards to all ! Scott

Kramarczuk’s Sausage Company has been stuffing casings since the late 1940’s. The facility is divided into two parts; a retail butcher shop/deli/bakery and a restaurant. As I entered the retail entrance, I was overwhelmed and felt like a kid in a candy store. Everything looked fantastic and I wanted it all! The enormous deli cases form a horseshoe pattern and as you enter the shop to your right are the baked goods which lead into fresh cuts of various steaks and chops, then you are faced with the enormous variety of sausages that they produce(lost count at 30!) and then there’s an almost equally huge selection of deli and cured meats. I stood there gobsmacked and trying to do the mental math of how to take several pounds of this meaty goodness back home to Seattle with me. After a few moments I settled myself down as the impracticality of leaving my personal belongings at my hotel and filling myself suitcase full of meat became clear to me. So, with a ravenous appetite I turned and went through the archway and into the restaurant. The restaurant is a cafeteria style of service. Generally, I’m not fan of of this type of setup, but then again I’ve never witnessed steam tables filled with such delectable delights. There’s no filler on this line, just the good stuff! Once again, a primal voice deep within me wanted everything. I wanted the meatballs, the goulash, the varenky — the Ukrainian version of pierogi, and the cabbage rolls. It all looked and smelled so good that it was hard to decide what to order. I ordered The Cossack. The Cossack sandwich has a smoked grilled Ukrainian sausage on a roll with sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and sauteed onions. It’s simple, direct and really highlights the flavor and texture of the sausage. Not surprisingly the sausage was truly excellent — you don’t stay in business for 70 years putting out mediocre product! In the end, to round out my meal, I opted for borscht. It was between that and the cabbage rolls, but, even as hungry as I was, I thought that the cabbage rolls would do me in and I would be in a food coma for the rest of the afternoon. The borscht was excellent and very meaty. I have to also say that Kramarczuk’s has one of the better condiment stations that I’ve seen; sour cream, 3 or 4 different types of pickles, 5 or 6 different types of mustard, onions and curry ketchup. All the necessities to round out your meal! Now you ave an inkling of why this Minneapolis institution has made such a deep and abiding impression on me and why suddenly my mind wanders and I dream of sausages…

Visiting from Seattle and had the pleasure of having lunch here. It was amazing. If you have European heritage then you must stop in. We bought some of their sweets to take home but it was the café lunch that had my friends and I hooked. The borscht soup, red cabbage and meatballs are a culinary delight! The staff was very helpful and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Thank you Minnesota for this hidden gem.

I absolutely love this place. It’s one of the few good deli’s in Minneapolis that makes authentic German/Scandinavian sausage, meats and pastries. They have a great selection of weisswurst, a million types of bratwurst, knockwurst, bockwurst, liverwurst and blutwurst. They also make several types of Speck, the German Prosciutto. When I first moved out here from Berkeley I was really trying to fill the void left by a total absence of great historic places like Top Dog on Telegraph avenue, who regularly donates to the homeless population, and Saag’s from San Francisco. This place was the closest I could find, which is bizarre considering the Scandinavian population here. Perhaps what I thought was good authentic sausage was something else. Anyway, this place has some awesome pastries too. They make a mean napoleon. Give them a try… you deserve their wurst!

This might actually be heaven. Everything is delicious: the take home meats are top notch, the pastries are to die for, and the deli sandwiches are made on fresh baked bread. Pro tip: have a friend bring a wheelbarrow, cause you’ll need it to cart you home after you eat everything in this joint.

HOLY S A U S A G E F A C T O R Y !! What a wonderful deli!!! Fresh cuts of meats, homemade sausages of innumerable types, and outstanding service. Sausage sausage everywhere, in the display case too :-) The bread that is available is VERY old school, and if you only want a half loaf they can make that happen. Customer service all the way baby. As it should be. Then, through the magic door, you are transported to an aromatic cafeteria with the most traditional Eastern European fare around the Twin Cities, Real«home cookin«. These comfort foods are just like what my Romanian gramma made for Sunday dinners. I halfway expect her to peek out from behind the kitchen door. The only item that isn’t like hers is the apple strudel. I have yet to find any restaurant or bakery that makes it like the Romanian ladies did at my church. I wish that I had paid more attention when they made mass quantities of it for church dinners. Unbeatable! I try to make it here a couple times a year, and stock up on ethnic goodies. I love it. I am Polish, but didn’t grow up with much Polish food. This place is great! The food was delicious and you got a really good amount for the money. We had the cabbage rolls, the Friday special, and some desserts, including the custard. SOGOOD! My mom said Polish people aren’t known for their good food but even she loved it! Charming place and friendly staff. Would TOTALLY eat here again!

