Excellent for hot yoga! Tried out a Friday night deal of a class. Got to use a towel and mat free for my first visit! Still have the towel & mat offer from Unilocal to use again on another visit.
The people checking us in were extremely helpful and informative. They have a lovely and spacious women’s locker room with 3 or 4 showers. Thankfully they have a shampoo/​body wash provided since I forgot mine!
The class was packed! 95 degrees and I survived quite nicely! Dave was a good leader. You should probably know the poses somewhat. Though the gentleman in front of me was a pro so the ones I wasn’t familiar with I could follow a neighbor to do correctly.
Bring lots of water and extra towels! Slippery skin makes yoga dangerous! Take your time and stay hydrated and you’ll have a positive experience like I did.
Hope to try it out again sometime soon!

Modo yoga has spoiled me for all other yoga studios. The owners are wonderful teachers that still teach classes and create a similar feel to all classes, regardless of the teachers individual style, you knew you were at a Modo class. The facilities are beautiful, clean, calm and new. The women’s locker room was always clean and as it’s almost impossible to leave without showering I always found them in good shape.
The focus is on both spirit and the body, making all classes challenging and if you’re open to it healing. I started doing yoga consistently for the first time in my life at Modo for this very reason. It brought calmness to my mind that no other work out has and I had a tough work out ever time. The community is also amazing, and I found myself looking forward to seeing the regular faces and teachers as much as the class. I went for 2 years and sadly had to move out of Minneapolis, Modo is still the thing I miss most and I have yet to replace this studio in my new city. I cannot recommend this studio more! Both advanced and beginners can enjoy and if you want it there is a great community to join.

I started modo yoga last year with Groupon. I liked it. I just got lucky and had amazing instructors– Leah, Dave and Kitty. I tried other hot yoga places, but they were mostly loud music, instructors screaming on top of it, and more of a work out than yoga.
For this year, Here’s the review :
Pros: Instructors are great, clean facility, doesn’t smell like sweat, they actually practice yoga poses.
Cons: It is getting more commercialized. Loud music, instructors scream on top of it– Exactly what I was avoiding. End result– Not able to reach the goal of being relaxed and focus while doing yoga. I emailed and expressed my concern, but I was told each class that has music, says so. Well, I have been to modo yoga 60 minute and modo flows, none say music will be played. It’s not that I mind music during yoga, it’s the kind of music they pick. It’s LOUD. I am not going there for a «workout» and run on a treadmill.
Will I renew my membership? May be-​only for Leah and Dave. Considering how expensive it is, and how it limits my options, I would lean towards mmmmnoo. I will try more classes with instructors I have not had classes with. If I find anything different, I will update the review.
If you are new to yoga, you probably won’t mind the music. You will be conditioned to accept it.
If you have done yoga in the past, you will be disappointed by the loud music. May be consider music you would play while meditating or instrumental music. Indie music, American dream pop is not what you play while doing yoga

Modo is a very friendly and welcoming studio with a great sense of community — just how I like it!

Modo is a great studio that really got me hooked on Yoga! I am a person that generally dislikes HOT weather so I was not sure I would enjoy being in a hot room but it was/​is a wonderful cleansing experience.
For me it is the perfect balance of mind and body work.

I love the community at Modo Yoga. It is my happy place. I was saw someone write that the reason they have been attending yoga at Modo for so long is because it’s their closest thing to church. I absolutely agree. The intentions set at the beginning of class ALWAYS speak to me. It is definitely a challenge physically, but I appreciate that Modo also focuses on the mental and spiritual.

As a newcomer to yoga, I was nervous. The teachers and staff were awesome with making me feel comfortable, as well as helping me to find ways to get the most out of my yoga practice. I’ve been going for a few months now, and love it. I always feel great after class. I really look forward to my time at modo a couple times throughout the week. Thank you!

I am more into high intensity bootcamp type workouts but I’ve been challenging myself to try to get into lower impact workouts as well to give my joints a break.
I was skeptical as I previously didn’t enjoy yoga much, but I LOVE modo hot yoga. I have enjoyed each class and noticed a difference in my flexibility and my knee pain has improved! I told myself I was just going to do the intro month but I just bought 10 sessions after the month expired I’m hooked!
I also tried the barre class and wow, loved it. A great, challenging workout. In the last month I did modo yoga class, hot flow, and barre. I actually thought the hot flow was a little easier since you don’t hold the poses as long, but just my 2 cents.
Overall, I just love modo! And I belong to 2 other gyms otherwise the month is a great value… just wish you could buy even more sessions upfront for a discount. But modo is also on class pass for those that have that. Give it a try!

I’d tried hot yoga once before, at a Bikram studio and had a really bad experience. Saw a groupon for modo yoga and had heard positive reviews so I decided to take a risk.
I loved it and so did my body. I was so happy that the breath, mindfulness and spiritual components of a yoga practice were included. It was refreshing, challenging, and nourishing!

