Mesa Pizza is quite the HOPPIN’ place. It was around bar close time, and the line was LONG. We had to wait in line for over 30 minutes before we got to the front and needless to say, it was a stressful environment. I felt like I was surrounded by drunk people and the staff weren’t helping the situation. The pizza we wanted wasn’t available, so we had to settle for what they had out at the time. My boyfriend practically got yelled as he was trying to point at the pizza he wanted to buy for the both of us. I had to put the guy in his place, and he smiled at me because he seemed to understand me better than my boyfriend, but trust me, I was still a bit annoyed with the guy. I get that there were a lot of people to cater to, but he didn’t treat my boyfriend in a way that I would say was conducive to «good service.» I was happy to pay and get out of there. To be honest, I don’t even remember what pizza we got because of how hectic and unprofessional the staff person was. He seemed to get frustrated when we asked him what the pizza slices were, so we quickly picked some out just to keep the line moving. I’m giving Mesa a 3 because of how good their pizza was. The slices were large, and the toppings tasted amazing even after 2:00am. If the employees shape up and learn how to work under pressure, this place would be awesome. I’ve heard that it’s better to go during the day when you can actually get the pizza you request, so I’ll have to come back sometime.

Guy gave me the wrong pizza. I told him. He said just take it and leave. I was astounded. I asked for the pizza I paid for and the guy got offended and had some large employee intimidate me into leaving. What the hell? Who does that? The pizza is always great, but the employee are always pretty crappy people.

Craft pizza by the slice. Definitely can’t beat it. It’s not fancy food, but my favorite is the mac and cheese!

Severely disappointed in the customer service. I showed up 15 minutes before close and was physically pushed out the door by an employee. Thank you but no thank you. Zero stars.

Nato couldn’t have been more accommodating. They delivered a bunch of pizzas 22 miles away for my wife’s birthday and arrived on time with great pizza. Great food and great service.

We went here during a concert at the Varsity. It was right across the street. By hey had several options. Not good if you are indecisive, as there is a wide array of choices! However you can play it safe or try something new. Gyro pizza was awesome. They were out of MacAnd Cheese which was a request of my kids but other than that it was good. Staff was very friendly, good service.

The taco pizza is everything. If you get a Mac and cheese slice you can add spicy mayo and just bask in fat happiness. There is no place better for a cheap late night snack or a quick meal. Plus eavesdropping on undergrads at bar close, or any time, is entertainment in itself.

This is my first time here and now that the initial euphoria is starting to wear off, all I feel is sadness that I have to go back to St. Louis and this pizza will not be in my life anymore.

I have a loyalty to mesa. I had been fueled off of this pizza for 5 years of college. I even got in a fight with a friend about the fact that Mesa is waaay better than Ian’s pizza. Best flavors: chicken quesadilla, hamburger mac and cheese, southern gentleman and chicken penne. Was sad to see the big jump it price when i went to visit recently. In my day a slice was $ 2.50 and the sauce was fo free. Go!

Good, interesting slices. Lots of crazy combinations but they make good classic slices as well. The sauces are great.

Definitely lived up to the hype. I walked in with my kid because I love to drag him along on food adventures, although he is SO not adventurous. I thought maybe he’d get into the mac and cheese pizza, but no. He chose pepperoni. Typical. As for me, I am the most indecisive person ever. I go into each meal as though it were my last and as if the decision will impact my future. So I walked in and there were about 45 choices of pizza so I froze and took about 10 minutes to decide. The guy behind the counter was super cool and patiently told me the flavor of every pizza slice I pointed out. Eventually I chose southwest taco, chicken gyro, and red pepper eggplant. They were ALLSOGOOD! The eggplant was my least fav and the taco was the best. I would be in deep deep trouble if this place was close to me. Now I have a mission to try them all. They were all so beautiful.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible dining experience that only Mesa Pizza could fix. It’s been 5 years since I was in college and I still rely on this place to be the pick me up I need. It’s always amazing and you could never get bored with the menu. My favorite slices include steak and fries, Philly cheesesteak and the gyro.

