Part of the larger inside market shop/eating area. I guess it was the old Sears building. Flavorful sandwiches as the Cubana was EXCELLENT! However, they have a long wait as only two people were working when i was there for lunch… Just put your order in and walk around for a bit getting other things and come back later. Also double check your order as they tried to give me someone else’s when I initially picked it up.

The best tortas in town! But I’d rather save a buck and get no chips than crappy lays original

They are not bad, but at the same time not what I thought they were going to be. I am not a huge«pay a whole lot» for a sandwich thing. There were OK, and basically… eh.

First time having Manny’s after my BF keeps raving about their steak tortas, and I understand why he hypes this place up. Sandwiches are made to order and their condiments really make this sandwich sing. I’m usually a «skip all sauce» type of girl but my BF said to try it as its suppose to be made and so I did(not a big mayo/ketchup/mustard type fan in any type of sandwich or foods). This sandwich however was excellent. It had a nice kick from chipotle pepper mayo and jalapeño peppers that didn’t overpower my taste buds. Each sandwich also includes refried beans, avocado, onions, and standard tomato and cheese and lettuce. Each bite I took, had a fiery taste that was soon soothed with the creamy avocado spread. I suppose if you don’t like spicy things you could opt out on it but as my BF always says, get the damn thing like its suppose to be. Ugh, I guess he wins this round. Will return soon!

I went to Manny’s during the Taco Tour of Lake street at the Midtown Exchange. They had a special meat made up which was a melt in your mouth pulled beef of sorts. It was the best taco of that day and I ate 5 tacos throughout the day. Did I mention tacos are my favorite food? They are, so nuff said. I can’t wait to go back to Manny’s and get not just another taco but what they’re known for-a torta. Sooo much goodness.

I’ve been coming to Manny’s before the midtown global market times. When they had a location further down Lake Street by the Third Precinct. Prices have gone up at least $ 2.00 since the good ol’ days. I went to satisfy my Manny’s Chicken sandwich craving today, and I had quite the appetite. Sandwich was good, but I wasn’t amazed like usual. I can’t put my finger on why, but I left feeling unsatisfied. Kinda disappointing for a $ 9.65 sandwich…

This was so legit. It’s been on my bookmarks forever but I never went because I’m not huge on sandwiches. Yesterday I found myself craving a Cuban sandwich so I thought I’d hit this place up to try theirs. I got there and it was Manny at the register! I told him I had never been thhere and he suggested the Manny’s Special. Said it was the best. Sold. How can I go wrong with Manny’s suggestion? I ordered mine sans avocado, mayo on the side. While I was waiting, I talked to Manny for a while! He’s so nice. We talked about weightlifting because I was clearly in gym clothes and he made me flex for the girl who was making my food, haha! He’s an awesome guy and I loved chatting with him! The torta was excellent, but pretty greasy and salty. The bottom got soggy pretty quickly. Otherwise, the flavors were amazing together. I am glad I tried his special and I look forward to going back and trying the Cuban next time!

So many choices in the Midtown market but Manny’s Tortas is not a tough decision. Their sandwiches are prepared fresh and taste fantastic. The gals working behind the counter were very nice & helpful. The tortas are big both in size and flavor. I don’t know what to say. They are SOGOOD. Like, so so so good. You will not leave disappointed — any torta you order is full of fixings and taste. Try it — you’ll like it.

Manny’s Tortas is amazeballs. If you are searching for the best sandwich in the twin cities, then look no further. It has the perfect balance of melty, gooey, cheesy, salty, chewy, crunchy, crusty, savory goodness. It is the most crave-able sandwich I’ve ever devoted my hunger to. The Manny’s special is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the disneyworld of the meat on bread kingdom, the sun and the stars. This thing is better, then it’s best. Every savory bite is incredible. Avocado, grilled onions and peppers, grilled steak and pork, melty cheese inside perfectly baked bread. Eat it, let it fulfill you– then wish you were still hungry so you could eat another one. Oh yeah– Manny is super humble and incredibly accommodating(oh you don’t eat ‘shrooms, no prob… etc, etc) best sandwich in the cities period. Damn, I’m getting one for lunch again tomorrow.

Great spot to grab a quick lunch, I had the manny’s special. It had steak, onions and ham. Delicious, tender and saucy. The bread wasn’t too hard and it was a really good sandwich, fair prices. They also throw in a bag of chips which I swapped for avocado instead. I highly recommend that because not only is it healthier, avocado anything with bread is delicious! Definitely come here if you’re at the market!

I went there the other day for a meal. They sort of remind me of Jimmy John’s but different. It’s hard to explain how it’s different. That’s certainly not a bad thing. I had a great time there. The food was great, and the people were friendly. I had the hawaiian«sub» meal(it wasn’t really called a sub). It was the owner who served me. I had a good conversation with him, and he was friendly. I don’t make it to Global Market often, but when I do, I will keep this place in consideration. I will be back.

Give this girl a sandwich, and I’m happy. Make it a Mexican sandwich, and I’m ecstatic. A torta is always a good idea. So head over to Manny’s and order the Haiwaiana or Juevos con Chorizo with a jarrito.

Still love Manny’s Tortas, and I’m sure that if this eatery resided any closer to my crib, I’m sure all three of these things would happen: 1) my pants would«fit» a lot tighter; 2) I would know all of their employees by at least first name; and 3) my monthly budget would include a torta section. This love between two cheeks of bread is. Just. That. Good. I’ve tried most of these babies, but I usually get the Milanesa(breaded steak). If breaded steak isn’t your thang, consider getting the Cubana(pork tenderloin, ham, and cheese). However, all their sandwiches will make your tongue dance circles. I have no gripes about the food, however for this location, the orders come out a bit slow for me. For whatever reason, the Mercado Central location seems to shovel out the food much faster without sacrificing quality. I prefer that location, despite being farther away from where I live. Also, these savory sammies come at a steeper price than other torta joints, but they are better.(This is not to say that other taquerias can’t hold it down.) Love you still, Manny’s Tortas.