Simply the best. I discovered Kramarczuk’s back in 2012 when I was briefly living in the Twin Cities for work. Located in a traditionally Eastern European neighborhood just across the river from Downtown Minneapolis, the place is an institution that has been in operation for over fifty years. I’d come here at least once or twice a week for lunch and ate some of the best sausages and sandwiches of my life. This past weekend, I returned for my first visit since leaving Minnesota three years ago and the food was as good as ever. While they’re best known for their sausages, my go-to is their pastrami sandwich. At $ 11.99, it’s a bit pricey(especially for Minneapolis) but it’s worth every penny. You also can’t go wrong with any of their sausage sandwiches, all of which go great with their generous selection of German and Eastern European beers. Adjacent to the restaurant is an amazing deli that has an endless selection of sausages, cheeses, and pastries. They also ship so you can enjoy Kramarczuk’s from anywhere in the country! :)

Was taken here with an amazing soul that had been here once before. I couldn’t resist trying almost everything(not even close) Amazing, Friendly service. Looks like a 10 minute wait is normal around dinner, but that is always a good sign Amazing international brew and pop selection. On Ice :) I loved my anadouli sandwich. Kramarczuk’s is your traditional cafeteria style deli. We came here pretty late on a weekend and there was nobody in the restaurant except us. I absolutely love Polish food and had an extremely hard time picking what I wanted. I settled on the piergois with horseradish sour cream, which is my usual go-to. They were very tasty. My dad got the cabbage roll, which he also enjoyed. Had we not been completely stuffed, we would have gotten dessert. I would recommend coming here if Polish food is something you love or haven’t tried!

Two words: Eat Here! Why anyone would give this place less than 5 stars is beyond me. Every time I’m in Minneapolis this is a must stop. As was described in other posts, this place has both an Eastern European deli as well as a restaurant that serves food cafeteria style. Both are fantastic. First, check out everything that they have at the deli. A vast majority(if not all) of the meats are smoked/cured in house. Speaking from the perspective of a tourist, it is difficult to take a kielbasa to the hotel for cooking, so we stuck with the jerky and beer sticks. Both are incredible. I enjoyed the spicy beer sticks the best, but they are definitely spicy. We have sampled a few of the baked goods, and what we have purchased are good, but if you are looking for carbs, grab a hot pretzel with mustard. You can thank me later. As for the restaurant, it is hard to go wrong. We’ve pretty much tried everything from on menu and our favorites are the heated German potato salad, the polish sausage sandwich, the borscht, oh and their sour kraut is bomb. Prices are reasonable and they even have a few local craft beers on tap and in bottles/cans, as well as German and Eastern European varieties. In summary, go grab a bunch of good food and a beer in the cafeteria area, then proceed to the deli and order tons of animal products to go.

A wonderful find in St. Paul. From the minute that you walk in, you know that you have found something special! Delicious baked goods, a meat counter with a spectacular selection of smoked meats and deli meats, lovely ingredients and a restaurant café if you can’t wait to take it all home to prepare. We stayed for lunch, ordered a nice selection of dishes and stopped by the front of the shop to pick up items for tonight’s dinner. If I lived here, I would certainly be a regular. The selection is awesome and it’s priced just right!

Wide selection of Old Country foods… a bit daunting for those of us not well versed in the flavors of Europe. The folks behind the counter were very helpful and patient with us as we perused the menu. We settled on a large portion of the Polish and Sourkraut with the 8 Perohy split between the beef and the potato/cheese versions. Everything was very delicious and the horseradish and sour cream mix for dipping the Perohy was the kicker! The sausage and kraut was excellent… we’ll be back and expand our choices :)

Have you ever seen so much sausage? No matter what you’re looking for — German, Polish, Italian, you’re likely to find it at this very unique deli. It’s definitely worth a trip simply to stare in wonder and amazement at the unique meats set before you. If you’re looking for sausage, this is your go-to place. I haven’t yet eaten here, so cannot comment on the restaurant service or food.

Service was great but the desserts I ordered from the bakery were mediocre. I got a cream puff, which was 4 stars, and a chocolate covered tres leches cookie, which was terrible. I will definitely come back to get the meats, but I will have to skip the bakery, or try something else.

After two trips to Minneapolis, I think I have tried at least half of the menu at Kramarczuk’s. While not everything on the menu is 5-stars, most of it is, and the service and prices are incredible. One half of Kramarczuk’s is a shop where you can buy imported goods, homemade sausages, and Eastern European baked goods. My favorites in this section are the almond pastries, beersticks, and the soft pretzels with mustard. The pretzels are soft on the inside, with a golden, buttery crust. The mustard they serve them with is homemade and one of the best I’ve had. I believe the pretzels are only available on Fri/Sat. The other section of Kramarczuk’s is a restaurant. Everything is served cafeteria style. You go in, grab a tray, and get in line. There is a standard menu written overhead, and a few specials listed at the counter. If it is your first time, the combination platter is a fun choice. It comes with your choice of sausage, and I believe the Polish sausage is the best. If there are two of you, one combo platter and a couple of small side salads(~$ 2.50 each) will be more than enough. I recommend the German potato(warmed) and the Ukrainian salads. The meatball is also a fine selection. One meatball is $ 5.99 and is large enough to be an entrée(add $ 1 for noodles). If you are just looking for sausage, the sauerkraut and Polish sausage entrée($ 7.99) is a large plate of sauerkraut with two sausages sliced on top. A half portion is also available. Another option is the sausage sandwich — served on a house-made bun — which is equally delicious. If you aren’t in the mood for classic Eastern European fare, they also have American deli sandwiches, salads, and soups. The pulled pork sandwich is a good choice, as is the meaty chili. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the piroshky or the varenyky. The piroshky is available on Fri/Sat as a special. It looked delicious, but was pretty dry. I didn’t try the Reuben sandwich, but I saw one, and it didn’t look very tasty to me. I’d stick to the sausages or the pulled pork. If my word is not enough, the perpetual line at Kramarzuk’s should be proof of it’s quality. If you find yourself in the Twin Cities, add this to your list.

