I’ve gone to the Rouge a couple times now. Once for VIP and the other time general admission. Both were great! The first room typically has hip-hop/r&b and top 50 plays in the back room. Ladies will often get in free till midnight, and as the front room fills up they open the back.
Drinks aren’t watered down and the dance floor is clean sans glass. If you’re looking for a fun time in a small or large group, this is your spot.

first time there bartender was excellent made a great martini. Went on bollywood night didn’t know at the time but it was fun the DJ mixed it up. No parking safe bet is the parking lot around the corner for $ 10 even if there is street parking never know the fine print of no parking after 11 on the streets… so don’t chance it. better to pay the $ 10 then the $ 200 because the City of Minneapolis set u up… but the Rouge was good. I will come back…

Bought bottle service through living social and made reservations for 10pm. Its 10:30 now and they still havent seated us and told us it would be 15 more mins. There is no one here and the music is terrible. Over priced and underwhelming.

Came here for a Thursday salsa night. I know very little about how to salsa. All I know I love how it looks and I wish I had moves like Shakira. Unfortunately this place didn’t help. No lessons. Not much room to dance. No boys with the patience to teach me any of the pasos. Don’t get me wrong I had a ton o fun but it was mostly from watching from the bar cuddling with my beer. So I like it but it’s not the best place for a gringa newbie.

Rouge is worth a try.
1. DJs don’t follow the mood of the crowd. Constant rush to the floor for a 15 second sound bite, then crowd rushes off when replaced with a dance unfriendly sample. Need to probably upgrade DJs.
2. Music is terribly loud. but hey, its a dance club.
3. Entertainment is excellent. GoGo dancer, Belly Dancer, Fire Dancer. Well done!
4. Drinks priced on par.
5. Good mix of patrons. Everyone there to have a good time.
6. Bouncers have business savvy. Know when and where to flex cover-​charges.
7. Still has some growing to do, but works.

So glad I didn’t pay to get in here. It was all but empty, no one was in the VIP area but the douchy bouncer wouldn’t let us up there to dance. It was full of people just on our bar crawl and no one who actually made an effort to go here. I would pick a lot of places downtown before this place.
