The place was small and more of a hole in a wall sort of place, so it could be hard to look for. One of the couples had to use the restroom to which he had to go to the next door building to use, which was very inconvenient. We ordered phở and when our bowls arrived, we noticed all assorted greens were chopped finely and flavored already. Which could be useful for others but for us, was abnormal. The broth was ok, made with it since they had a few sauces. Probably won’t be going back, not 4 stars worthy as it claims.

I’ve finally found that place that reminds me of the viet lunch gatherings my family use to go to every Sunday afternoon when I was little. Someone would also have a home cooked vietnamese meal made with love. My Houng is that friend’s house you go to that has the best food and it brings me back to my childhood staples: bo kho(curried beef that you eat with a loaf of french bread), bun thit noung(noodles with grilled pork and veggies), com thit noung(rise with grilled pork and veggies). This is ultimate vietnamese comfort food. Everytime I’ve come back to this place the quality has been consistently amazing, fresh, and I always leave can’t waiting to come back. The avocado smoothies are awesome, though I think Lu’s Sandwich has better. The bobas are spot on though. I can’t believe it took me more than 1.5 years living in Minneapolis to find this place. Unilocal is a beautiful thing and I wouldn’t have found this staple in my restaurant routine without it. Come visit this place, the woman who runs it is adorable. I feel a special connection with her because she has my mom’s Vietnamese name and my English name(and she probably has zero clue who I am so this may be creepy). So you may not have some common name connection, but I swear she’ll treat you with the warm hospitality she’s known for.

Delish! One of the best places I’ve ever been to in Minnesota for Vietnamese food. The room is small, but doable, and the people are very welcoming. This wouldn’t be a place for me to take a girl out on a date to, but it’s definitely a place for me to spend quality alone-time and get the food I want. Will come here again!

Fantastic. Just do it. The spring rolls are amazing. I also recommend the noodle salad. It turned my entire day around in the best possible way. You must eat here.

My first time here — would come back in a heartbeat. The dining room is very small, but everything else is wonderful. Friendly service, welcoming atmosphere and very inexpensive prices. Wonderful food, best Vietnamese I’ve had in MPLS. Delicious egg rolls and very unique Curry Chicken soup, one-of-a-kind. 5-stars, highly recommend!

I chose this restaurant based on it’s 2nd ranking in the best Phở places in Minneapolis. It was kind of hard to find it since the sign is not visible from the main road. When I arrived, there were no other customers. While looking at the menu aiming for the Phở, the male owner convinced me to try the Beef Stew Noodle Soup. He said it tastes better than Phở. OK I was sold even though the price is $ 1 more. I thought it’s about time to try something new instead of the usual Phở. The taste was really good. I love the soft thick chunks of the beef briskets, compared to the thin round eye beef I normally get in the Phở. The stew tasted a bit sweet but not that spicy and it was a bit oily too. Overall it was good food and I’ll go there again to get my Phở cravings.

My second take out visit. First time we had the chicken soup,(I wasn’t feeling good), and the pork lemon grass banh mi. This time we had the beef stew and another pork lemon grass banh mi, doll likes to stick to what is good. My only complaint is that the chilies were a little hot this time! The beef was fantastic tender, the broth had a wonderful flavor. The banh mi was right up there with Lu’s in flavor, just slightly different. I think it was the same French loaf. We also had the egg rolls and the spring rolls, both visits, very, very good.

My GOD! The long long hours they spend slow stewing ALL their soup bases using many WONDEROUS complex spices– sit there racking my brain trying to identify them all! Who still cooks like this??! NOONE… Yup, that’s why I keep coming back. Over and over again– it’s always spotless, the cilantro the most intense sweet fresh flavor and in FEBRUARY? And lots of it with some of the BEST super fresh crispy bean sprouts(!) bright sweet shrimp and generously filled home made egg rolls — totally non greasy. And each and EVERY time. Consistency with excellent quality ingredients«home cooking»(really) at its best, in the Twin Cities. The beef stew at the TOP of the list, their huge generous sandwiches with perfect ingredients(LOVE vegetables) …and that cilantro… filled with flavor, the chicken curry soup– WOW. And their cold noodle salad with the Perfectly made vinaigrette dressing with those rare egg rolls on top. My Vietnamese doctor from Mayo Clinic brings his family ONLY here– yes all the way from Rochester. He too loves their rare beef stew! YUM!!! Manga!

