Ugh ! If I could I would give NOSTARS ! Last time I came here for a order to pick up, I saw a waitress dig her nose ! And if you want a visual it was as if she was digging for gold, going at it in her nose. Never again have I returned for the food.

like the mongolian grill, but it took 15 minutes after opening for them to start cooking food. 5 minutes after opening, no white rice yet. Being ready at opening would be nice. for example, Napkin dispenser was empty, would be nice if things like this were checked before opening. just after opening, some food, for example, chicken with broccoli, cream cheese won tons, etc. were already cold. Hope they have not been sitting out too long prior to opening? slow to bus tables, a lot of standing around and talking by the help, would be nice to be more attentive.

I go to this place all the time. Nothing that will blow you away but decent quality and selection. It’s better than all but a few buffets in the area.

I have been going here for the past 11 years(no joke) and refuse to go to any other Chinese style buffets. This place is worth every penny. I took my girlfriend last weekend and this was her first time. SHe was nervous when we pulled in to the parking lot. And rightfully so. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall attached to the tires plus! The inside is neat and clean with friendly employees. My favorite thing about New King is their Mongolian BBQ. You pick the meat, veggies and sauce and they cook it right there for you. To me, its worth tipping the guy doing the cooking too. The sushi they had was mediocre and nothing to brag about. The lo mein was delicious along with the Teriyaki chicken skewers. Its nice having a place like this close to home.

Never eat here after 7 pm. They don’t have anything to eat. You will have to tell them to make the food that you want.

One of my favorite buffet since I was a kid. They renovated since then and not only offer the typical chinese buffet food but also the Mongolian grill, sushi, and even phở. New food is always coming out and the food is always hot. Everything tastes great but the sushi. The sushi is fine for buffet quality but not really great if your an experience sushi lover. The servers are generally always there to refill your drinks and crab your dirty plates. I did have one bad waiter the other day. She was hiding by the bathroom talking on the phone most the time I was there. It was amusing to see her try to hide her phone each time another worker walked by. It got annoying because all she did was talk on the phone or played on her phone while pretending to grab people’s tabs. Over all great.

Wow I can’t believe what we saw at the buffet. My daughter and I, we were serving our selfs buttered Garlic bread and Roach came out the side. We immediately went to the front counter and the Asian guy working there made pretend he could not speak English. I didn’t even bother to ask for my money back. That’s how discussed I was. When I asked for the name of the owner he refused to give me his name and kept saying I don’t understand English.

Been going to this buffet for years. It’s seen much better years in the past, that’s for sure. For a while, the food became next to impossible to choke down(as of about 6 months ago). Recently, my girlfriend and I decided to give it another shot. The food was better, but, no where near what it used to be. Some of the fried dishes were a little over fried which makes them almost like rocks. A few of the grilled items or baked items were spot on though, which is always nice. Was very disappointed in the egg rolls though. I used to be able to eat these all night long, but, for the most part they’re just misses now. Flavorless, mis-labeled, and often cold. A shame to what this place used to be, still. But, getting better from the pits it went deep into recently.

I was told this was reopened under new management so me and my mother decided to give it a shot. We are both particular about our Chinese buffets so we went in with hopes that it would be better than before. Well YESITWAS! We understand buffet food is not going to wow the taste buds but it should satisfy an over all craving for apps, stir fry and yummy batter fried goodness. We both loved the walnut shrimp(no walnuts!) and vegetable lo mein. I liked the chicken stir fry and chicken wings(plain/buffalo). Mom liked the beef and mushroom. The place was full of people and families. They also had sushi selections and a build your own stir fry section. We tried neither. We were full and satisfied for 23 bucks! I left a tip for our server who brought me refills when asked. Service was very friendly and they kept the pans full of food during our time there. We will be going back when the craving returns!

I’ve been going to this place on and off for many years – since they used to be the«New Country Buffet»(I’m assuming the legal department from that disgusting garbage dump called«Old Country Buffet» made them change name because it was almost the same and liable to cause confusion…) Anyway, after not eating here for a while, I stopped by a couple times recently, wondering why I had started avoiding the place. The food is decent or very good and never cold in my experience, and I really like the Mongolian barbecue. But like many buffets, it’s kind of a dive… so then I started doing takeout sometimes. However, I think what may put me off more than anything is that, almost without exception, from the moment I step foot in the place until I leave again, every single employee visibly appears as if to be just one really bad day away from slitting their wrists or something. It’s depressing and I just end up feeling bad for them, being as I have worked a number of miserable, unsatisfying, low-wage jobs myself throughout the years. And they are otherwise such lovely people I can see, especially the wonderful, beautiful Asian girls :) So pop an extra Prozac and enjoy… Just try not to stick to the floor or anything…

This place has gone major downhill! I used to go here just for crablegs, salt & pepper shrimps & crawfish. BUT the past few recent visits, i end up leaving hungry & very dissatisfied of the food i saw and had. Lets start with their mongolian stirfry, very limited choices(might as well go to Khans or Monggos if you really are into stirfries) The crablegs are bland and overcooked and there’s a note that says YOUCANONLYTAKE2 sets of crableg!!!(THENWHYISITCALLEDANEAT-ALL-U-CANBUFFET??) The crawfish taste old & bland. An the salt & pepper shirmps taste like boiled shrimps with green bell pepper added on top!!! The desserts are mediocre, seems like they just placed this sugar pastries???(i dont even consider them cakes or pastries) just so they could say that they have a dessert bar ANDONTOPOFTHIS! THEIRPRICEINCREASED! PAID $ 23 for me & my son(9y.o)! DEFINITELYNOTWORTHIT! I would suggest GRANDBUFFET in ST Paul… Same price but higher quality & delicious food!

Well this place has been here for many years and I’ve visited only a handful of times and never had a bad experience. Just like any other buffet, it is best to come during lunch time of course because the food is fresher. Someone commented earlier and said they seated people according to race(?) I don’t agree. I was here a couple of days ago and didn’t pick up on any racial tension. Anywho I rarely like fried rice at buffets for some reason, but this rice was good, the general tso(which is my fav chinese dish) was just ok here :-(the broccoli was great and get this the crab legs were the best I’ve had at any chinese restaurant hands down. This place could be a whole lot better with much better care. Unfortunatley it looks like they’re just fine with the«ok» service they provide. Will I visit again sure, just not often.

I loved this place until I started noticing a trend. They seat people by race! Then one evening a mouse scampered out of the Mongolian BBQ area. After a lot of screaming in the place everyone got a free meal. Often the staff is standing around while the food is cold.

I second Yoko. Seems their quality has been down. When I have eaten several years ago I was so impressed with the quality and freshness but since the economy down I noticed the freshness dissapeared and the food taste funny. The good side though last time I went there a lot of selection. I also experiences when I do take out, they don’t have the scale so they take alook what I put on the container. So if you were lucky you would get a decent take out price.
