Amazed that at the prices charged you can’t get two flavors in a small size. It’s not like I’m asking for more ice cream. Businesses with illogical policies like that won’t be around in a few years. By the way the worker just said a curt«no» instead of «I’m sorry». My daughter’s cone was good. I chose to not have any. I knew what I wanted and they were not willing to accommodate. I’ve been to hundreds of ice cream shops all around the US and this experience was unusual.

I love the late hours during the week so my friends and I can get a treat later at night. Not my first choice ice cream place however in the twin cities area. The staff never really seems overly friendly at night so it makes you feel a little uncomfortable to stay and sit inside. The ice cream is a little softer and the scoops aren’t that big for the price.

Loved it! A bit pricy for ice cream abut for sure worth the money! Glad they have outdoor seating which is doggie friendly! Wish they can have doggie ice cream.

Sebastian Joe’s ice cream is excellent, likely the second best in the Twin Cities(to Izzy’s). However, it is somewhat pricey for the amount you get at the café. You also have to stop and ask why you are paying for overpriced food in uptown. If you want the quality ice cream at a better value, I would go to Scoops in Bloomington.

We love Sebastian Joe’s. We live in the neighborhood, and so come here regularly. The ice cream is delicious, and they have many fun flavors. The Nicollete Ave Pothole is delicious. I also get malts(which they do in any of their ice cream flavors)…and I always really like those. One of the main things I like about this place is its location and décor. Linden hills is such a beautiful fun place, and Sebastian Joe’s did a great job of building an outdoor patio which is perfect for families(Big Turtles that our daughter loves… beautiful landscaping, waterfall, patio lights which my wife and I love). This will be staple of our neighborhood experience for a long time to come.

What a fantastic place to stop by with friends, family or just a quick to go. Their ice cream is really some of the best in town. At this Sebastian Joe’s location they actually even have a fireplace and makes it wonderful warm cozy feeling all you had to have a fantastic ice cream. Tricycle their free samples before you commit and highly recommend the Oreo. We actually can have them to our wedding cake it was absolute Amazing and all the guests were so excited. I can’t win to head back there for a some great ice cream

Ice cream consistently good. Tried the cone again and it again tasted stale. Will definitely continue to go back but will get ice cream in a cup :)

Genuinely THE best ice in the Twin Cities. Dare I say even better than Izzys. Plus, during those hot summer months this Sebastian Joe’s location has the shortest line in comparison. Trust me, I drove around on many nights looking for the shortest line… and this was takes the pick! Plus they have a sweet patio!

Do you like ice cream and lakes? Since you live in and/or are visiting Minneapolis, I’m going to assume you do, so Sebastian Joe’s should definitely be on your list of quintessential Minneapolis stops. While Izzy’s is more modern, Joe’s is your classic, neighborhood parlour. It’s comfortable. It’s nostalgic. It feels like you’ve been transported to a small town when you step inside(seems to be a theme in the Linden Hills area). Best of all, you’re only a few blocks from Lake Harriet, so you can enjoy your cone while you walk around one of the most scenic areas of Minneapolis. I heartily recommend the oreo and raspberry chocolate chip. The oreo, in particular, is the best version of cookies and cream I’ve ever laid my tongue on. The ice cream here is heavier and more creamy than other options in the TC, which I like. It has that old-school, hand churned charm that you can’t really find at any of the other ice cream options in town(no knock on those, as they do what they do very well). If you’re looking for dessert on a beautiful day after brunch or dinner at Tilia, Zumbro, or Harriet Brasserie, or you’re picnicking at the lake with Clancey’s, Sebastian Joe’s has you covered. It’s as close to what Minnesota summer would taste like if it, you know, had a taste.

This is such a charming little ice cream shop in Linden Hills. A nice treat after a visit to the Linden Hills festival. We sat outside just before it started raining. Nice that there are both options for seating. Friendly staff offering samples. Good ice cream. Out of all the ice cream shops; this one is my favorite. Oreo ice cream waffle cone was loved by all of us. Will swing back to try the ice. Ream cookie sandwiches I was admiring the other customers eating. Had I seen those, I would have gone with one of those.