Oh those spring rolls! If I lived closer I’d get them everyday. Also had the curry chicken soup recommended by our sweet server who may have been the owner. It was so delicious i just waned to moan the whole time. Best Viet food I’ve had in a long time.

What a cool little place tucked in one of Eat Street’s corners. Came here solely because of my fellow Unilocalers’ consistently high ratings, so I was expecting nothing but the best. I should have paid more attention to Kara D.‘s review, because I too fell for the State Farm trap on the Nicollet side. The«My Huong Kitchen» sign is right on top of the State Farm entrance, so what do you do? Walk in thru the State Farm entrance. So, when you come here, make sure you park in the parking lot and not on the street, so you don’t get confused by funny side entrances. The place probably has like 5 tables so it’s very tiny. We came during off hours so we were the only ones in there. The owner is extremely warm, funny and energetic… sort of like an oompa loompa on steroids. She bullied me because I hinted that I might not be able to finish my enormous chicken curry. «You big man, you can take it!» was her way of telling me to stop being a sissy and finish it. OK after that I was determined to prove her wrong. So, the chicken curry. Oh wow. This was like a combination of Indian flavors with Vietnamese ingredients. Extremely tasty and satisfying, definitely a big bowl so you better be starving to finish it. The shrimp spring rolls were great as well, with a sweet and tangy sauce to accompany them. The reason why this is a 4 and not a 5-star review is because the Phở was sub-par and it failed to hit the spot. There was really not much flavor to it, have tried some really good ones around the city. This phở was not bad, but is not something I would order again here. In my opinion, Phở is to Vietnamese restaurants what the Sweet and Sour chicken is to Chinese restaurants and what tacos are to Mexican restaurants, they are your hallmark item so you better get it right. We finished with a basil citric jelly tea… what an interesting mix of flavors. It was sort of like drinking jello, which made for a great dessert. Looking forward to coming back and working my way thru some more chow!

Just what I needed on a snowy MN day! The phở special & shrimp spring rolls were tasty. You can get cheaper phở but this one had good quality ingredients which I think makes it worth it. Free, off street parking is also a plus. There’s only 6 tables so would recommend coming here on off hrs if you don’t want to wait. Liked the hole-in-the-wall feel.

One of the better Banh Mi place around with good portion sizes. The only annoyance is min. Credit card purchase of $ 10, Seriously all I want is a $ 5 sandwich for a quick lunch meal. Booo.

Why am I taking forever to review this place? I really don’t know. What everyone is saying about Tracy and her husband is TRUE. I came in the other day looking for chicken noodle soup for myself because I didn’t feel well and I didn’t want to pay 8 bucks for Phở. I was surprised they got one. The owner which is the husband said they do have one for kids. I kindly smiled at him and said it is for me… yep, he said sure it is around 3 dollars and I was happy to hear. I didn’t wait long at all. At the end he told me to feel better. Aside from my story, the space is tiny but the service is phenomenal. I have been here couple times getting Phở and it is good as well. I highly recommend everyone to make a stop here. Parking is free.

First of all, I was the dope that walked into the musky State Farm hallway looking for My Huong(it was written on the glass door). I kept thinking, «I hope I’m wrong I hope I’m wrong»… Well of course I was, when I realized that My Huong is on the adjacent corner of the building. Inside is clean and colorful; what a relieffff. Tracy, the owner, immediately introduced herself and her husband Kevin. She is like an angel on earth! She told me her story of how she started cooking for her many siblings since she was 11, and how MH had a very slow start but they stayed tenacious with their passion. Tracy went over to every customer in the place, whom she knew by name. So sweet! I wanted to put her in my purse! Skip to the food. Ok. Their spring rolls. PERFECT. They were tightly wrapped and slightly chewing, packed with all the goods, including tender shrimp and zesty herbs. I love the splash of sriracha in the dipping sauce too. For my main course, I got Com Tam Bi, Suon, Cha — Lemongrass pork chop & shredded pork and broken rice. It was a great combo plate with a littler bit of everything. I have never had a dish like this before and really enjoyed it — it was full of different textures and flavors from sweet to salty. I was shocked when Tracy told me that was a traditional breakfast! I realized that I can’t get enough of My Huong, so I ordered the Hu tieu bo kho — Beef stew noodle soup too. Jesus. I tried a sip of the broth and that soup has got layers of flavor for dayyyysss. Oh and on the way out, I said hi to one of their pet turtles and it rested its paw(hand? foot? clobhopper?) on my finger. F’ing precious.

