In the past, we have been very fortunate to have help from some very friendly and knowledgable people at this store. Most often, they are personable and eager to help. I’d like to give more stars, but we did have a sour experience with an older gentleman that works there. We came in looking for help/advice on a project we were undertaking, but the clerk, though he seemed like he knew a thing or two, didn’t really offer any real advice or offer to show us our options. Instead, he disregarded our project ideas and appeared to dismiss us when the conversation lost ground, stating that«[he was] a retailer, not a carpenter.» His attention then shifted away from us to some individuals that entered the store; one of which, a woman who seemed to know the clerk, was incredibly rude, laughing at us, showing support for her«friend» at the counter sending us away. It was embarrassing to say the least. We felt very disrespected. Due to the multiple positive experiences we’ve had there, it will continue to be our go-to hardware store, but I have to admit that we cringe at the thought of the old guy being there, and it shouldn’t be that way.

This small neighborhood joint easily trumps the big box stores. Jim and Jason are helpful, kind, and eager to answer any questions. I always enjoy our conversations at the counter and look forward to going back. They make me feel welcome and I wouldn’t dream of doing business elsewhere. I would give more stars if I could!!!