Naaaaaaaamaste. Modo offers a wide variety of hot yoga classes, including a barre class if you are really looking for a work out. If you are a newbie to hot yoga, try a Modo Yoga 60 minute class. It’s very relaxing and the flow is smooth enough that you can adapt to meet your own pace.
If you are looking for a challenge, try the Hot Flow. This class is challenging, but you will really feel it in your legs and shoulders the next day.
Their commitment to the green lifestyle goes past the yogi way and into their changing rooms and their general store. They use all biodegradable products from the soap to the lotion.
If you aren’t sure about this place, you can give it a try for an unlimited first month for $ 40, a seriously great investment. Plus, if you check in on Unilocal,you get a free mat & towel rental. You get this deal each time you check in, so why the heck wouldn’t you do it? It’s wonderful.

Modo Yoga is the best yoga in the Twin Cities area. That’s why I drive all the way from the East Side of St. Paul to go there. There is a level of both spiritual and physical rigor — and I come for them both. Too often yoga can be too fitness-​y, and the teachers act like personal trainers, and on the other hand, some of the more spiritually heavy classes can be really sleepy. Not so at Modo — the yoga instructors help you with your alignment AND your spiritual condition. I wish I could be their best friends. Every class they come in with an intention and help you connect the dots between the mat and your life. I have only been coming here for 2 months and I can see the changes in by body, mind, and soul. I hope to come here for a long time to come.

Oh ya, hot yoga? They keep there rooms at a real 104! Classes are awesome but parking can be tricky!
$ 40 for an intro month too. I recommend buying that and taking as many classes as you can to see which classes you like and which instructors since the monthly membership is pretty steep. You can then just get a punch card if you only plan to go a few times a month.

Modo Yoga Minneapolis is a premier fitness experience. It’s owners have demonstrated a five year committment to providing the highest quality yoga. It’s starts with the unique demand placed on instructors who must have prior experience and willingness to emerse in the extensive training required to be certified. The pillars of the program are common sense rules for a fit life. Practioners are always rewarded by enthusiastic teachers guiding their practice in a clean and fun enviroment.

Modo gets it from top to bottom: Friendly instructors who bring alot of passion into the yoga room (and barre), which compliments its extremely welcoming studio. They have done a tremendously great job of leveraging their website to build business over the last couple of years, but have done so in a manageable way… also, the yoga room is HOT, and I love it. Modo is where it’s at for Minneapolis yoga right now, Core could learn a thing or 2 from Modo. Also a great place for kids to be introduced to a yoga studio for ‘kid yoga’ which I think is genius weekdays and weekends. Such a peaceful, cool vibe all the time!

I first checked out Modo when I bought a Groupon deal for 2 unlimited months at $ 39 and I’m really happy I did. The staff of teachers really make yoga accessible to everyone who walks in the door, including all levels of students. If you are new, Modo offers a great workout and a friendly environment in clean studios are clean with huge locker-​rooms.
If you are regular student — there are a wide variety of classes all with a variety of vinyasa flows. Classes occur all times during the day and they have a free app for your to sign up for classes in advance.
They also offer a barre class but it can be tough to get a spot in class since they only offer it about once a day and spaces are limited.
Parking can be a pain if you’re headed there around 5 PM with the post work rush, so you’ll need to allow extra time to make it to your class.
Highly recommend!

This is my absolute favorite yoga studio in the Twin Cities. The studio is such a gift during our cold winters, when the instructors remind you that it’s 100+ degrees warmer in the studio than it is outside.
I also LOVE, LOVE how clean the studio is — they take their cleaning between classes very seriously.
I only wish there was another studio in St. Paul!

It’s a new year and a decent amount has changed with me and with Moksha. For starters, they’ve adopted the new name of Modo Yoga Minneapolis. While the name is new, everything else appears to be relatively the same. I see the same instructors and the classes are still held frequently; however, they have expanded their merchandise area and now offer Barre and more workshops.
Another welcomed change is the mat markers on the studio floor. The place is very popular now and there had been a couple times where people had to readjust their stuff to fit other students. The reflective tape helps to guide you to a spot that will leave enough room for the most amount of people. Yoga tends to encourage us to think outside box, but sometimes a helpful hint can’t hurt.
A while back I purchased one of their 10 class passes. I was worried I wouldn’t use it in time because I live out of town, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s still good for a couple more months and I should get through it before it expires.

I was at Moksha for 2 months with a Groupon. I like it here fine — it is clean, pleasant atmosphere, nice studio. I also really like that they have a variety of styles of classes — don’t miss the hatha. I’d go back if was another Groupon for people who were previous clients.
For me they lost points because some of the instructors’ classes rubbed me the wrong way — and I found that just because you were taking the same class, with a different instructor it may have well as been a different class. However, this could be a plus for some people, because maybe it is better to have some variety vs. everybody teaching in a style I liked. I’ve been to a fair share of hot yoga studios and this isn’t my favorite or my least favorite. When it comes to corporatey-​heated-​yoga, I prefer CorePower over Moksha because of the convenience of difference studios and schedules, but if Moksha is closest to you then it could easily be your best option.

I have been practicing here for over a year and to be honest I could not live with out my Moksha practice. All the instructors bring something different to the table. The intentions they set really resonate on and off the mat. They just recently added Barre to the studio and I absolutely love this option. Enjoy! Namaste
