I was searching for a late-night place after leaving an event, and Lago Tacos was right up the street. What a great place, really. The waiter was exceptional in answering my questions as it was my first time there. The food was really awesome, and I have to give a huge shout-out for the Mexican Rice — simple, yet so, so good.

Tacos are reasonably priced and most are tasty. Service is consistently terrible. Margaritas are very sour for my taste. Overall, wouldn’t go out of my way to stop here any longer.

Not bad. Nice patio in the sun, fish tacos were a bit heavy considering they’re fried, $ 12 for a traditional margarita was a bit steep. All in all, not bad but probably will try to find fresher tacos elsewhere.

srrsly. f*ck this place. i «used to» love their devils advocate margarita. but after being ignored at the bar(yeah, at the bar… no middle man waitstaff to blame) for 20 minutes, we left. no eye contact, no «i’m swamped, i’ll be right with you…» nothing. and, from being there with a friend who has experience as a server, he wasn’t that busy. and i’m not that ugly. i shouldn’t have been ignored. for 20 minutes. is it the uptown attitude? nope. because go across the street to the vfw and get served with a smile and a cheap price tag. or you can go down the block to muddy waters where the cocktails and waitstaff are even nicer. i’ll be making my devils advocate margarita at home tonight. and from now on.

I have a dairy allergy, so I ordered the garden burrito with no dairy(cheese or crema). My burrito arrived with cheese melted on top. I sent it back and the waitress was very apologetic and caring. She had a replacement out within 5 minutes and comped the meal 100%, which was unexpected! The burrito tasted really good, especially slathered in the red sauce they have. Service was great.

My friend Ceno would like this place. Been here several times and never had me a bad taco not even one time bro. The chips & guac are legit and the outdoor seating is pretty great. I also like the fact that they HAVESINKSOUTSIDEOFTHEBATHROOMSSOTHEENTIRERESTAURANTKNOWSIFSOMEONEDIDN’T WASHTHEIRHANDS.

The service is not good at this place but the chicken tacos are great! We got a terrible attitude from our waiter when we asked to split the check. We went for happy hour and the prices were reasonable.

Went to meet a friend at HH. Nice beer specials. Service was super cool, as we entered the bar, the owner/manager/bartender(I am not sure) was making a toast to the whole bar. That was fun, kinda made you feel at home right away. We were seated right away. Got(2) chicken empanadas,(2 sizable) chicken tacos, and chips and dip. The pricing was $ 7, $ 6, $ 5. Totally worth it, and a lot of food for two people. Food was satisfying and very good for HH fare. I just wish I knew the chickens were free range, not cage-free, and not those battery cage chickens that live in misery with their beaks and toes cut off.(Industrial farming will be the death of us all).

If you’re not that hungry the tacos are big enough to share. The outside bar is totally where it’s at in the summer time. Can’t say I’m there a lot to sit inside. Sunset shots every night. They have so many options for tacos, some traditional and some combos you wouldn’t think of — my fav is the sesame chicken tacos. The Jorge’s jalapeño app is also delicious and who can’t get down with some fried avocado. They have a great happy hour that not many people seem to know about because I think they don’t advertise for it, but it is one of my group of friends no fail, go to spot, for outdoor happy hour in the summer… which usually turns into a whole night spent at Lago. if you haven’t been, check it out.

I must be getting older… because every time I go here I order a margarita. And every time I drink it, I get heartburn. But does that stop me from ordering one? Nope. Great food, chill atmosphere, usually pretty busy on the weekends. Recently went here with a group of 12 on a Friday night and we were sat almost right away, which was pretty impressive. I love their Chips and Dips(yes, you read right, dipS). You get chips, salsa, guac, and refried beans. So tasty. Their chicken tacos are really good, as is their steak quesadillas. I once made the amazing mistake of ordering their homemade jalapeño poppers. Holy cripes, were they SPICY. And I thoroughly enjoy spicy food, but lord have mercy I could not handle these bad boys. That may have also contributed to the heartburn. But I’ll be damned if I am going to stop ordering their margs.

We live across the Greenway from Lagos Tacos. When Heide’s closed and we saw a taco place going in, we were concerned. However, Lagos Tacos has delivered across all dimensions for over a year. It’s now our favorite«home near home»! What do we like… Food is tasty and a good value. Service has always been super prompt, professional and friendly. Ambience is comfortable and energetic with plenty of tv’s indoor and outside. And we just ordered our first Bloody Mary here… It’s fantastic! It’s comes with a deep fried pickle… Way better than it sounds!