I normally fancy the location on Hennepin but thought I should visit this place since it so much closer to home. Ice cream is still always spot on for Sebastian’s and I love how this location has outdoor patio seating, making it more likely for people to come back during the summer sun days. Today’s flavored consisted of green tea, rum raisin, mojito serbert, ginger, Black Forest, salted caramel, and more. I definitely gravitated towards the ginger ice cream, and boy, was it good. It had the right amount of spice and had a nice caramel-y sweetness coming from, what appeared to be candied ginger?. Overall, I was happy with my selection; my partner in crime however was not. He order the salted caramel ice cream, without tasting it first, and realized he picked the wrong kind. If you like adversely sweet things(who doesn’t if you love desserts) this one is for you. It wasn’t bad(we ended up switching because he couldn’t tolerate it, I blame the«delicate» palate aspect… shhhh-let’s let that be our secret Unilocalers). I didn’t mind it but I agree it was hard to finish after a few spoonfuls. Maybe if you had it on a waffle cone that’d offset some of the glucose but I went with guilt and a heavy heart and got it in a cup instead. Overall, I love this joint. It allowed me to soak up the sun and eat a bunch of really good«bad for me» stuff and I don’t regret it one bit. Lesson learn though, always taste before buying!!!

Very cute ice cream joint! The location is fantastic! The line was out the door but it moved pretty swiftly. There was a decent selection of ice cream flavors — I chose the chocolate malted vanilla with a sugar come. The sugar cone was a Joy brand and was nothing homemade or fancy, preferably I wish they had found cake cones. Pricing was a little high so that’s why I am giving 3 stars along with the moderate choice of flavors. Will be back if in the area and we loved the space for seating not to mention how super dog friendly this place is!

Really cute store and great patio, just a block or two off Lake Harriet. The ice cream flavors were fun — tried the coffee chocolate chip flavor. Ice cream was just average — they charged $ 4ish for a small cone with one little scoop.

This place was awesome! We had never been, one of the ladies was kind enough to recommend some flavors to us and was just overall very kind. We were so happy with our visit and will bring our friends back! I hear it’s busy in the summer… doesn’t surprise me! :)

I never thought I would become obsessed with ice cream, but it happened. Sebastian Joe’s was awesome! Everyone that worked there was extremely friendly and gave us the rundown of all the different favors. I got the Pavarotti ice cream, which is banana flavored with chocolate chips. It was amazing. I can’t wait to go back to try all of the other favors.

Big line, little pricey, hard to get a park, but it’s because it’s SOGOOD. Raspberry choc chip, be-still my heart. Grab a cone and walk around the lake for a perfect summer evening.

We were at Tilia and at least two people told us that we MUST try the ice cream at Sebastian Joe’s! We went over straight away. They had a bunch of fun flavors as well as some good standbys. I had a hard time making a decision and the friendly employee offered to help me decide between three seductive flavors. He threw me a curve ball and recommended his personal favorite(not one of my three choices). I trusted him and got the peach. It was good, but I’ve experienced better. M wasn’t impressed with her salted caramel and commented that the same flavor was better at The Kenwood. The semi-enclosed seating area was nice and bustling with activity. Friends and families were chatting and enjoying their frozen treats. It definitely felt like a neighborhood hot spot! I think I recall some nice landscaping right outside by the patio area. Perhaps a fountain or something.

Yes… It’s true! A line outside the door for ice cream. That may be enough to tell you there is nothing better than homemade ice cream from Sebastian Joe’s. As you eye all the flavors through the showcase staff will give you as many samples as you want but sometimes that only makes my decision more difficult. This location is just a few blocks off Lake Harriet so my suggestion is to take a slight detour next time you’re walking around the lake. Just head down Upton where you’ll find Sebastian Joe’s. Order up your scoop and you can sit down and enjoy it in their beautifully landscaped space and patio area. Don’t forget to bring along your pooch though because they’re always welcome too! I love this place and it truly never disappoints.

Chocolate dipped cones are my new fave! And so is chocolate ice cream with sea salt and heath. It’s a good thing I live several, several miles away otherwise I’d be tempted to return. Often. The samples I scarfed were rich and creamy, and I could appreciate the inventive flavor combinations. It’s also nice to see espresso at an ice cream joint! My only beef… the mint chip or After Dinner Mint as they call it sort of tasted like mouthwash. Ordinarily my favorite flavor when it comes to icy dessert, I decided to pass.
