Truly delicious and truly the most unique food in Minneapolis! I’ve driven by countless times and finally tried this place out. It’s a bit of dump, but the food is excellent! I tried the pork, retried beans, cheese pupasas… YUMM!!! Will definitely be back again!!!

The food was excellent– pupusas and tacos were delicious! Won’t get a 5 star because the service was a little slow but they were really friendly and helpful. I’ll be back for sure!

The food is the best in its kind. Excellent taste not disappointed at all. The only con I had was the lack of beverages.

The place was closed at 8:06 pm. Hours are wrong… I hate when restaurants do this. Fuck this place never coming here again.

This place is awesome for a quick«Crap– I forgot dinner“situation. Kind of random hours, but good papusa for a sweet price. You get a pretty big serving as well.

This place is amazing! Right around the corner from our house and is a great go to for Latin American food that is really tasty and cheaply priced. It is el Salvadorian to be specific. I love the pollo la crema. It is very rich and flavorful and is one of my new favorite comfort foods. I love the Tortas and papusas also. Cheese and loroca papusas is great. Cordial employees and it comes quick for take our! Go!

I admit, we came to the wrong Pupuseria. But I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a fancy place, pretty casual, pretty simple, but there’s ample space. It’s located in a random spot, not much else is nearby it seems. Plenty of street parking, not very busy, but friendly service, and definitely a family-owned, cozy restaurant. We ordered a cheese & queso pupusa, a pollo crema, and a large horchata to share and it came out to be about $ 17(without tip). The queso pupusa was good, but I’ve definitely had better. It’s probably healthier here since it appears to be grilled and I’m used to it being more pan fried in oil. It was definitely hand made and filled with love, but it just didn’t have much flavor. The red salsa that came with it though helps a lot, it adds a little saltiness and a little spice. The crunchy slaw that came with it was interesting but also didn’t add that much flavor for me. The pollo crema was pretty good but VERY rich and the portions weren’t that big. The scoop of rice is very small and the little side salad was also pretty small. Just enough to fill us both up but we weren’t super full or anything. If you get the large horchata to go, it comes in a HUGE styrofoam cup. Portion control you don’t have, but good value you do. Not too sweet, not too cinnamony, and was a little more than one note, which today, worked since I’ve had a hankering for something sweet. I’ll come again but probably after visiting all the other 4 – 5 star Unilocaled pupuserias in Minneapolis!

My friend and I went here for lunch. We both agreed that the meat was quite dry. I also thought the flavor was fairly bland. Service was fine and establishment was clean.

I want to love you, but you’re just too damn weird. First, the food, when you get what you ordered is often quite good, but it might not be… The only thing that I consistently love is the fried plantains. Sometimes the pupusas are rock star quality, sometimes they’re burned and missing most of their contents. I’ve given up on eating at the restaurant. First, it’s a weird and depressing room. There is very little decoration, an ignored junky area and worst of all — plumbing sticking from the wall. Then there’s the fact that once you leave the entrance, you can lose all contact with the staff. They might wander by or they may not. Better to order take out and stand in the entrance, where you can make sure they haven’t decided to close up and leave, while you’re sitting at the table. As for that take out order, they’re batting 100%, I’ve never actually gotten exactly what I’ve ordered. They forget a pupusa or two, forget the slaw or the sauce(what makes the dish) or give you someone else order entirely. Also, don’t count on opening hours, last time I was there, they had locked up over an hour early and weren’t going to let in until I finally convinced them that I was there to pick up my(later to be discovered that it was slawless once again) phone order.

Yum! You would not expect the food to be so filling. Would have been five stars but the waitress never came to ask if we wanted dessert and after waiting too long we just went up to the register to pay. All very yummy and friendly. Highly recommend. I got two papusas and a chicken tamale.

I’ve been here 4 times now. Today I walked in and was seated. I waited 10 minutes. Nothing. One table up and left. A table with a kid about 2 years old was by me. He was crying and throwing a fit. I realized it was because he was starving and hadn’t been served yet. Another 5 minutes, another table walks out. We all went to the front and asked what the problem was. We were told they would be right with us. The tables that had gotten food were just waiting around for their tabs. Nothing. 20 minutes and I’m out of there. I’ve waited many tables in my day so I know some days can be tough. But this was just pure insanity. It wasn’t busy. Really it wasn’t. I watched 2 tables walk out and one guy waiting to order take out before I walked out. I’ll give it another try maybe but boy this was just a bad bad experience.