Wow. A take out burrito took 30 minutes and the restaurant was not even full. I came in and ordered at 12:55 pm on a Sunday and the order wasn’t put in for another 10 minutes, then it finally came out at 1:26 pm. I saw it sitting behind the bar and had to go and get it myself. I talked to the manager and all I got was«it just came out.» Yup, I knew that part… I’m just sorry I paid in advance and tipped the bartender who really didn’t seem to care. I can’t even speak to the quality of the food but the service was pretty lackadaisical

I frequented this place for almost a year now, hyped them up to friends but after tonight’s crappy service experience I will never go back. I sat at the bar watching the end of the Lynx championship game with one beer the bartender never asked me if I wanted anything else & I was actually hungry when I arrived, came with the intent to get walleye tacos but the bartender working the night of 10⁄1415 between the hours of 9&10:30 was more concerned with making his experimental drink creations & sharing them with coworkers… excuse me for expecting basic customer service… DON’T EAT @ LAGOTACOS!!!

Tacos Lagos, Tried Your food twice. Both times under-seasoned and cold. I can think of three Taco Trucks within a half mile of You with great food. Two strikes and You are out. Maybe spend more attention to food and not approximately 15 T.V.s.

I’ve given Lago Tacos three chances over the year. It’s close to my home, so it’s an easy walk. Each time I’ve eaten here, the service has been less than spectacular. Today I was in and the bartender never re-filled my water, never asked me if I needed anything. I was literally the only person at the bar. The food is ok. Nothing really to write home about. The chix tacos are bland. The steak tacos aren’t bad. You’d be better off probably making the hike somewhere else.

Stopped in for Taco Tuesday at the LynLake Lago Tacos. I had been to the Excelsior location multiple times, but this was my first visit to this location. Started with the guacamole app and ordered two triplets of tacos(Chicken Tinga and Al Pastor). The food was okay, but not great. The food was luke warm(temperature wise) at best and the al pastor tacos lacked any substantial flavor. The restaurant was not overly busy either with what appeared to be a large wait staff eager to pounce on new customers. So I was hoping the food would be fresher/warmer. The hot sauce was on par though and exactly as I remembered it from the other location. Dame goes for the small and delicious corn muffin like cakes, be sure to get this. Due to my locale I will be back again, next time for drinks too :) Will be sure to report back!

I went to Lago in the beginning of the summer with my boo, and we sat at the bar while ordering takeout. We got the chicken tinge, ahi tuna, garden and mahi mahi tacos. Since we were doing takeout we ordered a couple beers and chilled with the bar patrons. The bartender was splendid and very nice to talk to. He told us about some of his favorite tacos and then we talked beer for a bit. The wait was about 15 minutes as it was a busy Friday night. We ended up eating 2⁄4 tacos because I cannot resist the smell of tacos when I’m hungry. The garden was really well done with a nice white sauce from sautéing. My other favorite was the mahi mahi which had a great pineapple salsa on it. The chicken Tinga was nothing memorable and though the ahi tuna was good, the flavor combinations did not stand out like the other two. After eating a bit at the bar I was able to quell the beast within and wait until we got home to finish the rest. I definitely like this place and the atmosphere, and the patio looks amazing. If you’re looking for more of a tex-mex style taco with a lot of options then Lago is your place. Be prepared to spend a bit more though, these are no $ 2 tacos.

I was wondering if I could write a one word review for Lago Tacos to describe how great it is in so many different ways. The answer was sadly no. I’m not sure I’ve had better tacos anywhere & they win hands down on value. The Al Pastor marinated pork with grilled pineapple, onions & cilantro tacos pack an incredible punch of flavor & messiness that’s worth licking your fingers so you don’t miss anything. Seriously try it!

I was happy to see guacamole available as a stand alone appetizer. There was an option to add shrimp for $ 4, which is too much for a wildcard addition to guac. The bowl of guac was huge! The quality of guacamole was very good, and there seemed to be so much… Or so we thought. Less than half way through the bowl and there was a bed of shredded lettuce filling up over half the bowl! We couldn’t believe it! I checked the menu to see if there was lettuce advertised with the dish, there wasn’t. A half a bowl of shredded lettuce topped with guacamole is unacceptable and deceiving.