With so many food options at Global Market, I picked this one because I remembered the name from Unilocal. We both ordered Manny’s special. These were served hot off the grill. The blend of meats, cheese, peppers, tangy sauce and avocado slice just work great together. They came with chips. All washed down with a Tamarind Jarritos. They appear to be opening a brewery right next to Many’s so maybe next time I will have a beer. They were so good I was sorely tempted to order another. I don’t know where I would have put it though. That first one filled me up.

I took the Greenway here for a late lunch. I was hoping to have missed the lunch crowd, but there was still a decent stream of people trickling in. I was excited to try this place out after reading the reviews, but apprehensive because the only other time I’ve tried a torta was very mediocre. My friend placed an order for the #8 Milanesa Torta(breaded steak cutlet), and I followed suit. I was watching one of the staff spoon avocado right out of the shell and onto the sandwich bread and got way too excited! The torta was fantastic! The ingredients were fresh, well-balanced with no ingredient overpowering the other. The steak cutlet was tender and breaded well. It was delicious and now my go to torta. The staff were very polite, and the area was clean and well kept. My only issue was that it was ~$ 9.50 for a lunch that was essentially a great sandwich, a bag of chips and a bottle of water. I could do without the chips, honestly, but it comes with it(?). It’s hard to justify the steep price with jimmy johns and potbelly as my sandwich pricing standard. But, I can see myself making a stop here every now and then for my delicious torta fix.

At 3PM with nothing in my belly since previous night’s dinner, I was ready to eat the world. I settled for Manny’s Tortas at Midtown Global Market given the reviews… But I was a bit disappointed. I was debating on the Cubana or the Manny Special and got the latter because I am easily convinced with food pictures, and they advertised it by the cashier… This sandwich/sammy had heated steak and veggies(jalapeños included but can be removed if you are not into the heat) inside, a slice of ham, and some kind of sauce that looks like an aioli but spicier. They also give you a side of lays chips. The biggest gripe I have with the place was that my sandwich was soggy. As in one side of the bread was so mushy i had to eat it with a fork because it just fell apart. It was not even attractive falling apart(not like my Chipotle burrito exploding into a plate which I will gleefully eat) but more like«oh well now since this takes so much effort it gives me a reason to not finish it». Also, I should note that I ate the sandwich literally right after I got it – as in, sandwich off the grill for a minute and into my mouth. So, how within those 60 seconds it became slush I have no idea. While it didn’t cost that much(I believe $ 8.95), given it is located in a market with so many other great options I sort of wish I tried elsewhere. The flavoring was okay but it was not anything I particularly thought I would try again. Somehow I thought it would be Mexican themed sandwiches(probably given the classification it is under in Unilocal) but I was not convinced when I had it. I was glad that I split the sandwich with my boyfriend so I didn’t have to finish the whole thing. That being said, the man who I assume to be the owner, seems very nice. He was talking to locals/regulars and greeting their children. I am a bit of an optimist so I would be willing to try another sandwich and update my review.

This place has been on my radar forever… even when they had a physical location on Lake st. Finally got around to trying them on a eating tour the girl and I did on Sunday at the Midtown. I got the Mannys special and she got the Chorizo and egg. Both Mannys way, with onions, guac, etc. Reasonably priced for how filling they are. Everything tasted fresh, and the sandwhiches are made to order. Only 2 complaints– one is they food took a while to come out, and two, my sandwhich was NUCLEAR hot. Like, too hot to even hold. I didn’t know food could get that hot without burning away. It made the bottom bun disintigrate of my sandwich. But once it cooled down, was fantastic.

Absolutely love the Cubana! When I go to MGM I usually go to one of 3 – 4 places, Manny’s is one of them for many reasons. Although it’s not the cheapest option in the market they definitely have some good things going for them. 1. The Tortas are great, my favorite is definitely the Cubana. 2. Crafty Mexican Sodas, the Mango is awesome. 3. And of course it’s close to Sonora Grill. Nothing new here, Manny’s Tortas has been around for a while and if you haven’t tried it then you’re missing out.

It really can’t be said enough, «delicious» and«best tortas in town!» Be warned, these tortas are a little pricy for for their size, but they’re very satisfying.

With so many good places to choose from in the Global Market it can be really difficult sometimes to decide where to eat. My best advice is to just flip a coin and let the result be your destiny. When that coin lands on Manny’s tortas you won’t be disappointed. In my opinion, these are the best tortas in Minneapolis. My favorite is Manny’s take on the Cuban sandwich(The Cubana). The only difference between a normal Cuban and Manny’s Cuban is that Manny’s substitutes Jalapenos for the normal pickles, which makes this sandwich even better. I guess it’s a Mexican Cuban? I don’t like to order the same thing every time I dine, but this sandwich is so good, I find myself in a rut when I come to Manny’s because all I ever order in the Cubana but hey, that is just fine. It’s almost like my own episode of Best Thing I Ever Ate! I do find it strange that they don’t offer chips and salsa, instead you get normal potato chips with your sandwich, but that’s ok. Guess it is just a sandwich.(A really good sandwich). The service is excellent, the atmosphere is great and the tortas are out of this world. You can’t go wrong if you’re at the Global Market and you decide to eat at Manny’s. Sandwich wise this place is 5 stars, I’m giving it 4 because it’s just a sandwich joint!
