REV Ultra Lounge

Rev is a good place to dance on the weekends if you like EDM. It is a small basement area and it definitely has an intimate feeling to it which you don’t get at other venues in Minneapolis. Drinks are reasonable and the staff is nice. They recently reconfigured the layout so the stage is differently positioned than in the past. I used to go to Rev once or twice.

Holy cow! I didn’t know they changed their name to REV Ultra Lounge. I ‘checked in’ the wrong place. Oh well, this review is based on the dance club scene. The place was kind of dead but I didn’t care because the music is what I was enjoying. Since I had my dancing shoes on, I didn’t care where we go…
It is located in the basement. The space is like a garage where you could fit six cars with low ceilings. Music is great. Parking is either valet or at the ramp. Enjoy!

Their booking manager is amazing, getting the best DJs. I really want to like this venue. Staff is friendly and nice, it’s just a terribly designed venue. Low ceiling, over packed, VIP isn’t any better than just getting general tickets. Drink prices were reasonable, $ 8 for a vodka redbull. The space downstairs is just poorly designed, its just a rectangular squished space where there is only one exit and entrance. I don’t understand why the management doesn’t see how this floor plan is losing you money. When you have patrons dancing towards the front and they see how far away the bar is, they’re just going to suck it up and pass on getting another drink. Lots and lots of money is lost with only have one bar area towards the back rather than on the side of dance floor. I saw too many people near me with no drinks in their hands.
Mediocre sound system.

I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. When it was Marquee it was amazing — Awesome LED light display, stellar EDM on par with European clubs– now, this palace seems like someone’s terrible mistake. If you value good music and a decent atmosphere — don’t waste your time here.
