This place is great! I came here while in town for a day visit. My buddy’s recommendation was spot on. The Margherita pizza is not only beautiful to behold, but delicious too. Also, I highly recommend the Punch Salad… excellent. Although I was in the middle of the lunch rush on Fri, it was a reasonable wait and everyone was friendly. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Minneapolis!

Punch has some of the best pizza of all time! Fresh ingredients and you still feel good about yourself after you’ve finished your entire pizza. Prices are very reasonable and quality is always consistent. I love Punch!

I love punch! But lately, I feel like the quality has gone down and the pizza is on the soggy side! Please fix it!

I’ve been to punch pizza for least 50 times in the past 8 years. They’re pretty consistent when it comes to taste and service at large. I would’ve given full 5 stars maybe 4 years ago. They are getting poorer in quality over the years. I know they are boasting the fact that they pay the highest minimum wage to its workers. I even remember seeing the owner being seated right next to the First Lady Obama during the president’s state of the Union address for voluntarily increasing the wage for its workers. I went to eat there with my family today and noticed they haven’t changed the price. So where are they getting the pay increase? Definitely by cost cutting. Half the pizza was just dough no topping not even sauce, there was a time I used to get full by eating the whole pizza, I wasn’t all that hungry, but I was anything but full, why? Because the size has gotten smaller and not much on top of the pizza anymore. It’s a cheap trick to pull off. I would’ve preferred if they kept the quality as it used to be and increased the price if they really needed the extra money. Tricking the customers thinking they didn’t change price but changed their size and quality is just wrong. I’m getting consistently disappointed with them these days. Highland park location is just simply better all the time, so I’ll check it out soon and will update my review. I have tried pretty much everything on their menu over the years and my favorite is chopped Italian, margherita with 3 of my favorite toppings and hazelnut panini. Speaking of which, their panini tastes worse every time I try it. The new workers are not skilled enough to make it right is my guess as to why.

The best pizza you can get west of Iceland, and they have reasonable prices. I will take them over any of the fancy pizzeria in the San Francisco bay area.

After traveling to Naples Italy I had experienced one of the finer things in life. I had tasted one of the great delicacies this world has to offer. I had authentic Italian pizza. My life would never be the same! However, as I was boarding my plane, I thought to muskeg — «I made a fatal error!» Why?!? Because I can’t juuuust fly over to Italy to have a good pizza, and all other pizzas would forever pale in comparison to this delicacy. However, thank God for Punch Pizza! John Pucket and his incredible team over at Punch have pain stakingly worked to recreate the Neapolitan pizza. They have aimed to be so authentic that they often travel to Napoli to immerse themselves in the Neapolitan way. For this, I am eternally grateful! Down to a few practicalities. In Naples, the Margarita is THE pizza. You don’t add much to your pizza. And fortunately, at Punch, the margarita is the cheapest pizza at a little over $ 6. However, if you wanted to get fancy, they have some incredible specialty pizzas that will blow your mind, but also take a little bit more of a blow to your wallet, but it’s worth it. Little known tip: you can ask for extra cheese when you pick up your pizza, and they’ll give you a little cup of mozzarella.

I walked in and the smell was overwhelmingly good. We ordered 3 pizzas and they were ready in 5 minutes. They have a plethora of choices and you can make your own custom pizza as well. Great food and great for families.

Punch pizza offers thin, Neapolitan style pizza, great salads, beer, soda and wine. Unlike the Suburban outposts of this local chain, this branch has character along with the the thin and delicious authentic pizza. They’ve got a nice-sized patio as well so you can dine alfresco if the weather is good. Parking can be tight, street parking only, but that’s about the only drawback to this location. I like the Toscano pizza with its roasted red peppers, Italian sausage, and a pinch of red pepper flakes and usually order it «DOC» style which upgrades you to buffalo mozzarella and a splash of olive oil for extra taste appeal. We also often order the Punch salad but get it «puchinello» style(salad is stuffed inside a puffed up pizza crust like a pita). We will just split a salad and a pizza if we are having it that way. All their outlets are great with friendly staff and short waits for food(the pizza cooks in 90 seconds). Highly recommended.

I go here regularly and savor everything about Punch! For having as many locations in MN as they do, they’ve done a great job in personalizing each location. Oddly for as delicious as all of their pizzas are(especially the NEWER gluten-free crusts… I like them even more than the original crust!), my absolute favorite thing to eat there is the Punch Salad! But if you were to twist my arm and ask what my favorite pizza is, then hands-down, it’s the Borgata(eggplant, goat cheese, kalamata olives, & their imported san marzano tomatoes!) Punch MUST be the fastest«slow food» around. Even if there’s a long line coming out of the doors, your wait time is still relatively quick(I once arrived just after a bus of soccer boys unloaded into Punch and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my wait time went). The Italian music, artwork, smells, flavors, and ambiance carries the perfect balance to dine at with friends, a date, or a large family.

Great service, great fresh pizza, and awesome salads. I’ve tried half a dozen varieties of their pizza and they are all delicious. The crust is perfect though sometimes the pies get a little soggy in center. The punch salad is a must as well. They usually have some pretty good craft beers on tap as well. Great place for carry-out or dining in. Wish they were open a little later though.

consistenly perfectly cooked pizzas, and nice servers. Their sauce-less pizzas, especially gigi, are amazing and I like how the taste is consistent all the time.

Everytime I have cravings for pizza, I come here! Even if it is a chain, I really like their pizza. The ingredients are FRESH — and that’s what makes the difference most. The dough texture is good, but the taste fails a bit of salt according to me(but I’ve heard people saying the opposite). The service is really basic: you have to order your pizza at the counter and then you can sit and wait(they are pretty quick!). You don’t have a waiter, but they come to bring you your plate anyway. Very easy and casual ambience. This is really the pizza most similar to the Italian one I’ve had so far in the US!