From the moment I walked in was warmly greeted by the owner Tracy & her kind husband. When you go to a restaurant it always feels nice to be appreciated. They have this mango orange bubble tea, also the shrimp spring rolls were amazing! Great people Great service! Very fresh prepared food.

5 stars. Bravo. We checked this place out after seeing it rated pretty highly on here. I was expecting a hip, half-assed attempt at «fusion» cuisine as seems so common in this town, but nope. This is real Vietnamese and it is really, really, good. Everything was perfect. It’s unpretentious, tiny, and everything is the best example of the dish that I’ve had. From the chicken curry soup to the beef soup and bahn mi and shrimp spring rolls, I have never been to a Vietnamese joint where the food was this damn good. My recommendation is literally everything. Get one of everything. I’ll be back often. Also, can I say the lady who runs this place is the sweetest? She accidentally touched her finger to our soup when boxing it up for us(portions are great here, you won’t finish it in one sitting) and while I’d normally not care at all, she was kind enough to include a complimentary fresh tub of it. I can’t believe I’ve lived here for 3 months and had not been here before. This is everything I love about a restaurant. Quick, delicious, friendly, and QUALITY. No half-assed attempts at being hip or cool here, just good food. If you live in Minnesota and haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting on? I’ll go with you. No, seriously. I will.

I finally made it here after reading all the Unilocal reviews! I actually have been meaning to go for a while, but it was closed for a bit because the owners took vacations? Anyways, the place is very small, hole-in-a-wall type of place. There are about 5 or 6 tables, and that’s about it. I was lucky enough to snatch one of the two tablets remaining before a flood of people came in and either left or grab to-go instead. Here is what I ordered — #4 Eggroll & Pork Chop Noodle Salad(based on Unilocal recommendations!), Special Phở. I also grabbed a dates/longan/jelly drink in the fridge by the door! While I really enjoyed the soup base of the phở(savory, light, and flavorful), I was disappointed in the meat we were given. Basically, all we got were thin slices of beef and meatballs… I like my tripe, tendon, fatty pieces of beef in phở. Also, another different thing here is that they chopped up scallions, mint, and bean sprouts to throw in the phở already unlike other places where they give you a separate plate. The egg rolls in the noodle salad was very good and perfectly fried! The pork chop slices were a bit dry in my opinion. However, it was a generous portion, and very light and fresh! I have to say that my favorite part might be the dates/longan/jelly drink! I haven’t had this type of sweet soup/drink in forrrreevvvver. It is reminiscent of the Cantonese sweet soup desserts! I loved it! I was really tempted to try their crepes and also some of their other desserts in the fridge, but I was stuffed! Will come back again and hope I am lucky enough to have a table again.

I came here based on Unilocal reviews! The only reason I had to deduct a star is because I really wanted to sit down and eat and enjoy it there but instead had to sit in my car and eat it out of the container in front of the store. There are only a couple tables and they were all full. I ordered the #4 based upon what everyone else said. It was really good, so fresh and crisp tasting! I wish the ratio of veggies to noodles was a little better though, I got SO many noodles and not as much veggies as I would have liked. I like to save my carbs for sweets and bakery items and eat lots of veggies and not as much in the form of starches. It’s all about balance. The flavors were amazing though, and the customer service was great. They talked to me like they truly cared about me enjoying my food, which was awesome. They obviously care about what they do. I will be back for sure.
