It’s very hard finding good vegetarian food in Downtown Minneapolis and Mama’s had the perfect combination of veggies ona pizza. They call it the ‘the works’, meaning it’s got everything in it. Their pizza slices are generously big, so look before you order.

I’ve only been here for breakfast… that’s right, breakfast. They have breakfast pizzas, what looks like breakfast calzones, breakfast sandwiches and a few baked goods. I love their muffins and cinnamon rolls. The muffins and scones are huge! And very fresh. Not keep your hands to yourself, fresh, but still warm when you put them in the bag fresh. I’ve seen a few people walking through the skyway with their breakfast pizzas in their hands and had to figure out what was going on. If you want something different, check them out.

If you’re too bloated or lazy to walk all the way to Andrea Pizza(another half block, you indolent bastards), you may find yourself at Mama’s. The pizza is fine. Not anywhere as good as Andrea or Pizza Luce, but you’ll be happy with the value. It’s a little dingy in there and the seating is minimal. Plus, there aren’t as many lunchtime options as the competition. But overall, this place is fine.

You can’t go here for the pizza… you go here for the breakfast pizza! The standard pizzas are just… ok. But the breakfast pizza — I have a whole aisle of co-workers that crave that breakfast pizza. It has no tomato sauce, just eggs, cheese and sausage or bacon depending on which you prefer. It is greasy, breakfasty deliciousness and you’ll feel guilty about eating it, but it’s worth it once a month or so.

I am not a huge fan of there pizza, but I will tell you where it is at with Mama’s. Their scones and muffins in the morning are so delicious. If you go early, you can still get the raspberry ones, which are warm from the oven and go fast.

It’s not the absolute best, but still pretty good – I mean, it’s pizza, after all! I’m not the first one on here to mention the grease factor, but yes, it is rather greazy, even for pizza – so much that the ingredients almost overwhelm the crust, which can become somewhat mushy. But I do like their veggie pizza, and with a little extra seasoning, it’s good to go. I like to come during their«Happy Hour,» 2:30 — 3:00, the last half-hour they’re open, when you can get two slices for the price of one. So it may not be the best, but the value can’t be beat, especially considering the slices are HUGE. Update: Happy hour is now 2:30 to 3:30…pizza slices are no longer buy one get one during that time, but they’re buy one, get one for 49 cents. Still not bad. Despite what people on here are saying, I think the pizza is as good as it’s ever been and I haven’t noticed any worsening lately. It’s quite good, and the Happy Hour price can’t be beat(well, OK, clearly they did beat the price back when it was buy one get one. But still worth the current price).

Mmm, Mama makes tasty breakfast pizza. It is greasy, but when your breakfast contains cheese, eggs, and your pick of a sodium-rich artery blocking meat on a PIZZA, well, the grease factor can’t really be that surprising. That said, I think I would only be able to handle this once a week if I were inclined to «forget» breakfast more often. The workers are friendly and the price is a little cheaper than the breakfast sandwiches at nearby shops.

I’ve only eaten here once or twice and was not impressed, even though it’s cheap. Perhaps I need to go during the busier times so the pizza’s more fresh, because it seemed kinda stale when I was there. Never tried the salads.

My office ordered for our lunch meeting. Good pizza, vibrant green salads, and yummy cookies. And for me, it was free. Can’t complain about that, right? I’m not familiar with toco pizza, but the adventurer in me gave it a shot. Not bad. They even provide you with hot sauce packets. Me likie! Pizza tastes like your standard commercial pizzerias, minus the grease. Caution: Tick ass salad dressing.

Mama’s gets it done with large slices, hot pepper flakes, and pretty decent lunch deals(2 slices gets you a free medium soda and you can get a soda and a slice for 5.99 too. There is also the happy half-hour where you can BOGO on slices.) The salad bar is pretty big and decent for being in the skyway. The people that work here are also pretty nice as far as fast-ish-food types go; they won’t crank at you if you can’t decide and they always have a smile ready, which makes all the difference during the crazy-busy lunch time. It’s not fancy and it’s borderline greasy, but it’s pretty good. I’ve seen lots of people bring their take-your-kid-to-work kids here and it seems like it’d be the kind of place that mimics an old-school diner just enough to make it kid-friendly too.

Mama’s Pizza is not that specialized compared to punch nor Andrea. It feels the same as Papa Johns and Pizza hut. It is tasty. But there is no surprise.

Mama’s pizza is the best. Not too greasy and fast! I always see a lot of people there for breakfast… but I have not tried their breakfast.

I’ve only had the breakfast pizza here, but it is so amazing. I mean don’t expect to get any work done if you work downtown and maybe plan on unbuttoning your pants for a bit too. My favorite is half sausage and half egg with bacon — you get the best of both worlds. The people here are pretty nice, always stressed out on Friday mornings since that is probably when they are the most busiest! And lastly, right now if you go online you can get a $ 5 off coupon!

Where can you get a big slice of pizza and a soda around $ 5. Mama’s that is. When I walking back from a lunch time Target run I like to stop here. I mainly go for the pepperoni pizza. What can I say I like a classic. In the afternoon they do offer slice specials but I have not been over for that. Usually to late in the afternoon.

I don’t choose to have pizza for lunch all that often, but when the urge strikes me to grab a slice(read: when I’m hungover), I’m usually heading to Mama’s. Things happen quickly here and it’s sometimes hard for me to keep my foggy head straight while trying to place my order, carry the pizza plate, pay the cashier, carry/fill my soda cup and also attempt to hot pepper and parm my slice. Just like other Mpls slice-o-pizza joints, there is no lack of grease. I get embarrassed walking back to my office with my flat paper-bag as the pizza grease emanates thru it. I have seen the glares from my fellow skyway pedestrians… either they are disgusted or they are jealous. Let’s be honest, Mpls skyway pizza isn’t renowned or anything… but I do think that Mama’s runs a clean and worthy of dining-in location… which is unlike some other pizza places I have been. On a side note, they serve up a wicked breakfast pizza. Check out their website for coupons because they are kind of expensive.