This is by far my favorite punch location in the Twin Cities. Parking wise I’m always a happy camper when I come here, not so much at other locations. Sorry Calhoun, Highland, and Stadium Village. There’s a small free parking area on the side of the building, metered parking on the street, and a metered lot right behind. Also, I love love LOVE the patio in the summer! There’s nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying a Bruni while soaking up the sun. Another feature I love about the location is the close proximity to Surdyk’s and the numerous boutiques in the area. And the ability to easily go on a stroll before or after along the riverfront or take in a movie. I’ve basically listed all the things I would do in the area in conjunction with visiting Punch and now I’m nostalgic for when I lived closer. Always outstanding service and za, plus lots to do in the area. Really this location can’t be beat! I’m still all about the Bruni.

Every time I’m in Minneapolis for a swim meet at U of M my team makes the trip to Punch. Always excited to get here and thoroughly enjoy the pizzas I’ve tried. This time I had a Gorgonzola salad and the Toto pizza. A little strong on the dressing, but the pizza was great. I have yet to try the buffa mozzarella, but will try it next time. Probably one of the best aspects of going was the speed of service. We came in with a large group(10+) and we were served very quickly. After a long day of travel, not having to wait a long time for food was a relief.

Crust is just amazing — but honestly I wouldn’t expect any less from a place that is VPN certified. I kinda wish Chicago had«fast food-ish» Neapolitan style pizzas because man I would be here every week. The crust was certainly my favorite part. The toppings were fresh, however many of the pizzas had so many toppings that they were lost and only 2 in particular would shine — seems like a waste. Regardless, if I’m ever back in the Minneapolis area, I would definitely return! Such a great deal for solid quality wood fired pizza.

This is my second time to this location. I am now about 4 blocks closer to Punch with a new position at Target, so I am sure I will take more trips across the Mississippi to try out more of what Northeast Minneapolis has to offer. I forgot how amazing this place was. We were on a team offsite at the Minneapolis Central Library(Which is really nice by the way) and for our lunch, we took a walk across the Grain Belt Hennepin Ave. bridge. From the Minneapolis Central Library, it was about a 15 minute walk. I ordered a marinara pizza, which was garlic shavings and herbs with no cheese, plus I added anchovies.(My favorite pizza topping) I also got a soda and the total was under 10 bucks. Nice! Our order came out in about 10 minutes because the place was hopping! There was a line out the frickin’ door on a Thursday afternoon. That says a lot about a place! The pizza was amazing! The crust was crispy, yet doughy and I asked for some parm, which they had no problem giving me a side of which seemed like fresh shaved. My boss ordered a regular pizza with sausage and pepperoni and onions. Sometimes when I get my pizzas without cheese and I get a regular one, it is like heaven. This was the case. The flavors were just flowing with that slice of pizza. Great service and the pizza runner that took the pizzas to tables were all awesome. I probably should have gave this place 5 stars on my first review. Love this place!

Siobhan took our order. She helped us make our picks and was very patient. Really great customer service! She let me try a bit of red wine to make sure I liked it(after she carded me… More points there too!!!) The chopped salad was delicious! And the rosemary ‘crusts’ that came with it were really yummy! We enjoyed sitting on the patio. It was a lovely time!

I was in NE Mpls getting a phone repaired and had a hour to kill and saw this place on Unilocal so I decided to give it a try rather than drive to Pizza Luce as I had originally planned. I’m glad I did. The size of the pizzas was perfect. They are smaller pizzas and since my daughter and I have very different tastes we were able to both get exactly what we wanted and both had a little left over to take home. I saw a complaint about soggy crust and I have to say I’m surprised because both our pizzas were perfect — perfectly cooked thin crust, just enough sauce and wonderful fresh toppings. I had the Bruni and it was incredible. Plus the service was friendly and VERY fast! I will definitely be trying to stop here often.

I’d heard of Punch and finally made it to the one in NE last night. The service was extremely friendly. The pizzas came out astoundingly quick! The price is fair/decent. But the pizzas are only moderately good. Because the crust is SOSOGGY. I mean, incredibly flimsy and soggy. The concept is just like MOD Pizza in Seattle, but their crust stays solid and crisp.

What I love about Punch is the consistent deliciousness and quality of their pizzas. I’ve seriously never had a disappointing visit. The Margherita is my typical standby — simply red sauce, mozzarella, and basil. And that crust. Really, you guys, it’s perfection. Wood-fired, just charred enough, and chewy at the edges, it’s light but has enough heft to satisfy this girl, who’s normally opposed to anything resembling thin crust pizza. They offer about 20 different kinds of pizzas, and also give diners the option of creating their own combination of toppings or adding to an order. Their salads are also really good. I’ve had the Punch and the Chopped Italian, and both are really delicious and filling. They also come with a side of foccacia, which helps round out the salad-as-meal concept(but really is a bit too salty, as others have noted). Most of them also come in half-sizes — a bonus if you want to add a little bit of green to your plate. Beer and wine are also available, and cute little containers of Izzy’s ice cream for dessert! Service is brisk, efficient, and friendly, and you never have to wait long for your order to come up. Takeout is also really convenient, and this location has parking for order pick-up in a lot next to the building. Inside Scoop: they do most of their advertising via social media, and if you subscribe to get their promotional e-mail updates and/or «like» them on Facebook, you get the first word when they have discounts and special offers, which sometimes involve free pizza! Free Mimi Day is seriously one of my favorite food holidays. Usually these deals are for one night only, so keep an eye out, plan accordingly, and get there early before the line wraps around the block!