This place is not good. Go to La Mañana Restaurant in St. Paul, 8287th St E, St Paul, MN55106. It is cheaper and the food is way better than this one.

Are you reading this? Good. Eat here. The food is authentic, the service is friendly, the portions are plentiful, and the prices are borderline ridiculous — in a good way of course. My guest and I had two pupusas(one cheese, one pork), the scrambled eggs with sausage, corn tamales, yucca fritas, and one horchata. The cheese pupusa is not on the menu, but they’ll do it if you ask. Cheese and loroco is on the menu but I’m not a fan of loroco. Pupusas were nicely cooked to a golden brown. The cheese was separating a bit but otherwise my taste buds and my stomach had no complaints. The curtido(slaw) is nicely flavored and adds bit of flavor and some acid to an otherwise hearty dish. The corn tamales were solid — perhaps slightly overdone. The texture was just a touch dry for my liking but it’s served with sour cream so it was a concern easily overlooked. The egg dish was solid — the sausage was more like a hot dog, but my guest loved it. But it also came with small tortillas and beans, and considering you could barely get *a* scrambled egg some places for the $ 5 price — again, how do you really object? When all was said and done, we had a $ 20 tab and enough leftovers for another meal. How many places can you leave in this town and say that? As a denizen of downtown St. Paul, my loyalty in Salvadoran food is still to Mañana over in Dayton’s Bluff. But if you’re in Minneapolis and looking for some great, authentic, and super affordable Central American fare, do yourself a favor and give this place your business.

So happy to find a place here to have El Salvadoran food since I didn’t think they would way up north.

Im not Salvadorian but I have had plenty of pupusas in my short life time that I can definitely say hands down this is authentic! I have had pupusas in food trucks restaurants in people houses street corners! but this place hands down got this right Usually the pupusas I have had were not properly stuffed either they were cheap with there food and didn’t want to stuff it which would come out looking like a tortilla or sometimes the masa flour had no flavor or worse burnt smh I ordered two pupusas to start because masa always makes me full with like two bites right away I ordered one with beans and cheese and the other chicharron which is pork rinds. right away I noticed these suckers are stuffed they was oozing out goodness I was so excited! the coleslaw mix was so fresh and the classic red sauce was just right the masa has so much flavor omg my mouth is watering right now as I am typing this no joke I might just go over there after this review its so bomb its also dead ass cheap! four pupusas and horchata and tamarind drink for $ 16 bucks and you leave stuffed is the best deal must go and try next time I will go I will order the pupusas and enchiladas I must go NOW!

Looking for authentic pupusa? Stop on in here for the real Salvadorian deal. It was my first time trying pupusa and it was great! Never thought to mix corn pancake mix with beans and cheese fried in it with coleslaw and salsa!

While waiting in traffic on Hiawatha Avenue, I searched on my Unilocal app where to eat and this pupuseria populated up. Looked interesting. The décor is simple, and, if you’re lucky, you might get to hear Christian Rock get blasted from the overhead speakers.(Interesting selection. Lol!) After looking over the menu and reading the reviews, I ordered a couple of their pork pupusas, and a pork tamale. Pupusas: If you’ve never eaten this El Salvadorian treat, you might think that they look like large and unappetizing pancakes. No worries! Take the cup of coleslaw-like garnishin, dump it all over your pupusas, and slather both of them with hot sauce. Then, take your fork and cut those babies open! They aren’t the best pupusas I’ve eaten in the TC, but they’re pretty damn good and will satisfy that craving. Tamale: Even though the thing literally fell apart once I unwrapped it, it was moist, soft, and packed with flavor. Just wish it didn’t crumble on me. Price: Can’t get any cheaper! Everything set me back only ten bucks or so. With his price, you shouldn’t be complaining too much. Service: Not very fast, but not slow either. Overall, it’s a place with okay to good food that makes it attractive because of its affordability.

Very tasty place! Had the pupusa the first time, super delicious! The second time I had the chicken stew special, it was delicious. The place is quite bare and plain, I think there may be 3 – 4 people working there, but it is quite an efficient operation, I was served quickly and politely!

Tried these for the first time — ordered a variety — and when it actually came down to eating em, I didn’t know which was which! But no matter — they were all quite delicious and we will be back!