Kramarczuk’s(est. 1954) has been around ALMOST as long as Nye’s(est. 1950)! And while, Nye’s is sadly going out of business soon, we still have Kramarczuk’s as a treasured gift in NE Minneapolis. It’s authentic Eastern European cuisine that hits the center of the soul(even if you’re not Eastern European). As soon as you enter through the deli area at Kramarczuk’s, you’re immediately transported back into an old world meat shop with the scent of meats & spices. They have a variety of sausages that you can buy to take home besides just ordering the goods in their restaurant. They also have a bakery with a great selection. One of their numerous unique traits is that they carry pre-packaged sausage casings(or used to up until recently(?) & maybe they still do, I just can’t find them where I used to in the refrigerated case). For the at-home sausage making enthusiast, this simplified the process. I also picked up a copy of their new(& only) cookbook, that was well worth the purchase, «Kramarczuk’s Family Classics.» I wanted to read up on more of their history and to check out some of the ingredients that they use in their recipes. I highly recommend the read; knowing their roots and the journey to make Kramarczuk’s what it is today makes this restaurant that much more special. They have a great selection on their menu(pierogies, borscht, cabbage rolls, sausages, etc. etc. etc.), but the one item I can never tire of is their kielbasa sausage. Unbelievable flavor and texture. Plenty of seating, but it does get packed around meal time, so going a little early never hurts anyone. This is a great place for family, friends, and definitely kids! The seating can be easily arranged to acommodate a reallllly large group of people, so this is a perfect gathering spot for various reunions of sorts.

Growing up in «the burgh»(PIttsburgh for those that don’t get it!) I had been around a ton of food like they serve up here at Kramarzuk’s. Good hearty polish comfort food. They have a lovely meat counter filled with house made specialties. Oh the festival of baked goods will have you drooling on the glass. If you venture over to the deli side you can get yourself some great food and large portions. The price is decent. I had to have a Pierogi and the dough was very tender – you could taste the real potatoes inside and they are served up with a sour cream enhanced with horseradish. Yummers… I also had the soup of the day which happened to be potato leek so as a lover of carbs I was totally happy. They also have a nice selection of beverages. I opted for a nice wheat beer. Oh-yeah this place was also featured on Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives and I can see why.

Sunday Brunch Buffet… Great Option! I stopped in today with plans of ordering their Combo Meal, which normally comes with a stuffed cabbage roll, three perogi, and a piece of sausage of your choice. Unfortunately, their regular menu selection wasn’t available. All they had was the buffet. It was only about three dollars more than the price of the combo meal, but now i’d have the option of tasting other things too! and with a free coffee or fountain drink! The cabbage rolls are delicious! The cabbage wasn’t stringy and I was able to cut in to the roll with ease. The fried perogi were also very tasty, I put on lots of the horseradish sauce. The sliced kielbasa sausage and sauerkraut were pretty standard. There were other standard breakfast options to select from as well. Scrambled eggs, Eggs Benedict, bacon, maple sausage, deviled eggs, and an amazing looking Oatmeal with honey and a lot of other goodies. For dessert, there were several fruit options and several slices of their specialty cakes. My favorite was the Walnut Torte… Drool. The Deli next door has almost any kind of sausage you could want. I took home a large piece of kielbasa to snack on. I also bought a piece of Lemon Blueberry cake for later that night! There is a small parking lot next door which is pretty convenient, I’ll have to remember to park there next time instead of paying at a meter.

The smell of smoked meat was very noticeable as I entered the front door. I went at 1 o’clock to try to beat the lunch crowd, but it turned out I was the tail end of the lunch crowd and it was still pretty busy. I walked through the whole line and picked out a few things that looked delicious. I had a small bowl of German potato salad warmed up, and a piece of of Bavarian sausage, with some sauerkraut lasted with ham and other deliciousness. It was a delicious mess on my plate. The other side of the shop /restaurant was a smoked meat market with just about every type of sausage you can imagine. If I lived here my football Sundays would be that much better.