So I walked in with the intention of buying for myself and my staff. My staff gave me their pics but they were out of all. They had other selections but none were labeled. I asked, could you name off a few so I could let people know what was available. The clerk’s reply, «Well, I will give you a couple but not all.» Oh My. She started rattling them off and then decided to speak as quickly as possible so there was no way to capture the information. It was clear she was not in the mood to help in anyway, so I left. I realize that their charm is offering cool flavors and styles of pie, but if you make communicating your offers to your customers such an ordeal, it only leaves a sour taste in ones mouth– especially when trying to order for a group. Might I suggest a chalk board menu if investing in tags is such a put off. It would add charm, keep your clerk from having to help customers and make your options available for those to see.

I love you Mesa Pizza. Especially late at night. You’re my guilty pleasure after a long night of drinking. Although I could do without the sometimes rude but always loud staff, constant long lines, and slightly dirty looking establishment. I’ll put up with all of it for a slice. There’s a big selection of pizza with unique toppings. Think mac and cheese, gyro, mashed potatoes with beef, penne or lasagna pasta, pulled pork with pickles, etc. It’s rare I pick a slice I don’t like, but irregardless the crust is always perfect, crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I’m hungry now. Prepare to wait in line, and keep moving forward or you’ll get yelled at. After ordering you’ll have to wait for them to pop it back in the oven for a few minutes. There’s grated Parmesan cheese, crushed red peppers, and other condiments available. The speciality slices are about $ 3.75, cash only, totally worth it! You can eat there, you’ll find a few chairs. Most people grab it to go. I’m glad I don’t live close by. I’d be 500lbs by now. If you’re in the neighborhood you have to try a slice of pizza here!

Mesa pizza is unique and usually delicious! Stopping in for a slice is a good way to sample some of their different zzas, but I have mostly ordered delivery from this location and imagine parking would be tricky. Their pizzas are huge so don’t be thrown off by the price! Our favorites include the gyro, pepperoni, Mac n cheese, spinach feta pesto. We have tried some that weren’t great(one had tomatoes that made it quite soggy) but overall I highly recommend this pizza joint. Their crust is usually nice and crispy and their topping combinations are truly inventive.

Some Co-workers and I were checking out the new Target Express(Which was really cool, if I had this place in college, it would have saved a hour trip with 3 friends to the Cub 3 miles away, since they have all the food I ate in college, like rice, soup, and hot sauce) in Dinkeytown and we needed some lunch, so we pulled up Unilocal and saw that Mesa Pizza was right nearby. We entered and there is a huge slab of pizzas that ready for consumption by the slice. I ordered a spicy buffalo chicken and another spicy taco pizza slice. Seriously, there are about 8 pizzas to choose from. I get real pizza with cheese about 4 times a year, so when I get it, I want some good stuff. We sat down with our cans of soda(Boo, I like the fountain drinks) and within about five minutes, they took the slice that they warmed up in the pizza oven and called our names. The slices were perfect! Soft, yet crispy crust with toppings that made the heart flitter, with just enough cheese as to not make it soggy. We asked for some Frank’s hot sauce to add some spiciness to the spicy pizza, kind of Minnesota spicy. Very mild on my spiciness scale. It was cool that they gave us the squeeze bottle of the buffalo sauce to add ourselves. The server guys were super cool and the pizza was amazing, hence the 4 stars. Not bad for under $ 10 with the soda.

This place rocks. So many different kinds of pizza that it’s too much to list. Basically, you can buy it by the slice. or you can buy a whole pizza which can be split in half with two different selections of pizza. My personal faves would be. –mac n cheese(doesn’t taste as amazing as it sounds but it’s so different you love it) –chicken pesto –BBQ Steak and Fries(yes fries on your pizza!) These are literally a small selection of what they have to offer. The drink selection is kind of weird… $ 1 for a can of pop. Not used to being handed a can like that!

I’m a UofM student that’s beginning to crave Mesa every single day. I’ve tried at least 10 – 15 different varieties over the past year and a half, and I’ve yet to try one that I really didn’t like. From Southwest Steak & Guac, to the Philly, to the Feta-Spinach-Tomato, to the classic Mac & Cheese; almost everything I’ve tried is delicious. Great flavor combinations and toppings. Cheap, quality ingredients, and tasty. The only issue that I could point out is that the bread/crust varies. Sometimes it comes out perfect, sometimes dry. Oh yeah, and worst case you don’t like the random flavor you decide to try? Ask them for their«southwest sauce». Stuff is crack.
